We have restructured the frontpage and download details page for non-subscribers. This is to give a better alignment for our ads and make room for a new format on the frontpage. The more successful we are with advertising, the more content we will provide for free so this is hopefully a positive change on all accounts.

Do you host your creations at other Sims sites or file-sharing places such as Mediafire? If so, please be aware that someone with nothing better to do is reporting your content with a so called DMCA complaint and calling themselves "Thomas" or "TSR".

We know this must be irritating and upsetting for you but unfortunately, there is nothing we at TSR can do about it. The underlying problem is that anyone in the world can file such a complaint and simply put whoever's name they see fit in there, and the way Mediafire works they will remove the content first and ask questions later.

A new and convenient login option has been added to TSR to allow you to log in quickly and conveniently via Facebook. The first time you do this, Facebook will ask you to allow the TSR App which links your account but will not be seen again. On future visits a single click of the FB login button will have you logged in and ready to download instantly.

Facebook login can also be used for creating new accounts if you are not yet registered, saving you the time and effort of going through the registration process here at The Sims Resource.

Last week, TSR Featured Artist riccinumbers went to EA UK to get some playtime with the next Expansion Pack, Seasons. Check out her Blog to see what she found and to see her exclusive screenshots taken during playtesting.

Achievements have been 'on their way' since we launched Version 8 of the site and went some way towards replacing Kudos. There are several achievements which members can attain and most of them have 6 levels. They are displayed on your Profile Page and give visitors an overview of your activity on the site including which games you have created for, any Artist achievements, social activity and more.

You can also see a full list of possible achievements along with your current score and standing for each on your own Achievements page. More are planned so expect to see the list grow in time. We may also tweak some of the levels once we get a better picture of what people are achieving. This is a kind of 'version 1' of the feature so your feedback for improvements is welcome.

Sorry it took so long but we hope you enjoy this Kudos replacement.

Oh, while on the subject of Kudos we still get people asking where the free days went. These were becoming unmanageable and were replaced with the very popular Today Only feature, where 3 top quality Subscriber downloads are made available each day.
We also launched The Vault where we have now set over 360 subscriber items permanently free, with new ones added daily. I hope that helps clears things up.

It's a great day to be a Sims 3 fan! Today we have released a new feature on the site called "The Vault". In short, we will begin setting our very oldest Sims 3 content free on a daily basis, a minimum of 1 set/creation per day, but on average many more than that. You can visit "The Vault" right here and check out what we have already set free for you!

You will see the best creation from The Vault each day in the daily Featured Items rotation on the index page, together with the three Today Only downloads, making sure you don't miss out on anything (they are conveniently branded "NOW FREE!"). You will also find the three Today Only downloads and two highlighted creations from The Vault on the first pages of Sims 3 sets, Sims 3 show all and Sims 3 featured items.

All Today Only and The Vault releases will from now on coincide with the normal publishing hours, meaning 9.15 am CET.

We will be testing out new forms of advertising when you download these now free items, so don't be surprised if you should stumble upon an interstitial or popunder while getting those freebies. We welcome your feedback on the use of additional ads in exchange for more premium downloads, which we are sure you will enjoy!

Due to the site problems caused by the power outages, all transaction information on the TSR accounts from credit card payments done on June 29th have unfortunately been lost. This means that the subscription days that have been added on the 29th, are no longer there.

After some investigation, it turned out not to be possible to link the payments again to the right TSR accounts.

All credit card payments (not the ones done through Paypal) done between 2012-06-29 04:00 and 2012-06-30 04:00 GMT have been refunded.

If you have done a credit card payment on that day, please start a new order in our Shop to activate a subscription on TSR.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience in this matter.

What happened?

Due to the power outages in The United States Area, TSR's cloud server was down on June 30. When the server came back live, it turned out the database was damaged and needed to be replaced by a back-up from early in the morning of June 29.Unfortunately this has caused many problems on the site.

Subscriptions

Subscribers that started a subscription or have done a payment on June 29 are not working right away and need to be activated manually. New subscriptions will be activated as soon as possible. Subscribers have already received 2 extra days on their running subscriptions. For subscriptions that were running out this weekend, TSR has added a whole week, so they will be able to use their last download days also at the next weekend. 

Update: Most subscriptions have been activated now. If you started a subscription or had a renewal on 29/30 june and it's not been activated yet, please contact support about this, and include the transaction ID that you can find on your Paypal receipt and the email address you have used for your paypal transaction.

Submissions

Creations, stories and screenshots uploaded on June 29th are lost. If you have submitted something on TSR on that day, please check if anything you uploaded is still there. If not you will have to re-submit your creation. All download counts for Friday are unfortunately lost. Comments posted on creations and in guestbooks on June 29th are also gone.

Support issues

Support issues and submission messages sent on the 29th are also gone.Please send a new support issue/submission message if you have sent in an issue on June 29th and it still needs to be resolved.

Update: Due to the changing of the database, we have not received any support issues that were send in by email the past days (untill July 3rd, 11 pm Western European time). Please send in a new support issue if you have sent in an issue by mail and it still needs to be resolved.

If you have created a new account on June 29th, your account will be gone and you will have to sign up again for a new account if you want to log in on TSR.

If you have downloaded CC on June 29th, you will not see those downloads in your download history.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you for your patience.

TSR members are being targeted in the community by people trying to cause trouble. Please remember that nobody from TSR will ever ask for your password for the site. If anyone approaches you on Facebook, Forums or Chat, claiming to be from TSR and asking you for your login details, do not give them out!

Passwords stored at TSR are encrypted. Staff, Admins and Mods do not have access to your passwords used, but not all sites work that way. We strongly advise that you use a different password on TSR to any other website, mail account etc. This is good practice for all sites, not just ours.

We have (finally) added the attributes for clothing back as filters on the site. Just wait for the cached pages to clear and you will be able to filter all clothing by gender, age, style and type. This works different for Sims 2 and Sims 3 however. For sims 2 you need to use the subcategories to narrow down your search results, while in Sims 3 you can use the filters to narrow down your search. Enjoy!

I have seen reviews of the MadCatz Illuminated Sims 3 Mouse before and from what I recall, most reviewers commented on the failings of the main feature of the mouse, that being that it changes color based on the mood of your Sim. Well, not anymore!

The folks over at Madcatz have sent us a Mouse to take a look at. They seem to be having a push on promoting this product now that it's had a software fix and is becoming more widely available. I have been playing with the mouse recently while giving the Showtime EP a run for its money and I can say for sure that with the new drivers, the mouse performs like a charm, with a little touch of Showtime magic rubbing off on this comfortable to use, laser mouse.

Inside the mouse is a Plumbob which lights up either red, yellow or green depending on the mood level of the Sim you have selected. On the side of the mouse is 'The Sims' logo, adding to its charm and making sure everyone knows you're a true fan if the game.

The Illuminated Sims 3 Mouse is now available to buy worldwide for $24.99 from GameShark (UK £19.99, Europe €24.99).
