These are my parents standing in front of the house my dad built brick by brick. They're always so happy together and prefer each other's company to hosting a party.

He's very creative and likes to take things apart by hand. My mom is a little more reserved but very kind. My mom's family comes from Luxembourg. She says that's why she has a natural talent for making delicate pastries. This is my room. My parents won't let me play with dolls so I have a lot of stuffed animals instead. The painted portrait is my mom on her wedding day. Her hair was a lot shorter then. I have a lot of pictures of my family but I could never find one of me when I was a baby. I've looked all over but mom and dad refuse to talk about it... My parents work very hard and have spoiled me ever since I can remember. They treat me like a little doll...mom is very good with kids and dad has mentioned wanting a son to help in his workshop. I would love to have a little brother to play with. This is our parlor. Mom isn't very good at decorating. I don't think blue matches the yellow chairs but mom says it reminds her of her home in the country. Most of the furniture came from my grandparents. They passed away when I was a baby---I don't remember them at all. This is my father's work shop. As you can see my mom likes green. A lot. Dad spends a lot of time up here making toys. He used to be an architect before he injured his leg. He stays up really late every night making kites, clowns, and music boxes. He even knows how to make grandfather clocks and wooden birds that sing. See? I told you she likes green--even in the bathroom. The wallpaper was a wedding gift from my grandparents. My dad built this entire hallway himself. He says he likes the smell of white oak best. Sometimes when he's at work and it's too cold to go outside I skip rope in the upstairs hallway. This is our garden in spring. My dad even added a separate space for me behind the garden where I can play with my toys. My favorite is the octopus wiggler which squirts water from its eight tentacles. I'm glad I can play inside the brick walls--I don't like wearing a bathing suit in front of other people. Usually I wear long sleeves, even to bed. When I go to school mom made long dresses for me to wear that cover my arms and legs. Because I can't forget...that I'm a doll...
