Out Of Ordinary (Part 2)
This is the last part to this story. Had lots of fun creating this story. I personally thank each one of you who took time reading this. Thank you, thank you. I love your feed back, good or bad, let me know what you think. ^.^
Lost in thoughts, Tom tried to collect himself. He couldn't believe his eyes, maybe the drinks were making him delusional ....oO (thoughts) Harry! You hound dog you! She's incredibly beautiful, what did she see in you? ...Oo Dottie started to worry about the stranger, he looks harmless but so lost she thought to herself. "Sir are you okay? Did you get yourself lost?" She walked out the door concerned. oO ...Yeah that's it , thought Tom now with a good excuse. "Why yes, Mam. I think I stayed on the bus too long and got off the wrong stop. I feel so foolish, I hope I'm not disturbing you." "Why no, your not disturbing anything. Say, why don't you come in and take a look at the bus schedule and see when the next one leaves." Dottie replied always enjoying to be a help. "I always keep an extra copy in here," Dottie said cheerful. It was good to have company she thought and wondered what he was doing for lunch. It would not be a problem fixing a bite to eat for someone else. She would enjoy that. Finding the schedules, she handed them to Tom, "Here you go." Tom was rehearsing the next step in his mind, "Ah thanks, that will help." Tom was pretending that he was interested in the schedules, "Hmmm The next bus stop will be..."
Dottie jumped in quickly before he had to leave, hopefully not too soon, "I'm sorry I didn't catch your name, you can call me Dottie...."
Tom felt his face flush, "Oh please forgive me... Dottie, let me introduce myself," he stood up and extended his shakey hand, "I'm Tom, Tom Anton, you can call me Tommy..." feeling dumb he thought to himself, Tommy??! Get control of yourself, boy.
"Then it shall be, Tommy." as soon as it came out of Dotties lips, Tom wanted to smack himself.
Dottie asked in a real soft voice, more like a plea, "You don't have anything important keeping you, do you Tommy? Maybe you can stay for lunch..."
Going real smooth Tom thought to himself, "Of coarse I can stay for lunch, I never am too busy to eat." Tom again wants to kick himself for the way he response, it's like a wild dog loose from it's collar. Uncontrolable.
"That's just splendid Tom! Oh I'm so glad you came by... Why, I was thinking how grand it would be to have such good company." And off Dottie strolled into the kitchen humming a cute tune.
As she reached for the ingredients, she thought she heard Tom whistling the same made up tune she was just humming, giggling to herself she couldn't help but think of Harry who use to be as handsome as Tom, but Tom seems so shy and such a nice man. Dottie started to wonder if Tom had a family, she would sure enjoy meeting them. Tom just realized he was whistling, he was so busy in his thoughts he couldn't even hear himself. Why couldn't he feel bold and woo Dottie, just like he had no problem in the past with his flings. Tom was feeling un-experienced, it was as he never meet a female ever. His tongue felt tied saying things awkard, strange now that his stomach now is affected and feeling an odd type of floaty. What next he began to go into deeper thoughts, oh did he have to question himself... his palms are sweaty! What does this mean, this never happened to him. As Dottie served the lunch, she called to him,"Tom, what dressing would you like? I have Thosand Island, Blue Cheese and Ranch."
"Thousand Island please," Tom snapped out of his deep thoughts and headed towards her voice.
"So.." Dottie couldn't help herself any longer, "Do you have a family or just a girlfriend? You seem like such a nice man, you must be taken..."
"Uhh, no mam.. I mean Dottie I don't. But thank you for the compliment, that was very nice of you."
"Oh I see, living life up?" Dottie poked fun at him and he turned beat red. "I'm just kidding you, but I'm sure in time you will find that perfect girl."
Tom's eyes seemed like they locked right into hers, he had an urge to just touch her soft face, he gripped his hands tighter incase they too had a mind of their own.
Now he knew for sure he couldn't go through this, he'll have to tell Harry to find a replacement. He could feel his face twisting, hands clenched and now teeth grinding to keep from saying anything foolish. "Oh Geez, look at the time! Where does it go so fast? I better get going! You'll have to excuse me Dottie. But it's been a pleasure." Tom anounced, the best excuse he can think of. He noticed her expression and suddenly felt bad.
"I'm so very glad you came by when you did Tom. It's only been an hour and I feel as I've known longer, so much longer." Dottie sighed and looked like she just heard bad news.
"Well.." Tom impulsivly replied," You can come my place tonight, since you were such a great hostess, I can return a favor." Oh no Tom thought, why did I do that?? I need to cut it off!
"How nice of you Tom! I'd certainly stop by. Your such a sweet soul." Dottie went to get her purse to write down his address.
Quickly he tried to walk out, while she put the information back in her purse. But she called him to wait one minute and pracitaclly ran into him, she put her hands on his shoulders and said, "Oh wish you didn't have to go so soon." and gave him a peck on the check. Tom suddenly felt light - hearted, wished that moment didn't have to end. He swore he thought he was melting. Soon Tom was on his way. Dottie thought that must of been the most interesting day she experienced in a while. Back to old routine, but only for a bit. Tonight has her in suspence, she could hardly wait. Her friends are never this lively... always around the poker table or talking about soap operas. She was feeling refreshed and alive. When Tom reached his apartment, he seen that Harry was good to his word and stayed as promise... Now he had to think and reason his way out of this. "Harry, I CAN'T do this! I feel too vulnarable around her and besides I might even have feelings for her, look I don't want to feel like a fool running around with his head cut-off." Tom was never good at reasoning. Harry listened and listened, but wasn't giving in.
"Get your rest, you been drinking all night. I won't listen this flubberish no more. Tom-my-man, you need to let the old you come out, you can do this. I will be around to make sure you don't mess up." Warned Harry.
"Grrreat" Tom replied sarcastic and followed his orders anyways.
Sleep crept in and Tom was out. Night came by and... ..And Harry knew the time was drawing closer. He told himself that Tom really isn't that bad of a guy, just odd. "Rise and shine! We have work to do!" bellowed Harry.
"Yeah right, you mean I have work to do." groaned Tom slowly moving along.
Harry growing impatient went to the dresser and threw some clothes Tom's way. "Wear those, you must look decent. Hurry, time is a wasting."
Tom looked at the suit and said, "Isn't this too fancy?" "No!" replied Harry with no tolorance to Tom's testiness. Clapping with his hands loudly,"Must you move like a snail, get some wheels on and zoom."
Harry muttered a few words beneath his breath. Tom couldn't make them out as he was buttoning his cuff. "Now what!?" Tom spoke out, peered over his shoulder to see the disapointed look on Harry's wrinkly face.
"You young ones! You all think the suits don't need to be hung or ironed. Must be hell to look crisp." Harry went on, but stopped when they both heard a knock on the door.
"Answer the door, it's got to be her, Dottie...." Harry rushed him and then vanished.
"Come in! It's open." Tom yelled across the room. The door opened and Dottie stepped in, "Oh my, what a place! So different, but inviting. You have a marvelous place Tom." Dottie waltzed across the floor looking like a million dollars. Tom once again struggles with his thoughts. "You look wonderful!" Tom's arms were out of control swept Dottie off her feet. A little shocked and blushing, Dottie was charmed, "You look handsome yourself," she stepped back to take a better look, "Almost as a perfect picture." Oh no thought Tom, there she goes with those eyes, those- those eyes, I must not look! But Tom failed. "Oh just look at the beautiful fish you have! That is something." Dottie was now checking out his place. "Allow me, I'll show you around," Tom was trying to be a gentleman. Tom ran across the room and jumped in the air landing on the sofa," This is my favorite sofa, had it for a couple years now. And this...." he was running around his house at full speed which made Dottie giggle at his energy. "Check this out.." he demanded playfully. When she rushed over to see what it was that he wanted her to check out," Oh! Uhh I think I'll just get some fresh air." She was embarassed and shocked that he was so free-spirited.
"Wait!" chuckled Tom, "I'm fooling you! I'm not without clothes." Now Tom felt more like himself, in control.
"You knew I was kidding you right..?" Tom was getting little worried.
"Of coarse... I should be going home anyhow. I should get some rest." Dottie felt a bit awkward now for some unknown reason.
"Let me walk you home, alright?" Tom's voice dropped low and raspy.
"It's quite alright. But thank you for everything." Dottie swooped up her purse and out the door she left.
Tom knew something was wrong. Why was he feeling bad he wondered? He wanted this to end or did he? He was just starting to be comfortable around her.
What went wrong rang through Tom's mind over and over. With a long drawn out sigh he felt helpless. He kept thinking how beautiful she was... but also how worried or sad she seemed.
"Go after her, now!" a stern voice came loud and clear.
Harry walks through the wall shaking his head, " Go now! Don't just sit there like a frog on a log."

"You know, you really have to stop dropping by like that." Tom sighed.
"It's no use! I'm telling you, she doesn't want me around her I bet. And now I want to see her more than anything, she's probably thinking I'm too immature or something like that..." complained Tom.
"Snap out of it, Tom-mo-thon! Get a grip, now be the man, call her..." Harry urged.
"I can't, I don't have her phone number...." Tom whined.
"Hmmph, now that's a problem! You young ones so unorganized." Harry knew that was a lie, he too was in that boat or is.
When Dottie arrived home, she had to question herself one more time, "Okay what is it that you want?
Friends- yes,
Attract friends- maybe,
Attractive young friends- no, maybe, no... no!
Just doesn't seem right being attracted to Tom, he still has a whole life ahead of him.
Dottie let out a yawn. "No, it's just not fair to him." trying to fight sleep, she couldn't win the battle. Fast asleep. The only sound were crickets in the distance. Back at Tom's place, Harry is having a dickens of a time with him.
"So... you think I should just break into her house to talk to her? Maybe your obsessed with this child thing more than she is!" Tom stood proud in his arguement.
"Just go, you need to hurry! Don't argue with your elders. Your starting to get on my nerves!" Harry barked.
"I can't believe I let a ghost win this battle! I should of invested in climbing insurance..." "Oh my... I can't believe this!! I feel dizzy...." Tom was trying to make his head stop spinning. "Ahhh, Oh no! If I live through this, Harry you so owe me!" Tom said as his life flashed before his eyes. "Oh - kay! That was too close!" Tom now feeling older than Harry is. Looking from the outside, Tom sees that Dottie had fallen asleep on the sofa instead of her bed. Something must of really upset her thought Tom. He looks for the lock to pick, with a different feeling coming over him, he does not regret coming here now. As he reaches down to carry her to bed, she awakes... "Tom.... what are you doing here?" Dottie said sleeply.
" ..I don't really know, are you... okay?..." Tom said thoughtfully.
"Tom how on earth did you get up here? You must of climbed the balcony.." wondered Dottie.
"Oh I did, and I'm sorry..." Tom was also thinking he should of shaved better.
"Why would you do such a thing? ...for me? ..Tom..?" Dottie wanted to hear what was going on in his mind.
"I don't know how and where to begin without you thinking I'm crazy." Tom WAS thinking about Harry making his wife happy, but now it's about him. Tom wants to make her happy."I just feel empty when I see you like this, I can feel that, honestly." "But now that I'm here, I feel 200% better. And I have a very important question..." Tom looked mysterious to Dottie. "Will you take me as your husband?" Tom was serious.
"I will!" squealed Dottie.
After their marriage both Tom and Dottie lived happily ever after. Even when Harry still insist that they should carry out that one wish of his wife's.
