Valentines Showcase entries open at the official site

Over on the official Sims 2 website they've opened up their 2009 Valentine's Day Showcase for entries. This showcase will seek to feature all that's best of the Sims 2 game in a romantic setting.
Do you have a fabulous Lot that showcases a romantic get-away or perhaps you've built a lot which is the perfect setting for your Sims to show off their loving feeling?
Sims 2 story writers can also get involved, as can machinima makers. The full details can be found here.
Holiday Showcase at the official site

Happy Harvest at the Sims 2 site

Something a little bit different today. The official Sims 2 website team recently ran a Harvest Cookbook Showcase and they've spent the last three weeks combing through all of the recipes that were submitted and have now published the ones that came top of their selection list.

Mansion and Garden Stuff video available

There's a video out on the official Sims 2 site which showcases the new Mansion and Garden Stuff Pack. It shows off the three new architectural styles which the pack will introduce to your Sims world - Art Deco, Moroccan and Second Empire. Also included is a look at some of the new garden items.

Mansion and Garden Stuff available on pre release

The official EA Games page for the ninth Stuff Pack, Mansion and Garden Stuff, now has more information and a link to pre-order the pack, which is due out on November 14.
New items including exotic columns that create stunning new archways, chic ceiling fans that add an element of cool, or sweeping grand staircases that make a bold statement. You can find all the information about this pack, which will see some great new additions for building addicts as well as some new plants and garden features, on the official site here.
Second Apartment Life patch released

There's a second version of the patch out for Apartment Life. Among the fixes is a return to expensive for the “You Got Feets Bathtub” whose value is now consistent with other tubs in its class, the Neighborhood Decoration Building (Tall Circular version) thumbnail now matches the building being placed and our Elderly Sims now get the chance to watch TV while lounging around on the couch.

Be aware the original patch is now overwritten on the official Sims 2 site with this one. You will only find ONE version of the patch and that is the most up to date one.
EA releases more information on the latest Stuff Pack

EA now has an information page up for the ninth Stuff Pack - Mansions and Gardens Stuff. There's lots more screenshots and some in game items to tempt budding green fingered Simmers and fledgling architects looking to build those vast historical homes.

Patch for Apartment Life released

There's finally a patch out for Apartment Life. Among the fixes are ones for the mailbox so you can retrieve all those love letters, maxing out physiology knowledge no longer makes gaining all other skills much easier (boo hiss!), the Butler will no longer leave the lot with a baby and cars placed on unoccupied apartment lots now remain when a Sim moves in.

EA have confirmed what has been rumoured for a while. The next Stuff Pack will be aimed at builders and is going to be Mansions and Gardens Stuff.
Design impressive estates and meticulous gardens for your Sims with three all-new architectural styles. With a host of new architectural and landscaping items to choose from, your Sims mansions will look more stunning than ever.

As you all probably noticed the announcement date for Sims 3 has been released. Also published are details of what's shaping up to be a rather nice Collector's Edition.

There's also a new poll on the site asking which of the creatures in previously released expansion packs is everyone's favourite. Currently in the lead are the Vampires from Nightlife.

Well, Maxis have finally confirmed that the long rumoured eighth EP for Sims 2 will bring in multi-occupancy housing. Whether they live in artsy converted lofts, the ultimate studio bachelor pads, or luxury apartments with their own butler, your Sims will experience all of the excitement of Apartment Life!
