Hello everyone and welcome to Design on a Simoleon. I'm your host, Joy Bishop. Today we will be working on a house that really needs some help. We will budget the design to spend as little as possible and still have a great design. Let's go and meet the family wee'll be helping out today. Jen Secret is a single mother of a young daughter named Alexis. Though Jen's family is beautiful, the house... Well, that's another story! Jen has just recently moved into this one bedroom one bath home. The cost of homes have skyrocketed so much that Jen had to buy the cheapest furniture she could find with the little money she had. We are going to make Jen's dream come true by giving her a beautiful inexpensive new home. So Jen what kind of things would you like to see in your new home? Is there any particular style you would like to see in your home? Not really. I'll leave the design up to you. With that Jen was on her way and we set to work on the bathroom. This bathroom is a complete mess. There is so much space and it is not being used. First we'll tear out the plumbing. Next, in goes the tile and cherry colored paint. Nice colors. These colors should make the bathroom seem less empty. Here is an overhead veiw of the finished bathroom. Now to the next task. Jen and Alexis' bedroom is a disaster! There are two beds and, well that's it. We're going to make this room Alexis'. While the designer is fixing up the bedroom, let's have a look at the kitchen. There's not much to it. Jen mentioned to me that she loves to cook and she really doesn't have the right tools for that. Since the layout, well, stinks, we are going to reconfigure the whole floor plan. We have decided also that Jen needs a second floor. But before we get too excited, we must complete the downstairs floor plan. We have finished the kitchen and dining room. Now it is time to get rid of those horrid windows. They do nothing for the space. Out they go!!! We put in two beautiful double pained windows and added a great green colored paint with a beadboard wainscoating in white wood. The colors really open up the space. Now for the upstairs. We are adding four rooms to the upstairs. One for Jen's bedroom, one for an office, a sitting room, and a bathroom. I think Jen's gonna love it! We've matched the upstairs entryway to the downstairs entrance to get a flow from downstairs to upstairs. Here is the completed upstairs. Here is the completed downstairs. While we were working on the interior, the helpers have been working on the exterior. I think it turned out pretty nice. Now that we are finished with the entire house, let's go get Jen and Alexis. You can open your eyes now Jen. Oh my gosh!!! It's wonderful. Jen: Thank you so much Joy. You deserve a hug
Joy: No, that's okay, I'd rather not.
Now time to see Alexis' reaction to her new room. Her room turned out very well.

(I'm not sure who made the bed design and wall. If you know who, please let me know.)
"Wow. I love it" Joy: So how do you like the kitchen.
Jen: I love it. This is my dream kitchen! I can cook everything in here!
Jen: Can I open my eyes?
Joy: Yes, go ahead.
HHHHHHHHHH! I love it! How did you know black and white are my favorite colors??? Jen: Listen Joy. I want to thank you one last time for fixing my house. I love it! Really, I mean it. Thank you. Well, another happy family. I'm Joy Bishop, see you next time on Design on a Simoleon.

Please be a little considerate, but leave suggestions. This is my very first story. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue this "show". So let me know if you want more! Sorry about any grammar mistakes!

It's fun! I like how you made it into a house-improvement tv program. I love those in real life! If you're planning to make another one, maybe a nice suggestion would be to do some "stock motion" shots. Like, if you were looking in the bedroom and then plop the walls and floor appear, plop the beds, plop other furniture, plop plants and wall decorations... all from the same camera view. The easiest way to do this is in build mode. Just decorate your room to your hearts content, then choose an angle, press C, then use the "undo/back" button to undo your changes, and press C again, etc. Until the room is back to it's old state. ^_^ I know it's backwards, but it's easier than trying to decorate a room from one angle. LOL. ^_^ Yeah, anyway. This was fun to watch. ^_^
