Enjoy :D It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, as Hannah was sitting in her favorite café. She should sit there, having a cup of cappuccino and enjoying the sun, but she couldn't. Her mind was stuffed with too much things, twirling around in her head, making her worried.
"Try to remember" had been written on the little piece of paper, lying on her counter between photos of her and a guy she didn't know and a necklace a mysterious - but very handsome - man had bought in the store she was working.
James' reaction as he had seen these things had been terrible: Roaring like a lion he had left her flat, unable to stop swearing like a trooper. Hannah hadn't seen him after this moment and she was glad about that, he had frightened her.
Maybe she should have called the police that someone had broken in her flat, but she hadn't. Hannah was afraid this could worsen the situation - if that was possible.
She reminded how much she had tried to remember - to find something she could connect with the boy of the pictures. Hannah was sure he was the same guy of the store, but that was all.
There was nothing in her head, telling her "You know him". The only thing that appeared was the picture of a grey, big bird, the wings splayed and flying to her. And for her, this was the most confusing thing.
Totally absorbed in her thoughts, she didn't notice anything of her surroundings. Hannah wondered why she didn't felt menaced or scared that someone moved around in her rooms as she wasn't there, maybe touching things, seeing things, descrying things.
Suddenly the feeling that somebody was standing behind her snatched her and Hannah turned her head around fast.
"May I join?"
The deep, masculine voice was enough for Hannah ? she recognized it after the first word was spoken. Suddenly the man's left hand laid before her on the table, the right one grabbed the back of her chair and his face was hovering only some centimeters from hers away. Hannah felt like in a cage, surrounded by the body of this man. Scared she looked up at his beautiful face and as she wanted to refuse, she couldn't speak one word.
"I'll take a seat then." The guy walked around to the second free chair and sat down. His eyes never looked away from her for one short second.
Nervous and fearful Hannah slipped lower into her seat.
"What do you want? You are the one who broke into my flat, aren't you? What are you, a stalker? Why did you do that?" Suddenly regaining her voice again, Hannah's questions were spoken out after some seconds.
Something in her alerted her she should leave this place right away, she should call the police as soon as possible, and ? of capital importance - she should see this guy never again. But there was also a voice in here that told her everything was alright. That her state of total confusion and fear would be only a temporary state.
"You know me Hannah, and you know why I'm doing this." Aiden meant kindly. Hannah starred at him like she had seen a ghost.
"Why do you know my name?" Hannah whispered.
"I know it because you told me. You simply can't remember." Aiden replied and paused for some moments so she could comprehend what he had said.
"But why I'm not able to remember that I did that? I don?t know you, I saw you yesterday for the first time!" Hannah was desperate and her voice broke down for several times as she spoke.
"Did you try to remember?" Aiden replied and the warm tone in his voice calmed Hannah.
"I did." Hannah answered quietly. "I looked at the photos for hours. It's you on the photos, isn't it?" As she saw that he nodded confirming the first tears began rising in the edges of her eyes. "The only thing what I get in my mind is the picture of a bird. But that is crazy. Why should I remember of a bird?"
"It's not crazy, because it was the last thing you saw before your memories got erased." Aiden explained.
Hannah gazed at this man who was sitting opposite to her totally dumbfounded and shocked. She couldn?t believe what he had told her. Erased memories? She knew him? He knew her?
"That IS crazy." Hannah mumbled and stood up. Everything seemed surreal as she glanced around and the question, if there was really a part of her life she couldn?t remember rose up slowly.
The man didn?t say any word and he watched her leaving the table without moving. He didn't turn around, after she had left his visual field.
Aiden knew Hannah needed a little pause, the information he had give so far had been much. He didn't have to wait long and he could see her going to the ladies' restroom. With one gliding movement he stood up, his eyes following Hannah.
Then he went to the bathroom as well.

Eric's finger glided over the filmy sides of the antique violin and one magnificent tone after another sounded. He didn't need his eyes to play - he was part of the instrument. He could feel what he was playing before he actually did it. He grimaced as his sharp ears noticed the sounds of fast approaching footsteps on the floor. Since he couldn't use his eyes, he was mainly depended on his ears and they were so well trained that he knew it was James who rushed to his office. "You're a nag, you know!" Eric sighted and with some carefully movements he put the violin back in its holder. He turned around for hearing James better and realized his hard breathing.
"What do you want James? Why are you here?" he wanted to know. He was curious, since James wouldn't dare to disturb him normally.
"I need your advice, Mr. Davis." It blurted out of him. His afraid and anxious eyes watched how Eric made one slow step after another and finally reached the sofa.
He didn't know what he should do; six years ago Eric had allowed him to do with the girl whatever he wants to, even a marriage had been allowed. And now Aiden was back, meeting his Hannah, talking with her, breaking into their both flat; Aiden wanted Hannah back. But because he was a pureblood and James only a halfblood he had to ask what he was allowed to do against the son of his master.
"Then tell me, what is the problem?" Eric responded sitting relaxed on the crimson sofa.
James began telling the story, without forgetting only one little thing and the blind vampire soaked every detail up like a sponge. After he had heard all, he had to grin. Love was something that complicated everything - without one single exception.
"And what do you want from me now?" "I don't know how I can solve this problem! In the hierarchy I'm under your son, so I can only do what you allow me!" James paused a second and his unrefined hate exploded in him. "If I could do with him what I want to he would be so finished afterwards!" Eric chuckled as he heard this. It was too amusing.
"Bite her." He said.
Thunders trucked James went one step back. He couldn't believe what he had heard and his eyes got wide as he realized this hadn't been a joke. Eric never made jokes.
"But I can't! I haven't told her that I'm a vampire yet and if I bite her she'll change into a vampire! She will hate me!" he retorted.
"You forgot she'll be bounded to you. Forever. She won't be able to live without you even if she hates you, she'll need you. Bite her, make her into a vampire and initiate her in the way of our life. Aiden won't have any change to separate you two then; your blood will link you forever." James turned around slowly, running his fingers through his hair indecisive.
One the one hand he liked the idea because Hannah would need him, her blood would call for him after he had bitten her. One the other hand she would hate him that he forced her to be something she surely didn't want to be.
The vintage long case clock's ticking was the only sound in the room and the minutes began trickling off.
"I'm going to do it." James decided finally. "I'm going to bite her." His voice shook, but he was sure about it. He would do it. "Mr. Davis!" Suddenly the door got opened with a bang and the Eric's secretary stood in the room, her face paler as the one of a ghost, her grey eyes wide opened in shock.
"The second one today, which enters without knocking." Eric stated sighting. "I hope this won't be the new mode!" His tone was still quiet but the others knew he was angry and annoyed.
"Mister, I'm sorry, but something terrible happened!" The vampire spoke out on her breath and her shaky voice approved that.
"What happened?" Eric asked and he heard how the secretary took a deep breath.
"She is dead. Adrianna, the alerter of the Book of the Families died tonight." She whispered.

The cold, quiet room had calmed her down. Luckily she was the only person in the restroom and she was glad that nobody goggled at her as she stood there, watching herself and trying to remember.
Hannah went over the whole talk again. She had two explanations for what had happened: The first one: The guy was totally daft and nuts. The second one: He was really telling the truth - although the truth sounded like from a fantasy novel. And this possible explication scared her even more than the other one. The door got opened suddenly and Hannah's head jerked around sharply. Unconsciously she made one step back as the man came nearer.
"You're still here." He said and began smiling. "I thought you were gone."
"Why should I go?" Hannah replied, but both noticed her trembling voice.
"Because you are afraid. With good reason, I have to confess. You can't remember me; you don't know why I'm doing this." Aiden meant and looked at her tortured.
With two fast steps he stop directly in front of her, and placed right hand on Hannah's left one as gently as he could. Aiden felt her shivering.
"I won't harm you." He whispered into her ear and stepped ever closer.
"What are you doing?" Hannah murmured, feeling her fear increasing.
"I'm helping you to remember." Aiden said and leaded his hand to Hannah's chin.
"Stop that?" she retorted but it was only a feeble attempt.
"I promised you to meet you again, so here I'm. I'm only fulfilling your wish." His voice started being hypnotic and Hannah abandoned to resist.
"Remember the bird." Aiden instructed. "It was the last thing you saw before you forgot." He lifted Hannah's chin a bit and came even closer so their bodies touched. "Remember James, you had known him before you started dating him." He found horror in her eyes as she thought about the idea he had lied to her. "Remember me." Aiden whispered and then his lips touched hers. This must be the feeling you get if you are in heaven.
Aiden couldn't describe his emotions better, the kiss was incredible. He felt her relaxing in his arms and some moments later he knew he had made her heart melt.
Hannah's heart commenced beating like never before. She closed her eyes slowly and it didn't need a second until the picture of the flying bird appeared in her head again.
"We'll meet again." Hannah heard in her head suddenly - although nobody had spoken a word.
"I hope we'll see us again after tomorrow, but you know that I can't promise anything, don't you?" the same voice spoke in her head and than a flood of pictures and voices closed in her mind.
Memories.
Hannah opened her eyes wide and pushed Aiden a bit back as her brain started to realize what scenes had appeared in her head suddenly.
The memories of several days speeded through her head and everything came back. Every little moment of the time she had spent with Aiden, even the tiniest detail, she knew it all again.
And she realized how much James had lied to her.
"Aiden?" Hannah whispered. "I told you, you would know my name." Aiden meant smiling and took her hand.
"I'm so sorry?" Hannah reaffirmed and her eyes started filling with tears.
"You don't have to be, you couldn't do anything." Aiden replied. "You can't imagine how long I had to wait for this moment."
He pulled her closer and embraced her for a long time. It was a wonderful feeling, to know that she belonged to him again.
"I'll drop James." Hannah mumbled into Aiden's hair and Aiden felt as if a burden had been lifted from his shoulders.
"You do have no idea how happy you make me." "That's the least I can do to apologize, my dear vampire." Hannah said and a second later her lips touched Aiden's again.
_________________________________________ The sun couldn't reach the whole area of the several centuries old courtyard. Eric stood next to the antique fountain and waited for the other pureblood vampires' arrival.
The dead of Arianna was the most ineptly thing that could have happened. Nobody should see the Book of the Families, above all Aiden and Kayla. If anybody should see Aiden's true family tree, his family would have to live in name and shame. And he would need a new heir.
Now, only some hours after the announcement of Adrianna's death, a meeting of the last royalblood in the family and the most important purebloods should resolve, who should be the new custodian of the Book of Families. His thoughts twirled around in his head as he thought about how he could lead the meeting, so his favored candidate - a stupid, unskilled, young vampire who would do everything he says - would be chosen as the next one. The noise of the door jarred him out of his thoughts and his sharp ears identified the movements of three persons. He turned around and put on a fake smile. "Edward, Adele and Miyako? Am I correct?" Eric wanted to know as the steps came closer. His blind eyes switched around as he first got no answer, but then he heard Adele's beautiful voice. "Sure you're right, dear Eric." She affirmed and her black, silky hair gleamed as she walked into the sunshine. "It's me, our dear Edward and Miyako."
Formal greetings got exchanged. Nobody wanted to get to familiar with a remote relative, so the tone of the small talk was very skin deep and reserved.
"By the way, how is Aiden doing? I heard he's back from Europe." Edward wanted to know.
"I heard that as well." Adele confirmed and Miyako nodded in agreement, although Eric couldn't see that. "How is his fear of noir doing?" "Since my son didn't think it would be necessary to visit or to call me, I have no idea how he's doing. I only know he's back." Eric answered and became angry at once because of Aiden. He couldn't understand that his little love was more important for him than his family. The secretary had called Aiden to tell him Adrianna had died, but only the mail box had answered, so she had left him a message. But he hadn't called back. The door got opened again and three more purebloods entered the courtyard.
"They?re Yuuma, Kayla and Calvin." Edward said before Eric could ask.
"Hello, everyone!" Kayla greeted the ones who already had arrived. "Seems like we aren't the first ones!"
The conversation began getting louder and the seven vampires exchanged information. With the time they sounded more like a swarm of bees because everybody tried to overtrump the others with his knowledge. "By the way, where is your father Kayla?" Calvin asked smiling the youngest vampire in the group. "I thought he would come, since he is one of the oldest in the family." "He is sick." Kayla meant and started grinning.
"Is that so?" Calvin demanded disbelieving. "I spoke with him yesterday and he didn't say anything of an illness."
"It came suddenly, and he asked me to deputize for him." Kayla replied shortly.
Calvin was sure she was lying. But why should she want to do take part in the meeting?
Some minutes later the whole group left the yard and entered the old convention room through a big, wooden door. It was warmer inside and the smell of fire and wood streamed out of the entrance. "Welcome everybody." The only royalblood stood already waiting in front of the big fireplace. His long, blond hair shone in the light of the fire behind him and his red and silver face marks were silhouetted against his dark skin. He smiled. The subordinate vampires greeted politely and waited for the royalblood to continue.
"How about taking seats then?" He meant and pointed with his hand on the long stone table and the benches around it.
Everybody sat down on their ice cold, grey places and then they waited again, until the royalblood upraised the word. Already after the first moments, sitting on the uncomfortable stone they knew this wouldn't be a very relaxed meeting. Every single one had his own favorite candidate and nobody would like to make compromises. "Well, since all knew why we are here, I don't think I have to explain anything. I know that everyone of you already knows whom he wants to have as the next custodian of the Book of Families, so let's start with making suggestions." The royalblood said and the other seven purebloods nodded or murmured in agreement. "Anybody, who wants to beginn?" "How about Benjamin Brandt?" Edward wanted to know. "He is unimpeachable and - "
"This guy is the last one who is unimpeachable." Miyako growled and narrowed her eyes.
"Excuse me, what did you say?!" Edward retorted.
"I said he would the last one who is unimpeachable!" The first discussions escalated to conflicts and contentions and the hours went by. The fire got smaller and smaller and an end of the meeting was not in sight. Suggestions got made and discarded, and if it seemed that an agreement would be within their grasp, there appeared one contentious point again. "Aiden Davis. How about him?" Yuuma meant and looked into the round.
"I like the idea." Kayla affirmed. "What do you think, Eric? After all he is your son."
"He is not suitable for this role at all." Eric responded angry. He knew exactly that Kayla would love to know why Aiden wasn't allowed to see the Book of Families and she was dying to find out what was the reason. And his son was the last one he would like to see as the new custodian, because then Aiden would be allowed to read in the book. "I have another suggestion." Calvin meant and paused so he got the attention of the others. "Kayla, how about you?"
"Me?" Kayla enquired surprised.
"Yes, you. I can't believe it that no one had this idea before. You're reliable, trustable and dependable."
Eric couldn't believe what he was hearing. Kayla as the new alerter was even worse as Aiden. This was the worst thing that could happen. Dozens of explanations why Kayla would be a bad custodian raised up in his head, one implausible than the other.
If Kayla should be really the new alerter, the first thing she would do was reading Aiden's family tree. She would understand, apprehend. And she definitely won't guard this secret.
"I like this idea very much." The royalblood confirmed smiling. "Would you accept this, Kayla? Would you like to be the new custodian of the Book of Families?"
"Sure, it would be an honor!" Kayla replied. "If everybody consents to it, I would love to be the new custodian!"
Affirmative muttering came up. Since nobody could assert his own favorite candidate, nobody really cared about who would be the next guard and all wanted to finish the meeting now. Except Eric. He opened his mouth but didn't know what to say. Panic started rising up in him. He had thought about everything, but not about THIS. "Well, it seems like everybody agrees with this suggestions. But you didn't say anything until now, Eric. Do you have any problems with this decision?" The royalblood wanted to know impatient. Eric felt the looks of the others on him; everyone wanted him to say 'no'. He knew they would crack heads until he would assent.
"No, I don't have any problems with this decision." Eric said finally.
"Congratulation, Kayla!" Adele and the six other vampires said right away,but Eric's one was a long time coming.
"Thank you very much for your trust!" Kayla thanked the other vampires. "I'm sure I'll complete this order very well!" "And a special 'thank you' for you, dear Eric. I'm glad you have so much trust in me, so you, too, are ready to lay the history of your family in my hands." Kayla said icily. "It's wonderful to know that you trust me as much I trust you. I promise you, the first thing I'll do is making sure that everything is made correctly with your family tree..."

That was soo lovely, even I didn't think that Hannah's minds came suddenly all back...
! The chapter was very thrilling again! But the end shocked me!! The sentence "to be continued" 
I thought this would be the last chapter of it and I would finally know everything!! But with this news you put all in the chapter, it's sure, that there is another chapter needed. One thing confuses me already since the chapter before: Why has James suddenly brown hairs, after he had at first blonde?? Was he by the hair stylist??? LOL!!! Darn it... now I have to wait again, til I'll find finally out, how the end will be!!! 5 POINTS FOR SURE IS A MUST!! You are very talented!!
