Sim File Maid 2

If you're used to Sim File Maid, Sim File Maid 2 is a snap. Drag your zips/rars with downloadable goodies onto The Lawn and she'll do the rest. For file types that Maxis actually has installer technology for, The Maid will "double-click" the file for you. So if you see weird boxes pop-up, it's probably The Sims 2 Installer.

Sim File Maid 2 supports the following file-types: .sims2skin*, .sims2pack*, .package, .zip, .rar. File-types denoted with an asterisk (*) are actually installed by Maxis' Installer thing. The Maid will "double-click" the files for you, however, to automate the process.

*Be sure to read the Instructions first!*

Rescue the Sims after a crash. By making copies of the folder's content before and after, you can restore the game back to it's running state and saves you from re-installing the game, especially all those expansion packs. When importing families from the exchange, skins are added to the skin folder but you don't know which are those files. Also, some installers install skin packs and again, you don't know the files added. The same goes for other files such as objects.

Also, it is best that you download the Visual Basics Runtime Files that Microsoft provides at there website. You can download them here: Microsoft VB Runtime Files

Sims Skin Manager Plus is, well, basically a manager for your skin files for The Sims.  However, unlike all of the other skin managers out there, this one contains many more options.  For example, you can scan all the bmp files within a directory and move any that are of the wrong color depth or corrupt into the same directory as the program.  You can even check for bad CMX files - or even edit them to get them to work again.

Sims Photo Archiver
Click here to view a larger image

The goal of Sims Photo Archiver is to archive photo albums and family Web pages generated by The Sims. It transforms a Sims photo album into a stand-alone single executable file that is actually a self-running photo album. This means that you just need to run the generated .exe in order to view and browse your Sims photos again, without needing to unpack them first using a Zip program.

With Sims Photo Archiver you can easily view your Sims photos with thumbnails and descriptions, password protect your photo albums and secure your photos, save space on your hard disk, choose from several pre-defined layouts, create albums with a quasi-unlimited number of photos, and much more!

Simply write and upload text along with an image of your choosing, and have it automatically coded right into your new object. It can then be downloaded and played in the game. It's sort of like a Halloween Greeting Card... but with a lot of fun twists! For each Tombstone you make, you will be provided with a custom webpage containing your description, image and a download link to your personalized Tombstone. Another link will be available for you to email that page (and link) to your friends if you want -- or you can even add your object to "The Cemetery" -- a database of downloadable Tombstones made by and for the public. All Tombstones of course have unique GUIDs!
