happy reading, please comment :3 As soon as the taxi made its turn in the corner, Cori excitedly opened her eyes. She gasped at the charming brick house before her. It was nothing like the row houses in New York; although it was small, it was bright and wasn’t stuffy. ‘Now Cori,’ she said to herself as if to lecture. ‘You came to Marseille to study and work, not to have a vacation.’
After lecturing herself with a giggle, Cori picked up her three woven trunks and started for the door. She held one by the handle and the other two snug under her arm since both have broken handles.
 ‘You should fix those.’
Cori turned her head as she placed her trunks on the porch. The voice sounded authorized, like that of a teacher, but it was only a girl about her age.
 ‘I’m Pange Holly,’ the girl said as she help up her hand. ‘We’ll be sharing the house.’
With a smile, Cori took Pange’s hand and shook it. ‘I’m Cori Lidner.’
 As they went inside the house Cori studied her housemate. Pange’s hair was a mild custard color and her eyes were deep mocha. ‘If she would’ve been a pastry, she’d be a chocolate tart.’ Cori thought. ‘The house has only one room, but it’s big enough for two.’ Pange said as she opened the door.
She was right, the room was spacious. It had two identical beds, desks, chairs and drawers. The floor was white pine and the walls were papered with cream and mocha.
 ‘It’s finally done.’ Cori cried as she stretched her arms and folded them at the back of her head. She just finished unpacking and cleaning up her side of the room when she noticed a doll on Pange’s shelf. Noticing her line of sight, Pange closed her book and looked at the doll.
‘I got it from a pastry shop.’
 Cori just hummed an answer, indicating she heard her. She stood up and walked to the door. ‘I’m going out for a while. Do you want anything?’
Regardless of being seen or not, Pange shook her head and Cori walked on.
 Forgetting her fright of unfamiliar places and her natural tendency to get lost, Cori trudged on until her legs became weary. She found a bench nearby and sat. ‘It’s a public bench,’ she thought to herself. ‘It’s natural to sit in a public bench. No Frenchman can blame you for sitting on a public bench!’ After sitting and staring into space she finally accepted she was lost.
She was about to cry when a warm heavy hand perched briefly on her back.
‘You’re late, Lidner.’
She turned to see who it was. Naturally, a girl’s reaction would be to jolt, slap and call the man a pervert but she didn’t. The man before her looked ragged, yes, but he didn’t feel dangerous – despite the fact that he’s wearing sunglasses at night.
‘I’m Richard Giovanni, the manager of the Marseille branch.’
