Hmm, not as severe of requirements as I might have expected, even given the usual understating of requirements all publishers are guilty of (EA especially). Looks like my new system will have no problem at all running this very well.

Bare in mind as well that this will be the minimum to get the game to run, it's always worth investing in something a little bit better than the minimum requirements.

When I first started playing Sims 2 I had an integrated graphics card, and I was able to play the game. I didn't get any of the 3D stuff, but I didn't know any better until I got a new graphic card. I now have NVIDIA GeForce series 5500, and that is not what is needed for the Sims 3. I am wondering if I will still be able to play, but just not get all the effects, or if I won't be able to play until I get the new graphics card. Anyone know??

My PC's dead at the moment, and if the new PSU I ordered last week doesn't fix it, it ain't gonna resurrect. Which means a new computer, and everything's dual-core now, and from what I've heard The Sims can't take advantage of dual-core so you wind up with an even slower play experience than if you had an "obsolete" single core processor. And if that's true, is Sims 3 designed to take advantage of dual-core technology? Lots of questions I'm not finding answers to at the rah-rah Sims 3 site. (I'm getting cranky, I've been Simless for two weeks now!) Gina
