The next postcard Bella received was two months later. It was from Egypt. Robert said after his trip to China, he had returned home and purchased a house. Itching to travel more, he quickly booked a trip to Egypt, where he would be for the next few months. He was intending to do some “tomb raiding” and “excavating”. Bella checked her mailbox, day after day, there was no postcard, no news. Robert enjoyed visiting the tombs. He was finding a lot of valuable artifacts, and some not so valuable. Some were over 10,000 years old! He held these objects with great care and wondered what man or woman had touched them all those many years ago. He felt such a connection with them. He felt honored to be standing where they once stood. He could feel their presence. Robert visited Karnak… The Copper Quarry…
The Tomb of the Desert Ocean…
The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut…
And the Great Sphinx.
Bella spent her days staring out the window. Looking for hope which she was running low on. She had plenty of time to think of the things she’d done, and time to the meaning of “regret”. She was swimming in it.
Lonely and still hurting, when Robert returned home from Egypt, he decided to adopt a son. Justin’s parents were killed in an auto accident when Justin was 4 years old. He had lived in an orphanage since then. Justin turned seven shortly before Robert adopted him.

Robert tutored him…and Justin tutored Robert.
Robert taught Justin about the constellations…
And Justin loved looking through the telescope at them.
Robert decided he had better learn to cook if he was going to be a good father to Justin, so he began studying the recipes.

At first it was just Mac and Cheese, but it did get better. Justin adored Robert and Robert adored Justin.
Robert bought Justin new clothes and got him P.E. clothes in the school colors.
They played baseball…
And football…
But the best was fishing together. Sometimes they even went to the cemetery together at midnight to catch Deathfish. Robert knew all the best fishing spots and taught Justin just wait bait to use for each type of fish.
Then one day that nosy maid (Jenna) told Bella that Robert had been home from Egypt for a while. Jenna worked for Robert’s neighbor and loved to gossip. Jenna told Bella about Justin too. It was such a blow to Bella.
Bella sat up all night thinking of what to do. Finally she decided to go see Robert the following day. It was time for him to make a decision. She knew the answer would not be what she wanted, and she was ready to accept that. But she needed closure, she needed to hear it from him so that she could go on with her life.

Great Chapter!  Justin is so Cute and those PE clothes, just adotable!  Looks like Robert is relishing fatherhood the second time around.  But what about our Bella?  Will there be any room in Roberts life for her?  Can't wait to find out!   xxx

Ahh, how the tables have turned! Personally I think Bella needed a good dose of feeling sad and regretful. \:o Finally Robert has a child of his own, a son. Justin is a little cutie, and he kinda looks a bit like Robert. \:D Great screenies in this chapter, I really enjoyed it. \:\)

Oh, how cute is Justin! It sounds like Robert has his life in order and is moving on - or is it just something to keep busy and fill the empty hole left by past events? Still, no matter what Bella did, she deserves to hear all this from him, not from the town gossip.

I was mad that Robert adopted Justin without even thinking about Bella! \:mad\: But maybe Robert is coming out of this magical fog he's been in. He pursued new passions, travelled the world, has love to give and share with Justin (LOVED the PE clothes to make him feel more a part of school). He's really becoming a happy whole person. But I still feel badly for Bella too, even if she did cause a lot of this trouble. She has a right to have some closure. I'm still hoping for a happy ending...but I really don't know what will happen next! \:confused\: Also, really loved the screenshots of Egypt. And where is the furniture from Robert's living room from (#18)? I love how you decorated them!
