Welcome to the sixth edition of Extreme Sim Homemakeover! And today, we're doing a very special makeover, here in Laketown at the Main Street Store. Recently, the store, which is the town's biggest store, and biggest employer was set on fire. ...and it was this man who did it. This was the tragic fire that destoryed the building. So, we're going to surprise the town my doing an extreme makeover to it! Here is one of our crew members who will be aiding in the cleaning up. Cleanup inside begins... Work continues late into the rainy night to see if there is anything to salvage. Now that interior cleanup is finished construction can begin. The walls are beginning to come down. Some parts of the building are so devestated, that the foundation has to be ripped up too. It's hard to believe how quickly the building is coming down. And now, the rest of the building has been cleared. It is a sad sight to see, but it's great to see that cleanup is over, and work on a new building can begin. The new building is going to be moved slightly away from where the old building was. The foundation is going up! Work is moving along quite well! One of the cool new things about this building is that it will have a below ground level to it. As work continues, a nice new pond has been installed too! This is looking really great! This place, which used to be popular to begin with, will be even more so! The other part of the building is now up! Before we continue putting up the walls, we want to install a small parking lot and install a greenhouse. Here's the new parking lot... ...and the greenhouse too! And what's really cool about the greenhouse is that it is over part of the pond. In the back part of the pond, a small place for people who love to fish will be built. Back over to this part, the entrance to the upper level has been built too! And the same has been done over here too! The walls begin to go up now! The outer walls in the first building have been finished, and the elevator shaft is being built now. There! This place is starting to take shape and it's looking great so far! The walls on the other building have begun to go up now! Outback, the small fishing hole has been built. Time is going by so fast! Here it is, early fall, and look at all the progress we've made! When we first started work, we began in the spring cleaning up the rubble, and now, about six months later, we have a full structure to work with. The most important thing to do now is to work on getting the roof up before winter comes! Here's the roofing on building 1. It looks great! ...and now the roof on building two is done! Brand new doors have been installed! Now it's time to install some windows! All the new windows are in! Soon, the siding will be put on. A nice gray brick has been used on the first building. And a nice tan siding has been used on the second building. Now that all this exterior work is done, excepting for the landscaping which will be done next spring, it's time to move onto the interior. And just in time too! Winter has arrived! Back inside... two new bathrooms have been carved out... ...and building one has been divided into two stores on the upper level. Down in the underground level, sheetrock has been put up. Work in the underground level has progressed very well. All the lighting is installed, as well as hardwood and carpet flooring. Before painting the walls, the lights are going to be installed upstairs. Lighting in the first store is intsalled. Lighting in store two has been installed now as well. Time to deal with the plumbing. The bathroom plumbing is completed. Building two is now all lit up! Store 1 in building one is looking great! This store looks great as well! Building two is very nice looking now! And lastly, the new below ground store looks awesome! Now that all the walls and floors are installed, it's time to bring in stuff for the stores! Here is the first store. It looks absolutely great! And so does the brand new grocery store! The downstairs electronics shop is finished too! It's going to be a cool little hangout! And here's the clothing boutique in building two! Here's the inside of the greenhouse. Nothing has been planted yet, but that will done in the spring! The shop complex is close to being ready to open. All there is to do now is wait until spring to finish the landscape. Now that spring is here, it's time to landscape! The nice green grass is now in! Time for some shrubbery and flowers. Here's the entrance to the underground level. It looks great with the shurbbery surrounding the steep hill, and what will be great too is that all these shrubs will help keep the land from sliding down in a terrential downpour. Some trees have been planted and a new sidewalk has been installed. There's only a few minor things left to do. In front of building two, a nice little fountain has been installed... ...some tables and chairs to sit and chat in has been placed... ...and some nice benches have been placed too. The complex is now finished, and is ready to reopen. It has been an amazing transformation, and we're sure the owners will love what we did. The customers are returning to the lot! Business seems to be booming here! Everything is done, the complex is reopen, and business is doing well.
