Welcome to a special Apartment Edition of Extreme Sim Homemakeover! Here is Valerie, she just inherited this old abandoned apartment complex in Belladonna Cove. This old building, one of the first apartments in Belladonna COve, is deterorating quickly, so Valerie has asked us to come in and have us help her make give this place an Extreme Makeover! But first, let's take a little peek at what we can expect to be working with. Downstairs in the entrance, it is overgrown with weeds coming in from outside and garbage. Inside one of the apartments, debris and garbage covers the area. The walls are peeling, and the floor is covered with dirt. We have a lot of work in store for us! The rest of the apartments look something like this as well. After examining the building, Valerie hangs her head in disbelief about how bad of shape the building is in. But, we're here to fix it. Before we begin clearing the building out, and beginning work, let's see what Valerie would like done.

Valerie: Well, I would like it to at least look, well, clean, warm and inviting. The way it looks now, isn't the greatest. But, I would also like to have each apartment be affordable for the average sim. I guess that's about it.

Well, now it's that time in which Valerie must leave and we can begin work. Outside, we brought in our first garbage bin, and all of this stuff is just from the downstairs entrance. Outside, the garbage pile contines to grow. In the downstairs apartment, the kitchen wall has been ripped out, and the counters and appliances have been thrown out. Before we continue, the garbage is going to be hauled out so we can continue to clean up some more. There, all the garbage is just about gone now! It's time now to begin the actual construction (and demolition). The first part of demo begins here in the playground. When the building is done, we will put in a new little playground. The playground is gone, and some new beams are going up. Out front, more beams are going up. The front entrance is being expanded out a little bit. The frame work is going up very well now. The new entrance is perhaps the biggest part of the whole addition project. On the roof, some of the wall surrounding the outdoor common area has been torn down so the front area could be expanded into it. With the supports all up, the walls went up easily. At the top of the entrance, a dome roof has been installed. The front is looking great now! Inside, work is beginning in the new hallway leading to the apartments. In the floor level addition, it will be made into recreation rooms. The walls have begun to go down in the 1st floor apartment level With this level all gutted out, the new lumber has arrived to begin working down here. But first, the next level will be gutted out. Both of the apartment floors are completely gutted out! Now, it's time to be laying out the new apartments. In the lower apartment level, instead of being four apartments, there will only be two. The upper apartment level will also be divided into two apartments instead of four as well. With work moving along quickly on the inside, outside, the new siding will be installed. The new siding is going up nicely, and the new awnings have been installed over the living room windows. Back inside, one of the apartments nears completion. The rest of the apartments will look similar to this. A very simplistic style. Back outside, more of work on putting up the siding and new awnings is progressing well. Once again inside, all four of the apartments are complete. They all have kitchens and bathrooms will all the plumbing installed. All that is left is to finish the siding and finish furning the floor level common area, and build a new playground. In the first of the two common areas, a several bookcases with a variety of books have been brought in for those that like to read. Several computers have also been installed for residents to use. In the other common area, a pool table and bar area have been installed. Outside, the siding is finished, and all that is left to do is to build a brand new playground... ...and instead of building it on the ground, we put it on the roof where it is large enough for children to have room to play, and there are walls high enough around it for protection. Some final touches are added to the building- some new trees line the front and sides of the building, and voila! The building is complete, and ready for new tenats to move in! Let's call Valerie back to see what she things! Valerie: Wow, I just can't believe how much different this place looks! I mean, I know there wasn't much of an addition put on, but just by making the front entrance bigger with an arch on top, and new siding makes a whole world of difference! It feels just some more homey and livable! I can't wait until some families move it!
