Leela Carter stood outside of the Tri Var Sorority house. It was the same place her mother joined when she attended Sim State University. She was determined to make her mother proud. Her only thought was making sure that her mother's legacy at the house was held in the best regards and that she too could leave a legacy for her child. When we last left the story, Big Sister Tiffany was going to teach Leela a lesson. Tiffany was the president of Tri Var. Not only was she Miss SSU but she was the most popular girl at Sim State. She was involved in a number of student organizations and her face was on most of the brochures and publications the university used. But now there was someone trying to take her from her thrown. Leela Carter was a threat to Tiffany. She was going to ruin everything Tiffany worked so hard to become. And worse she was sneaking around with Tiffany's ex, Blake. Not only was she violating the "No dating/ no boys" rule for all first year little sisters but she was dating Blake. And no one was aloud to date him. He was off limits to any female at Sim State. Leela was walking down the hall of the house. She was getting ready for another date with Blake. It was getting harder for her to sneak around with him but every moment was worth it. Tiffany: Leela. Do you have a minute?
Leela heart stopped as she heard Tiffany's voice. It had been different than usual.
Tiffany: First let me tell you that I have had the best time knowing you this year. You have been a star first year sister and you are going will make your mother proud. That is why I have a concern.
I've heard that some little sisters have been breaking Tri Var law. And it was a shock when I heard that one of them was you.
Leela: Big Sister.
Tiffany: Now there is not need to explain if it is true or not I just want to remind you that it is law that NO sister can date or fractrinize with men their first year. If found guilty you will be stripped of your title and be exiled from the sisterhood.
Leela: I understand Big Sister.
Tiffany: Look, I'm not here to hurt you. I'm here to help you. I don't want to have to do this but you leave me no choice. If you are dating someone then you must end it. I know how much your mother's legacy means to you and leaving one for your child as well. I'm trying to leave the best one that my mother left me. But people are talking and I don't want to see you go. I care about your future. Tiffany gave her a hug and walked away. Leela sat there in thought. All that she had dreaded had come true. What was she going to do? By now Blake had been sitting outside waiting for Leela to come down. He was getting nervous waiting out there. She hadn't returned his text messages. Tonight was the night. He had something important to tell her. As soon as she opened the door he kissed her.
Blake: Sorry I know you say to wait till we were alone. I just couldn't wait. Hey what's wrong?
Leela barely looked at him.
Blake: Baby. What's wrong? What happened?
Leela: I can't . . . . I can't do this.
Blake: Do what?
Leela: I can't see you anymore.
Blake: I don't get it. You can't see me anymore. Why?
Leela: It's the sisterhood.
Blake: The sisterhood. You know I'm getting a little tired of this sisterhood.
Blake: Leela. Whatever it is we can get over it. You're only a first year for 6 more months. We'll just lay low until then. We'll be more careful. I promise.
Leela: No Blake. People are already talking. It got all the way to Tiffany. She doesn't know it's you. She's just giving me a warning but there is nothing she can do if we are found out.
Blake: But what about us. What am I supposed to do. Wait for you to finish and then pick up from there. I can't do that. I'm happy when I'm around you and get anxious until the next time I see you again. Being next to you but not with you will drive me crazy. Leela: This is not just about you Blake. What about me? My mother's legacy is at stake and I can't ruin it over some fling with a guy.
Blake: Fling?
Leela: I didn't mean it like that. It's just that
Blake: I know what you meant. It's ok. I understand completely. Well I'm telling you this. I'm not going to sit around and wait for you to let me in to your heart. I want to be with you Leela. But it's obvious that being apart of this house is more important. And you're right it is selfish of me to ask you to give up your mother's legacy for me but I thought what we have was deeper than that. I guess I was wrong. Blake walked away angrily. Leela tried to be calm but the tears started gushing down her face. What has she done. Leela was trying to forget about Blake. She had buried herself in her books and attening social events with the ladies. The first week she had avoided his phone calls and deleted his messages on her cell phone. And then the messages decreased followed by the phone calls. Blake was not going to keep chasing her around. He was mad. He could not understand how he let her get to him like that. It was the first time since Tiffany that he had let someone get so close to him. He didn't even get a chance to tell her how he felt. Tiffany: Plan A is done. Now for plan B. Tiffany: I am so happy you finally decided to go out with me Blake. I've been seeing you sad lately and I was getting worried. We have history you know.
Blake: Thanks for noticing. I've just had a lot on my mind that's all.
Tiffany leaned over and touched his hand.
Tiffany: I don't want you to hurt anymore. I've missed you so much. I miss us.
Blake looked in her eyes.
By the second week, they were back together again. It was easy. He was still hurt from Leela and rebounding to something familiar. Tiffany was there to play off those feelings and reveal her love for him that never left.
Tiffany: Plan C.
He heard her talking to him. But he was not going to turn around. He didn't want to face her. Still hurt and still bitter. He didn't even acknowledge she was there. Then one afternoon Leela came by.
Leela: Hey. I was just stopping by to get a book from Joshua. We're in the same class this term. So I just wanted to say hi. . . . . . Hi.
Blake kept bouncing the ball. He just ignored her.
Leela: So I guess I'll leave you alone. I . . . . . nevermind.
During Spring break the fraternities and sororities decided to go back to Tikiwaki Island for vacation.
Leela was walking down the hallway. Heather was waiting for her.
Heather: Hey Leela.
Leela: Hey Heather. Have you seen Brittany, we were supposed to meet up 30 minutes ago.
Heather: Yeah. I think she went to go get something real quick. Hey do you mind helping me out a minute. Big Sister needed for me to get a book from her room but I have to wait for Kyle to get back. Do you think you can get it for me?
Leela: Sure.
Leela got the keys and walked up to the room.
Just as she opened the door, she gasped at the awful sight.
There was Tiffany and Blake laying on the bed. She dropped the keys and both of them looked at her.
Blake: Leela.
He got up from the bed and walked towards her. But she pulled away from him.
Leela: I'm sorry. I guess I'll come back later.
She ran to the end of the beach. There the waves could drown out her cry. She hear Brittany walking behind her.
Brittany: Kawasaki. Is that how you say it around here (she laughed to herself). When she didn't get a return she looked closely at Leela.
Brittany: What's wrong.
Leela explained everything to Brittany. About the break up and why she stopped talking to him. She told her how she just walked in on the two of them making out on the bed.
Leela: I couldn't believe it. I had known for some time that they had started dating but I thought if I just didn't see it then it wouldn't be true. And then I saw them. I didn't know what to do.
Brittany: That snob. I knew she was low but this is way low. How dare she come in on your man.
Leela: Well that was after I came in on her man first.
Brittany: That is not the point. She wasn't really interested in getting back with him until he showed some interest in you. The spoiled brat.
Brittany: That's it. I'm tired of her. I'm tired of all this stuff she puts people through. It's payback time. Leela: NO! I can't stoop to her level.
Brittany: You can't but I can
Leela: Promise me you want do anything. Promise!
Brittany looked away. Brittany: Fine. Fine. Ok. I won't do anything.
Leela gave her a hug.
Brittany: Yet.
It was easier said than done to get Leela out of his head. No matter how much he told himself it was over, he still wanted to be with her. He would try to purposely make sure that they showed up to the same places or had classes in the same building. Part of him was still hurt and he was too stubborn to admit that she was the one for him. Then he finally got up the courage to speak to her. They were all at the campus union one night. He saw her getting ready to leave out and he rushed to talk to her.
Blake: Hey Lee.
She turned around and greeted him with a smile. It had been months since the break up and he just wanted to be her friend again.
Tiffany had left out looking for him.
Tiffany: Where is he?
She looked over the crowd and saw him talking to HER.
Tiffany: I can't believe him.
Tiffany put on a fake smile and walked over to the two of them.
Tiffany: Hi Leela. Ready to go honey. I'm starving.
Leela: Hey Tiffany.
Tiffany: You ready?
She walked away but he did not follow him.
Tiffany: Blake. . . . BLAKE
Blake: Oh sorry. It was nice talking to you again Leela.
Tiffany was a possessive woman. She didn't like Blake talking to girls and most importantly not Leela. The times he was seen with her often ended in the two of them arguing. The Frat brothers had decided to throw another party as usual. Tiffany was looking for him again. She was sure he was trying to talk to Leela. Tiffany: Hey honey!
Blake: Hey. I didn't know you were going to make it to the party. You said you had some pageant stuff to attend to.
Tiffany: Well you know I couldn't miss this party for the world. Who is this?
Tiffany: Hi, I'm Tiffany.
Woman: Taylor Foxx.
Tiffany: I've never seen you before on campus. Are you new?
Taylor: No. I'm just an old friend of Blake.
Taylor: Blake and I go way back. I had just dropped by to say hello on my way out of town.
Tiffany looked at Blake. He looked way.
Taylor: It was nice meeting you again Tiffany.
The young lady had walked away. Tiffany watched as she got into her car and drove off. There was a little child in the backseat.
Tiffany: Who is that?
Blake: An old friend.
He kissed her on the cheek and walked back into the house.
After the party was over Tiffany helped the boys clean the house. She went up to the study room to finish picking up trash. It was there that she became face to face with her again. She was furious. It was not fair.
Tiffany: Blake loves me. Not her. She was getting heated as she kept staring at the picture. If breaking you up don't work then I'm going to wipe you completely out.
Nate: You want me to do what?
Tiffany: Find out what you can about her. I want anything.
Nate: You know I can't tamper with classified information.
Tiffany: Come on Nate. You're the only one that can help me. You wash my back and I will wash yours. I'm not asking you to do much. Just find out what you can about her.
Nate: Ok. But I'm going to want something for this.
Tiffany: Don't worry. I have something good in mind.
Part IV to come.
