Somebody Say Something! Chapter 2. A St. Valentine's Story for the Summer Solstice (which incidentally is also my birthday). Original story idea by Paul Khanna. All photography by kidnumber48. Words by kidnumber48 and Paul Khanna. Thanks to makers of any custom content used. This is Cameron. 30-years-old, owner of an advertising agency, boyfriend of Mariella and sometime drinker of potions of invisibility! When we left Cameron he was just starting to realise that something was terribly wrong! He couldn't understand why people were ignoring him. So he stampeded out of the back door of his office. "I need fresh air to clear my brain!" He headed straight for the local park. When Cameron got to the park he bought himself a cup of coffee from a vending machine to steady his nerves, then sat on a nearby bench to drink it and think things over. Soon a woman came and sat on the bench next to him. She ignored him and just stared into the flower beds. An eccentrically-dressed stranger came past just then and asked the woman if she could spare any change. The woman gave him 10 Simoleons. Cameron expected to be approached next but the man just rudely strutted past him. Cameron chased after the man and shouted,"How dare you ignore ME, you weirdo!!!" He was so incensed, he threw the dregs of his coffee into the man's face! Then something utterly surreal happened. The man grabbed Cameron's hands and stared straight into Cameron's eyes. Cameron felt the man start to vibrate like an unseen force was surging through him. Then the sky suddenly darkened and the man pulled out a gift and proffered it to Cameron. Cameron was surprised by his own reaction. He felt happy and reached out for the present like a greedy child. "Give it to me!" cried Cameron. Cameron took the present and enthusiastically started to tear at the paper and ribbon. Inside the package was the Gypsy Morwenna's cat Snaggletooth. Snaggletooth spoke to Cameron in a hissing woman's voice.
"Hold me close so that I may whisper in your ear," commanded Snaggletooth. Cameron obeyed hypnotically and listened as Snaggletooth spoke. "You want to know what's happening to you, don't you? You must come back to the Morwenna's store.......Only there will you discover the truth!" As Cameron placed Snaggletooth back on the ground, the cat seemed to shape-shift. A blue liquid appeared on the ground and the cat seemed to grow two tails!!! Then the Gypsy Morwenna suddenly rose from the ground herself in a swirl of greenish-blue dust. A gentle smile illuminated her face. "Come see me," she whispered softly. Then she suddenly produced a two-pronged wand...... She held out the wand, swirled it in the air three times and was gone! Cameron set off for Morwenna's store with much haste!!! After running only a few yards, Cameron was ABSOLUTELY exhausted! So he tried to hail a passing taxi but the driver couldn't see him. When the driver pulled up outside a deli and went inside, Cameron got in and lucky for him the keys were still in the ignition. Cameron floored the gas pedal and drove as fast as he could to Morwenna's shop. When Cameron arrived at the shop, he raced up to the window and started to rap loudly on the glass. He peered in and saw Morwenna but she just ignored his frantic bangings. Morwenna came over to the window and just stared straight through Cameron as though she couldn't see him. Cameron starts to lose his temper,"What's the matter with you, you stupid witch?! You told me to come here! I've come and you ignore me. I was fine until I drank your stupid potion! You've got to listen to me. I demand you listen to me!" Cameron covered his face with his hands and started weeping pitifully, wailing like a small, lost child. "Pleeeeaaassse!" he beseeched Morwenna. Morwenna finally relents and opens the door to her shop..... But as Morwenna opened the door, Cameron's manner abruptly changed! He sneered at Morwenna angrily....... He grabbed her roughly around the waist. "Give me the antidote! Give me something!" he bellows into Morwenna's face! Morwenna just stares at him in anger and says nothing. Cameron runs inside the shop and starts to smash things up! He overturns tables and dashes cauldrons of bubbling potions to the ground! Cameron shakes his head. "OK, I shouldn't have done that. Please I'm desperate! I need your help." "You've just smashed the antidote!!!!!" Morwenna declared, with a strange smile on her face. Cameron's bottom lip began to quiver as he started to absorb the full horror of what he had just been told! Find out next time if Cameron will ever be seen again! "Happy Summer Solstice!" from Cameron and Mariella.
