Lara's guide peered into the deep darkness that the opened doors revealed. He looked for a while then saw two shining yellow lights from within. Two quickly turned to four and then eight. They started getting bigger....closer...he had a sudden instinct to run, but there was no time. Four angrily starved wolves lept at him within seconds. Lara made her way down as fast as she could. Chucking down a fire cracker that seemed to scare the wolves away. She slowly walked over to her guide who was lying in the snow. Lara crouched down beside him and checked his pulse, but it was no use, he was dead before she got there. Lara knew that from here on out she would be travelling alone. She let out a deep and sorrowful sigh and made her way inside the giant doors. Lara walked into the mountain cave and immediately the doors closed behind her. She flipped off her glasses as she watched them close; wondering how she would get out when she'd found Qualopec's tomb and the part of the Scion. Lara decided to figure that out when she came to it and ventured deeper into the caves, placing her glasses in her backpack. She was following a path and could see a light at the end, 'the sun must be coming in from somewhere' she thought. She was glad for it though, it lighted up most of the tunnel she was travelling through. Which was good for two things, one, she could see where she was headed and two, she could see if there were any more wolves hiding in the cave. Lara continued walking down the tunnel, and found there was a hieroglyphic slab of concrete where she was about to walk. Lara bent down to inspect it further but couldn't quite figure its relevance, she decided she'd come back to it later, thinking it must have something to do with the door. As Lara walked on however the ground started to move, to sink. It was a pressure plate. Lara immediately jumped off it, but the pressure plate had already finished what it was intended to do. Strange heads on either side of the walls started shooting out small spears. Great. Lara took some time now to look at the hieroglyphs closer to see if she could deactivate the spears somehow. She finished reading and found a way to deactivate them; two levers had to be pulled. Now to find them. She managed to see one above the hieroglyphs; Lara just had to get up there. She rock climbed her way up with ease, and hanging off the lever, pulled it down with her weight. Lara dropped down and went looking for the second lever and found it behind the hieroglyphs. The spears were disabled and she walked casually through them. Lara kept walking to where the light was shining through and found herself in a room with a small doorway high up to her left and a hole in the ceiling. She got out her grapple and hooked it at the base of the doorway and climbed her way up. Lara walked in the doorway and found herself in yet another cave tunnel. They were all starting to look the same. There was another hole in the ceiling where more light was coming through and she continued on. As Lara reached a new room so to speak, a huge gust of bats flew out from a dark crevice in the wall. Shielding her head from their talons, she was glad that they were only bats. Lara followed another path in the cave and found herself standing high above a vast opening. There was stalactites everywhere, and lots of dark places where anything could be hiding. But there was still the same opening at the top that kept letting the beloved light in. She hoped she wouldn't encounter any more creatures though. But it goes with the territory I suppose. Lara climbed down to reach the bottom and started looking around the cave floor. There was the odd bat or two that flew past her but that was about it. She kept exploring and found a door in a small outlet with a conveniently located lever right beside. Lara pulled the lever and walked in.
