Hello and welcome to the second part of "The True Confessions of Clementyne Whittaker". If you did not read part one, I would suggest to you to go back and read it or you might be terribly confused! I hope you enjoy part 2! When we last left off, Clementyne was busy thinking of her dead parents and wishing she had been closer to them. Clementyne was getting tired of being cooped up, so she went to take a walk at the park. She met a man named Houston and they became friends instantly. When she got home, the phone rang and she expected it to be Houston. But she realized as soon as she picked up the phone that this was not Houston... "Dad??? Is that you?...How...what...why?" "Yes Clementyne, it is me. I have waited so long to hear your voice. Too long. I feel terrible about the whole situation. Really, I do. Look I can't really talk about this over the phone. Is there anyway I can meet somewhere?"........"Your place at six? Alright that sounds great. I'll explain everything when I see you..mhmm...okay, bye" Clementyne was worried about this. Why had her father suddenly "appeared" from the dead. She thought that he had been dead. If he was lying to her this whole time, she would be very angry. She couldn't beleive that all these years moping around for her parents being dead was for nothing. Well, actually, her father never mentioned to her if her mother was still alive or not. She was just angry with them and herself. Them for lying about their death and herself for beleiving the lie. Clementyne decided that she would make a Berry pie for them to discuss things over. She did not remember much about her father, but the one thing she did remember was how much he loved berry pie. Cooking always calmed Clementyne's nerves and this was the perfect time to do that. Just as the pie was finished, Clementyne heard the doorbell ring. She walked over to see her father outside of the door. He looked significantly older than when she last saw him. His hair was now grey and his wrinkles were deep crevices on his cheeks. She could barely open the door, but she forced herself to. She had to find out what was going on. As Clementyne opened the door, her father went in for a hug, but Clementyne pushed him away. She then realized just how akward this "meeting" was going to be. Anything to do with her father had always been un-loving confrentations. She didn't even know why her father had tried to hug her. Clementyne could not remember the last time her father and she had had any loving moments. As soon as they sat down, George (Clementyne's father) had begun to talk. "You know Tina, I never meant to hurt you. I always loved you deeply. I respected you and I feel badly for everything you went through in your life. I only wish now that I would have divorced your mother. But she is dead now, so we can start fresh." "Dad, no one's called me Tina for years. And does that mean that mom's dead for real? Why did you want to divorce her? You were just as bad, if not worse than her! You need to think of a much better apology than that to get me to trust you and love you again. I've suffered so much for not having a good relationship with you. I felt so bad I didn't get to truly love you before you "died" and here you are alive as anything!" Clementyne could feel herself getting heated up. She couldn't even bear to look at her father. Was he trying to blame everything on her mother? "Clementyne, I don't think you realize how your mother was. I know you may not beleive me, but your mother was extremely controling and abusive. She was a witch who would do anything to reach the top. She forced me to be that way to you. I had to. She said that if I didn't discipline you the way she told me to, she would kill me and take my inheritance and you would be disciplined by the toughest most brutal person she could find. I was scared for you. I tried to go to the police countless times, but it just made things worse. The police would never listen. Your mother was at the top of the law enforcement career. She could do whatever she wanted to and still get away with it. I wanted to be close to you, but I couldn't unless your mother was gone. I tried to get out of the house with you a countless number of times, but I never made it past the end of the block. We only had one car and it belonged to your mother." Clementyne couldn't beleive what she was hearing. She did remember times when her father was kind and caring to her. And if she remembered correctly, her mother was not in the house. She decided right then and there that she would give her father a chance to redeem himself. A chance to show Clementyne what he was really like. Clementyne watched as her father made his way back home. She was proud of herself for allowing her dad another chance. She wanted proof, still, that he could be the loving person he claimed to be. She hoped that person would come to Clementyne. She hoped he would prove his worth. She wanted badly to love her father, and she knew that if he worked hard enough, someday she would. It wasn't long after her dad left that the phone rang once again. "Hello," Clementyne said. "Oh, hi Houston. Sure, I would love to. Okay than, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." Clementyne was so excited to go no her date with Houston. The date was scheduled for tomorrow and she had to get a new wardrobe. So she headed to the store. This day was packed with excitement! When Clementyne had returned from the store, night had fallen. Her new look was different than Clementyne was used to. She was excited for her date with Houston. She couldn't wait until the next day when he would take her out to dinner. Clementyne had to rest to digest the day. This was by far, the fullest day of her entire life. She needed time to think about everything and sleeping was a great way to sort out her thoughts. When Clementyne woke up the next day, it was two o'clock in the afternoon. That was the best sleep Clementyne had ever gotten. She was excited to begin another exciting day. Clementyne lounged around all day waiting for night to fall once again. Finally when it did, Clementyne went upstairs to get ready for her date. Houston would be coming to pick her up at any moment. Clementyne curled her hair for the evening and set out to the restaurant. She was so happy that Houson had called her before she could call him. She couldn't wait to see him. Houston came to pick Clementyne up about ten minutes before she was expecting him, but she was happy to see him. Clementyne loved that he was a gentelman enough to come and pick her up. Houston loved Clementynes new look and he happily escorted her to the car. Houston's car was not the best, but it was nice for him to offer to take them. Clementyne had a nice talk with him in the car. She felt as if she knew this man all of her life, though she only knew him two days! The night was great. They started flirting and blowing each other kisses. Clementyne was sure she was falling in love. Though she didn't want to be more than friends at first, Clementyne knew that Houston was the one. The dinner was great and Clementyne was the happiest she had been in ages. She was having the time of her life. The dinner went on until the wee hours of the morning and the two of them were doing much more talking than eating. The best part came next when Houston slid over a little black box to Clementyne. She knew what it was, but she half-expected it to be something else. She opened it up with hesitation, and it was the most beautiful ring she had seen in her life. She was extremely pleased, but she was unsure at first of what to do. She had, in fact, just recently met this man, but on the other hand, she was in love. She slipped the ring on her finger, now positive that this was the right desicion. She grabbed Houston's hand and gazed into his eyes. She knew that things would be looking up from then on. Or so she hoped...
