My name is Nel---welcome to my so-called life.

My name is Nel---welcome to my so-called life. I live in a haunted old house with my brother Noir and aunt Eve. This is Noir's room--pretty neat for once which is absolutely amazing. He's into heavy metal and medieval history. Weird. This of course is my room. The walls are covered with velvet stage curtains from Her Majesty's Theater. I love the lamp--a garage sale antique. Bubblegum seems to agree. My aunt's...unique perfectionism even spreads to the bathroom. I'm just thankful she washes the towels once a week. Her room looks like a hotel. Clean, neat, and simple. Completely uncomplicated and transparent... just like her. This is our living room. Compared to Eve's simple tastes it seems like her parents came from an entirely different planet. I approve of her wardrobe though. And she likes to read heavy classics like Dante. There's some hope for my aunt yet. But she can't cook. At all. We're lucky it's actually peanut butter in the sandwitches and not...well, best not to image the possiblities. My brother reads. Sometimes. Ok, never. I think in this shot he was actually looking up CD release dates in a metal magazine. But we get along really well. It's only natural after all--he's my twin. As I mentioned before this is our cat bubblegum. Aka sugar---at least, before she got in the way of my hairspray. Oops. Bubblegum likes to sleep alot--especially on my bed. She would sleep on Noir's but one time she almost got stuck because the bed folds up into the wall and Eve didn't see her behind his pillow. Bubblegum learned her lesson--she avoids Eve like the plague. Our aunt is always worried about something. I think she's paranoid but she says it's because the house is haunted... Eve is really nice though and goes out of her way to take care of us. I should explain--she's not really our aunt. More like a third cousin twice removed or something. Our parents died in a car accident when we were kids and Eve, who's adopted, understands what it's like to not have family. Which partly explains why she can't cook. Ok, maybe it doesn't. She's a terrible cook and almost burned the house down last week. However--there are exceptions to the rule. Like tonight--the fire alarm going off wasn't a surprise. The suprise was Noir going emo in the corner. Yeah---not guilty. Right... I just sat there calmly eating my perfectly cooked spaghetti. Needless to say Noir doesn't say anything now when Eve serves burned burgers. He just glares at her. But that doesn't mean I have to be polite. Stay tuned next week when we find out bubblegum has been watching the pet dating channel...
