Sorry for my long absence, but my old computer broke down and I had some problems with my new one.
As usual, please write a comment and vote, but don't forget that English isn't my native language. ^__^
But now ENJOY!!! On the next day Alisha woke up early. She couldn't sleep well all night; nightmares had hunted her all the time. Oliver's and Jessica's faces had appeared again and again, and one more time, she had dreamed from the terrible accident. The fear of the last evening was still troubling her.
She pushed the quilt away and stood up. She was still tiered, but she knew that she couldn't sleep anymore.
Christina had taken care of her the whole night. Although Alisha didn't tell her what had happened, Christina calmed her. Alisha went to the bathroom and took a shower. During she stand under the hot jet, she thought again about what had happened yesterday. How Oliver had stood suddenly in her bedroom, what he had said. What he had wanted.
"I can't." Alisha said quietly and the water still flowed her body down. "I won't give up my life and destroy it by myself. Never."
She turned off the water and stepped out of the shower, dried her hair, put on her clothes and went downstairs to the dining room. She was sure that Christina had made or bought something for breakfast. And really, as she walked downstairs, she noticed the great smell of fresh French pastries.
"Christina, you are an angel." Alisha meant as she saw her putting the food on the dining table.
"I know." Christina said smiling. "Since you were in France you love to eat this, so I got some."
Both sat down and began to eat. After some moments of silence, Christina looked up from her food and took a deep breath.
"Now it comes again." Alisha thought. "She wants to know what happened yesterday."
"I want to know what happened yesterday." Christina really began. "I've never seen you so scared and worried, but I also know that you won't tell me. So I won't ask anymore." Christina took another bite and chewed fast. "But" she said and pointed with her finger at Alisha "you maybe should take a break after the publication of your new album." "Maybe." Alisha replied, starring down on her plate.
"But maybe I won't need a break because if Oliver and his brother go to the press and tell them the story, I can make a break so long as I want. Because then that was it for me and my career is over."
"Oh and I noticed that your alarm system is broken." Christina continued. "I already called the security company and they send someone, who fixes that."
"Good. Thanks." was the only answer she get. "Maybe it's really good that alarm system gets fixed." Alisha thought.
She took another bite and began to feel better. After the breakfast Alisha and Christina drove to the recording studio, where Alisha's manager Alexander was waiting.
"You are on time! I can't believe it!" he greeted them.
"It's Christina's positiv influence." Alisha meant laughing. "Wait a second, I'm thirsty and get some water." Alisha went to the water automat, pressed some buttons to get the water. She felt like desiccated.
But she felt better and saver now.
Then she heard that Christina and Alexander had begun to talk. "I'm a bit worried because of Alisha." Christina told Alexander. "As I came yesterday evening to her house, she was sitting crying on the floor. She seemed to be really desperated and didn't want to say me, what happened."
"Well if she didn't tell you what was, I don't think that it was so important." the manager said.
"Oh and I noticed that the alarm system is broken, it is going to be repaird soon. I thought I should tell you that." Christina continued. Alexander was quiet for a moment, then he began to smile.
"Thanks for settling that, Christina." he thanked her. "I'm really glad that you told me this. It's good to know." Two weeks later
It was the last day of recording. After the alarm system had been fixed, nothing more had happened. No open windows, no undesirabled visitors. Alisha began to forget this things slowly. For her it seemed that the Oliver and Alex had given up. As usual her manager waited for her, but this time he phoned. And he didn't look very happy.
Alexander listened to the voice at the other end of the line. Then he muttered some words into the cell phone, finsihed the call and put the cell phone into his pocket.
"Bad news." Alexander told Alisha after that. "The gardener of your house in Los Angeles called me. He told me that a water pipe broke and the whole cellar and the first floor is completly under water. You can't go there next time, but I managed everything. It will need some time until everything is okay again."
Alisha starred at her manager. "When can I live in my house again?" she wanted to know.
"Well, it will need some weeks till everything is done, so..." Alexander replied but then he got interrupted by Alisha. "In some WEEKS?" she yelled angry. "Why does it need so long? Did you took the slowest people you could find for fixing that?" "Wait Alisha. You can live at my home for this time." Alexander offered. "I knew you wouldn't need this offer, but please acceopt it as a guerdon."
Alisha thought about it for some moments and then she nodded. "Okay I accept it. But I want that you make the craftsmen clear that the have to work fast, because I don't want to waite weeks until I can make a step into my house again." In the meantime - in house in Los Angeles
"Forget it Alex, I won't do that." Oliver told his brother, who had called him. Hi listened for some moments then he began to shake his head and wanted to say something: "But why does she has to come here - "
His brother interrupted him again. Oliver listened untill Alex had finished, then he sighted.
"Alright, I'm going to put the pictures down. When are you going to come home?" After Alex had given the answer Oliver, he said goodbye and ended the call. Oliver sat down and went with his hand through his hair. He didn't liked what he had to do, but he also knew that it was necessary.
Then he began to take down all pictures of Jessica in the house.
Two day later in Los Angeles
Alisha arrived some moment later then Alexander at his house and parked in front of it.
"It's small." was the first thing she thought. Then she saw her manager already walking indoors and she began to get angry.
"Why can't he wait?" she asked loudly and only her cat, that sat in a transportbox behind her seat, meowed one time as an answer. "Thanks for waiting, Alexander!" Alisha told her manager after she went indoors, followed by her black cat.
"You're welcome." Alexander just replied.
"Why is he so strange?" Alisha wondered. He didn't act like always: He had been dissociated oneself from her, didn't speak much and ignored her sometimes clompletly.
"Feel like at home." The manager said then. "I'm going to get your things later." Alisha looked around and didn't liked what she saw. There weren't any decorations, no pictures, flowers or other things that bring a room to life. It looked like nobody would live here.
"What's there?" she asked and showed to one locked door.
"The kitchen." Alexander answered.
"Oh, good." Alisha replied. No she knew the the room, she definitive wouldn't make one step into.
"The guest room is upstairs, the first room on the right." Alexander told her. "Why don't you go upstairs and have a look?" Alisha didn't like her guest room, too.
"It's small, it's bald." She thought angry and sat down on the chair next to the bed. There weren't any things for decoration again, the walls were simply white. Her cell phone made a quiet "ping", the sign for a new message. Alisha lay down on the bed and began to rewrite. She noticed that the rechargeable battery was nearly empty. "I have to load it soon." she decided to do.
After she finished sending the message she stood up and walked out of the guest room. There was another door at the corrider.
"Did Alexander said what is there? I don't think that he did." she wondered, opened the door and went into the room. The felling of this room was different from all the other rooms in the house. A big, black grand piano ruled the whole room. The black floor and the black walls let Alisha feel uneasy.
Alisha began to look around.
"Oh my God, what is that?"
Her eyes get bigger as she looked to one of the walls and she got a gooseflesh. There were three pictures on the wall, three pictures of Jessica.
"Why are there pictures from ...?" Alisha wondered. She began to feel scared.
She looked around and noticed another door.
Alisha opened it and went into the room.
The first thing what she saw was another photo from Jessica.
"That can't be..." Alisha whispered to herself nervous. "Where did Alexander get these pictures from? Why?" She looked around and a second later she new why.
Alisha felt like a world would brake down. A world that had been built up with lies and fakes.
"But why Alexander? Why have you never told me that?" She asked. But Alexander just smiled out of the picture without giving an answer.
"They look so happy." Alisha though and fear began to grow around her heart.
Everything made sense.
It had been Alexander, who told her that it wouldn't be necessary to repair the alarm system. But after it was fixed, Oliver didn't come again, and Alexander was one of the two persons who knew about her broken system.
It had been Alexander who told her that her hous in LA was flooded, she hasn't spoken with the gardener yet.
It had been Alexander who had invited her to his home.
Alisha began trambling, unable to believe that her manager had lied to her.
"That can't be. That can't be!" she spoke with shaking voice.
But Oliver had spoken about his brother Alex; Alex was the nickname of Alexander.
Alisha had to concede that Jessica, the girl she had ran over, Oliver the man who broke into her house and Alexander, who had been her manager for years, were siblings. After Alisha had gone upstairs Alex waited some moments, looking if she would stay uptsairs. As he was sure that she did, he went to the kitchen door and opened it. "Hi Alex!" Oliver greeted his brother, sitting on the counter, eating a dounat and drinking a coke. "Everything alright?"
"It couldn't be better." Alex said smiling and the two brothers hugged.
"She noticed nothing?" Oliver wanted to know.
"No she didn't." Alex meant. "It's good to see you again. Did you take down all the pictures? Where did you stow them away?"
"I hang them on at the piano room and the little room behind." Oliver answered. "You know that I'm not enthusiasm for the idea that she lives here." "Just so long, until she says that she's sorry." Alex meant. "Did locked the doors where the pictures are?"
"I believe..." Oliver said and began to think about. "But I'm not sure, it can be that I've forgotten that."
"You are not sure?" Alex repeated and began to get angry. "I told you to lock the room where you put the pictures in."
"Where is the problem? Anyway, I thought were going to tell her that we are brothers." Oliver replied.
"Are you stupid?" his brother shouted. "If she knows that we are brothers, the first thing she will do is run away! She trusts me, and I wanted that she comes here that you can break in again - here you wouldn't have any risk! Alisha will think that she even can't be save in the house of her manager and then she will go to the police. And then she has to tell that she ran over our sister. Her image will be destroyed forever!"
Suddenly loud noises came out of the living room and the brothers went out surprised. It was Alishas cat Lilly that had begun to use the couch as its scratching post. It destroyed the furniture and distributed its pieces in the whole room. Oliver looked to his brother and saw that he was one second away from exploding.
"Bro..." he wanted to begin as Alex began to yell and to swear.
"This stupid cat!" He said and his voice got a dangerous underton. He threw his hands into the air. "Anyway, why does she have to have a black cat? This pet looks exactly like the cat that I saw before Jess was killed!"
"Alex, calm down." Oliver said and one second later his brother began to climp up the stairs. Alisha had ran out of the rooms to the corridor again, as she heard voices from downstairs.
She was sure that one was from Oliver and one from Alex. Scared she tried to think about what she should do now, but she wasn't able to concentrate. The voices get louder and nearer. "Alex what are you doing now? I thought - " Oliver began asking but Alex interrupted him.
"Forget what you thought." Alex told him and his voice sounded dangerous.
Oliver has never seen his brother like this. It seemed like all the hate of Alisha that he had accumulated in all these years, would come out now. Alisha ran into the guest room and snatched her cell phone. She opened it hastyly.
"Battery empty" was indicated on the display shortly and then the display got black.
"No, not now!" Alisha sweared desperated and stared at her cell phone some moments. "Please, go on." She pressed some buttons, but the cell phone didn't make any sound.
"Damn!" Alisha shouted and threw the cell phone back on the bed.
She could her somebody climbing up the stairs and tears began to rise in her eyes.
She looked around scared. There were two ways to go out of the room: The door to the corridor where she would run into the brothers' arms and the French windows.
Alisha didn't need one second for thinking about it. She went fast outside and stood on the small balcony. She looked down.
It was too high for jumping down. "But I thought we would do these I-break-in-and-scare-her-thing one more time! That was the plan!" Oliver replied Alex angry.
"I cancelled the plan." Alex meant.
"Oh really, and when?" Oliver wanted to know, angry about the fact that his brother wanted to decide everything.
"Now." Alex answered.
The fact was that Alex didn't know exactly what he would do if he saw Alisha, he just knew that he was so angry about her and hated her so much that he had to do something NOW. He didn't care anymore what his brother said. After Alex had looked into the rooms, where the pictures were and couldn't find Alisha, he went into the guest room.
"There she is." he said smiling, feeling the adrenalin flowing through his body. Alisha could see Alex and Oliver going into the guest room.
She was terrified of as she noticed that they had seen her.
Unable to move she stared at the two brothers. She had no idea what she could do to escape. As the two brothers stepped out to the balcony, Alisha saw the angry and malicious exspression on Alexander's face and this sight gave her the creeps. He wasn't her manager anymore, he was the brother of the girl, Alisha had run over.
She tried to step back, but there was the fence and she couldn't move back anymore.
Alex watched how Alisha tried to go away from him, as the sun went down fast.
One moment later a white cloud appeared on heaven and moved down to the three persons on the balcony. As the white cloud came nearer, they couldn't believe their eyes.
An engel with big snow white wings, dressed with a beautiful white dress flow down and landed softly on the floor.
It was Jessica. "You ... you are ..." Alisha stammed as the angel stepped to her. Alisha finally was sure that this girl was the girl she had ran over 5 years ago.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry." Alisha reaffirmed
"I know you are." the angel replied smiling. "But why did you never say that?"
"What...?" Alisha replied stamming, but Jessica turned around and walked to her brothers. They weren't able to believe what they saw.
Oliver went down on his knees, unable to realize that his dead sister stood in front of him.
Alex couldn't look away from his sister. It was a miracle for him. "I have not much time, so I have to make it short." Jessica told her brothers with a soft voice.
"I beg you, forgive her." she said.
"But the killed you..." Alex replied.
"She didn't. It was an accident, the black cat ran in front of her car, and she just tried to make way for it. And the streets were wet, too. So it isn't her fault." Jessica made a short break. "I beg you, forgive her, because she regrets what happened." Then she went some steps back and spreaded her wings. "I miss you." Jessica told her brothers as she began to fly away again. "But I will always take care of you."
And then she flew again to heaven and disappeared. "Did that really happen?" Oliver asked quietly.
The memories of his sister, comming back to the earth, already began to fade.
"I don't know." Alex replied. The harder he tried to save his memories the faster they disappeared, until two words were left:
"Forgive her." Alisha felt down on her knees.
She wasn't sure if that really had happened or if it was just one dream. But she had the present wish now, to say something.
She opened her mouth and the words she spoke, would be the most liberated words, she would speak in her entire life.
"I'm sorry." The end
