Welcome to the seventh episode of Extreme Sim Homemakeover. Today we're back once again to Riverblossom Hills on RIver Road with Jenny.

Jenny moved to this town not to long ago, and she loves the home she found, but it's a bit too small for her, and she's not very fond of the landscaping. Let's see what else Jenny wants.
Jenny decides to start in the kitchen.

Jenny: Well, I like where the kitchen is located in the house, but it is a bit small, and only has a couple of windows. I would like to have a nice bay window to look out of. I also don't like how the fridge is located by itself, and not really incorporated into the kitchen.
Onto the bedroom...

Jenny: Again, the bedroom is a bit small, and I would like a bay window in here as well.
In the bathroom...

Jenny: I absolutely hate this room the most. Well, I don't hate it, but I hate that there is no sink, no counters or mirrors or anything like. I can't put any make up on in here. And, I don't like how dark it is in here. There's no windows, and only small lights.
And we end the tour in the living room.

Jenny: Well, what can I say about this room? There's no room to entertain in here. I almost never use this room either. I was just about ready to ditch the sofa and chair and move the TV into the bedroom or kitchen since I spend more time in those rooms. Like the other rooms, I really would like to see more windows. I don't like the dark. I like openness and lots of light.
So now it is time that we send Jenny away and begin work on the house. Since Jenny has finally left, it's time to figure out where to begin. The crew has decided to begin with the pond by trying to get rid of it. The first challenge is now complete. The pond has been completely filled in, and we can move onto the house. In the kitchen, we will be knocking out the wall in red and expanding the kitchen, but before we begin tearing down walls, we will empty the kitchen. One by one the kitchen wall goes down. For now, we have blocked off the door leading into the rest of the house. Construction on the new wall begins Most of the walls are up now, and work on the bay window has started. The new bay window turned out great! But, before we continue in the kitchen, we must move on to other parts of the house. Here is where we will be expanding in the back of the house. And... we're even going to add a second story. Instead of having the bedroom on the first floor, we'll have a second story bedroom and bathroom, and make a larger living room downstairs, and include a smaller downstairs bathroom. Construction is progressing very well. The frame is all up, and now it is time to do all the interior work. Downstairs... the bay window in the living room has been finished. This will provide plenty of light like Jenny wanted. So far, the entrance is the only area of the house that has not been changed. What we plan on doing is keeping this room nearly intact, but, we will create half walls to open the space up a bit and make it feel more open. That has made a huge change in the appearence of the entrance. Now, we will do that to the other wall. By using half walls instead, it has helped to open up the downstairs and create an airy feeling To finish up the entrance, we will take down these hedges and will replace the door and window. That is a huge improvement! Let's see how it looks on the inside! The new door and windows help to drastically alter the look of the entrance! Jenny will surely love it! Over in the kitchen, the new counters are being installed. The kitchen is looking great! There will be plenty of room for Jenny to cook and she'll have a great view of the yard. The kitchen is complete, and it turned out great! The carpeting is down in the living room. It's time to begin work on the walls. The wood panel walls in the living room turned out great! Now that the paneling is done, we're going to install lighting. The rest of the wall lights have been installed, and we had a custom candellabra built and placed in the bay window. The modern furniture in the living room provides a nice contrast compared to the country, rustic kitchen. Some plants have been placed in the bay window with the candellabra. The downstairs is complete now that the downstairs bathroom is done The upstairs hallway is making progress. The upstairs bathroom is moving right along... ...and so is the master bedroom And now, the master bedroom is complete. It will hopefully be big enough for Jenny as it is slightly larger than the original bedroom. The bathroom is also finished. Hopefully Jenny will have enough room to do her makeup now, and she also has a nice large mirror. We're now finished with the interior. The final room was the upstairs landing, which we decorated with some plants and a nice aquarium.

It's time to move on to the exterior and the landscaping.
The next task is to deal with the siding. Here we have a few choices for the siding. We are thinking of using brick for the corners and the pink or white shingle siding. The brick corners are now up, and we can begin siding. The front section is complete. This is much more interesting than the plan white plastic siding Jenny had before. The rest of the shingle siding is up! It's time now for the landscaping! To start, we made the hill out back larger. We're going to build a stepp-like garden. In the front, instead of having hedges that hide the front of the house, we planted some blue flowers and used a paved pathway instead of a dirth pathway leading to the door. After some more work is done on the back, some nice trees will be planted in the front. The garden is going in nicely. The stepp garden continues to progress. I think Jenny is going to like this a lot. It will be a great view from the living room. Let's see now how it looks from the living room. Wow! Once it's finished, the view will be even more amazing! The garden is now finished! Some fresh dirt has been placed around the gardens, and some new grass planted on the hills around it. The landscaping in the front is complete! It's time to bring Jenny home to see what she thinks. Jenny is back, and her blindfold has been removed. Let's see what Jenny has to say.

Jenny: This is just so overwhelming! I can't believe this is actually my home. I love that you kept the entrance almost the same! And the kitchen... it looks great!
Let's see what Jenny thinks of the view of the garden.

Jenny: This view is just breath-taking. Before, I hated being in the living room, and now I think this will be my favorite place to hang out.
The view of the finished garden from the living room. Now, before the show ends, here are some tips and tricks for building some stuff found in this story.

First, the bay window:
Create a wall similar to this one. It must have the two diagonals like so.
Next, add a stage like so along the wall that juts out from the diagonal Third, add a diagonal stage to fill in the gap by the diagonal walls. Fourth, delete the diagonal part of the stage that sticks out like so And last, add windows along the area by the stage. The next tip... building the stepp garden. Note: this requires the Seasons expansion pack.

First, use the medium elevation tool and create a slope in any way like so. Don't worry if it is all jagged right now.
Step 2: Use the smooth terrain tool to create a smoother slope. Step 3: Use the flatten tool to create "steps" in the hill like so. Flatten a spot near the top, and flatten a strip part way down the slope. Step 4: Add stairs to the slope connecting the flat stips of the slope. Step 5: Using the garden tool (that comes with Seasons expansion pack), add a garden along the flattened strip. Step 6: And to finish off the garden, add trees and shrubs inbetween the gardens. And that's it! As for creating a staircase like this, you can find numerous tutorials on creating them. They are called "stealth stairs" and require the use of the cheat code "boolprop constrainfloorelevation true/false". That's it for this episode of Extreme Sim Homemakeover. I hope you enjoyed reading this, and happy simming!
