Welcome back to another chapter of my so-called life. Life is one surprise after another. I know a lot of people have been asking about Bubblegum's love life but she's so picky I'd just about given up on ever finding her a good match. That is until Luna showed up with a cardboard box and asked if we would mind taking care of an 'accident'. She explained that Nyx had found a white cat under a bush by the library and thought it would be the perfect gift because he knew I was worried about Bubblegum. He even took Quartz to the groomer's so he could get cleaned up. But the groomer was new and somehow mixed up shampoo with a pink hair dye and this was the result. On the bright side--he's now a 100% perfect match for Bubblegum! We watched them all day to see how they would react to each other but so far they're still kind of distant. I guess romance requires patience...a lot of it. At least Quartz didn't sleep on Bubblegum's bed---that would definitely have killed any hope for cat romance. Bubblegum thinks she's pampered and gets super possessive over her memory foam cat bed. Eve always lets us throw parties after school while she's at work. This is Renee--her father was transferred to a small town in Hokkaido just before she was born but last year they were able to move back to the U.S. Renee said she can get us great discounts on a trip overseas and I've been thinking it would be the perfect distraction to get Allison out of her shell. And she is, definitely, starting to loosen up a bit. Things are heating up between my brother and Luna. They aren't officially dating yet but I have a feeling they'll be an item before the week is out. The four of us get along really well. It's kind of strange that my brother and I, fraternal twins, have hooked up with another pair of twins. But it's fun because we always know what our siblings are thinking and we're super comfortable around each other. Another surprising thing was the extent of my brother's dedication to Luna. In true stalker fashion he decided he wanted to enroll in St. Lyman's, the private prep school Luna and Nyx's parents donated a lot of money to. That meant he actually had to study which was a big step for him. I guess it worked---Luna was definitely impressed. My relationship with Nyx is happening a little too fast--we've decided to go steady and had our first kiss after a dinner date. I thought it would be a little weird at first because we've known each other for so long but falling in love with Nyx was easier than breathing. I was a little worried about what Luna would think though--we're practically sisters now and she comes home with me every day after school. But when I told her the news she was more excited than I was and wanted to know everything. She even helped me decide what to get Nyx for his birthday next week: a ticket to a Bizenghast concert. They're the hotest rock band in the country and tickets sell out pretty fast but Eve knows someone who works backstage at Gotham Gates, the premier concert hall. She has some pretty amazing connections as a well-known entertainer. The party was a smash--we set up the DJ booth on the lawn. Everyone showed up--even our new neighbor Vince. Allison got sick though (I forgot to tell her the punch was spiked). She recovered some stamina after eating a slice of pizza. She told me it was the first time she'd tried it! That girl serioiusly needs to get out more. Not knowing how to swim is one thing but never eating pizza?? Nyx had a little too much fun too--I hoped he wouldn't fall asleep in the limo. I'm not sure who invited Aten---he showed up in his traditional....outfit. I'm not sure what to call it but it's a little risque. Just before the limo showed up Nyx grabbed my arm and pulled me in for a kiss just as the music changed tempo. I learned later that Luna had snuck in and put on a slow song so we could have a moment alone together. Nyx has amazing rhythm--I was afraid I would lose the beat if my concentration slipped. But in my heart I know that we can conquer anything that comes our way--even if I don't know the steps.
