Hey everyone!
I’m.So.SOOOORRY!!! I know that a lot of you have probably lost interest in the story because of how long it took me to get this chapter out, but I have explained everything in my blog! I’m very sorry, forgive me? -_-;
I just hope this chapter was worth the wait…
Sixteen year old Samantha Wilson recently moved to Botany Bay, the birth place of her parents. But sadly her parents died in an accident four years ago. When exploring her new town she finds an old friend, Lilly, and follows her home. But when she enters that house, nothing will ever be the same for her again. She accidentally discovers a secret curse that affects the whole of the Howarth bloodline! Each member who has Howarth blood in their veins is cursed a different power. Usually when people find out about the curse they have to hypnotize to forget it all. But now that Samantha is allowed to remember everything, what adventures are in stall for her next?
Let's find out!
“Hey, Paul, turn that down I’m trying to study!!” she yelled over the music.
Paul continued to dance not hearing a word she had just said.
Sighing, she got back to work trying to concentrate on a complicated maths problem. Her mind wondered elsewhere…‘I wonder when…Sam’s gonna get back…?’ Worry filled her mind…
“Hey, Paul!!” she yelled above the music.
Hearing her this time, he turned down the music. “Yeah?”
“When do you think…Sam’ll be home? I’m getting kinda worried…” “I’m sure she’ll be home soon,” Paul said optimistically “I mean, what kind of trouble could she have gotten into?”
There was a ‘click’ and suddenly the music stopped. Paul looked to see her, looking both serious and worried.
“Paul, I’m serious,” she said quietly “I mean, if she was just going for the visit, wouldn’t she be back right now? I really hope she hasn’t gone looking for Dylan, she could get…hurt.”
“I’m sure it’s not that serious, Lilly” Paul said a reassurance edging his tone. “As it is I think-”
Something thumped on the roof. She already knew what it was. “That’s Ryan! Maybe he saw her!”
“Lilly, wait, don’t jump to conclusions!” Paul warned “Come back here before you say something you’ll regret!”
Despite his warning she ran up the stairs to the roof. Once in her room she climbed through the window to the roof.
“Something up?” Ryan asked.
She nodded. “Yeah, Sam…hasn’t arrived home yet and…I’m really worried she’s gone to look for Dylan! I mean if she was just going for a visit wouldn’t she—Ryan are you okay? It looks like you’re…shaking”
“Damn, if any of the gang hurt her they’re going to pay!” Ryan exclaimed enraged.
‘I shouldn’t have said anything’ she thought ‘Paul was right…He knew that Ryan would get this upset. If I don’t calm him down he might…But…I’ve never seen him so angered and determined before. Sam really has-’
“I’m going to find her…”
“Ryan, don’t do this! You could get caught, and what are people gonna think when they see an ‘angel’ flying about?!”
“At this point, Lilly, I don’t really care!” he exclaimed back and kicked off the roof.
“Ryan, get back here!!” she exclaimed after him desperately. He ignored her and flew off high into the sky whilst turning and flying over the house. “Please be safe, Ryan” she said clasping her hands together “and don’t do anything stupid…” Where were we? I had lost track of where she was taking me. I don’t even know where I am now. She said she knew how to break the curse and that she had to tell me somewhere private…Is this a trap? Should I really be following her?
I felt my heart racing in panic.
What should I do?
She stopped in front of me.”We’re here…”
I stepped in front of her nervously. “Um, okay…” I turned to her and breathed in. “What can you tell me about the-?”
“…There is no cure…”
My eyes widened.
My heart skipped a beat.
My legs collapsed under me. “What do you mean by-?”
Her eyes began to glow an unearthly green. I couldn’t look away and yet I wanted to at the same time. Suddenly images began to flash before me, some were lost and forgotten others were ones of recent times. They began to decay replacing themselves with nightmarish images and creatures. I screamed trying to look away. I wanted to stop screaming but I couldn’t, like my voice box had a mind of it’s own. What was happening?! “An eternal nightmare,” I heard her. “A time when you will scream until you fall asleep until the very last days of this world…In your sleep, you will relieve a constant nightmare, never remembering the beginning or end-” “Sam! Hey, let her go!!” She looked away from me. The images vanished and I stopped screaming. I fell forward gasping for air. My throat felt like it was one fire! My vision blurred as tears began to gather. It was too…painful to…think.
Wait, who saved me?!
I quickly stood up and turned to my rescuer. Rachael! But…why did she look so shocked…?
"Mum?" Shock bolted through me. More tears formed in my eyes. Was I hearing right? Did Rachael just call her ‘mum’? This couldn’t be…Her mother disappeared, didn’t she? She turned to her, expressionless. “What are you talking about? I’m not your mother.”
“What? It is you! I-!”
“I don’t know who you are. You are a Howarth…I only serve under the Magician. Leave before I am forced to put you into an eternal nightmare, girl.”
The devastation was evident on her face. I was too shocked to go move to comfort her. Her put a hand over her mouth as tears streamed down her face. “No…this isn’t true. Is this why you’ve…been missing for so long?! Mum, please!!” Suddenly a blue light blared into my vision. I was blinded and couldn’t see what was going on. Where’s Rachael?! I put a hand over my eyes quickly, and saw Rachael…hugging the woman. For the briefest second I saw that her eyes had changed. They were streaks or purple and white. The light intensified, and I had to look away. All I could do was listen. “Mum! Please, you have to remember! I don’t know what the magician did but…even if it kills me now, I will make you remember! Do you remember you had two kids?! That your husband disappeared after the curse got too much for him?! That your name is Lauren?! You…YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER SOMETHING!”
“Do you remember your two kids and what they told you the night before you left them? They said ‘Our mum is the best, the best in the world, because you work so hard to support us! So when we grow up…we’ll repay you back every single dollar you spent on us!!’”
Memories flashed through her eyes. So many images that were of the past flew through her mind. She heard in her ears the very first words of those she had forgotten. So many…it was unbearable! The light exploded around them into small, glowing fireflies. They remained silent…
Nothing was said
Or done…
“…Rachael? Are you…I…Rachael!” I looked back. I felt tears running down my face. Joyous tears. This really was Rachael’s mother. She’d remembered…
“Mum, thank god!” They two hugged tighter. I just stood there and watched.
“You broke the seal!” I heard her mother exclaim in happiness. “The seal on my mind…is gone…”
Moments past and they pulled a part. Rachael turned to me smiling. “Sorry, Sam, almost forgot about you! You okay?”
I nodded, unable to speak.
Her mother came forward. “I am truly sorry. I…I don’t really know what to make all of this.”
I shook my head. “I-It’s okay, you weren’t to know. I’m just…really surprised and happy about what just happened.”
“Thank you, Sam!” Rachel exclaimed happily.
And before I knew it she had turned invisible when she hugged me…
“Do you now understand the situation, Mister Howarth?” the officer said sternly.
Paul nodded. “I see…how much are these expenses exactly?”
“Quite high, this is the worst damage he’s done…”
What was going on? Who were they talking about? Why were the police here?
“Sam?! You’re back, oh thank god! We thought something had happened to you. Even Ryan was out there searching for you, and he still is!”
I turned around. “Lilly! What... Sorry I’m late but…what’s going on?”
Lilly put on a sarcastic smile. “It’s lovely. Everything is rosy-dosy and the police are simply here to have a chat with Paul about the damage Dylan caused to a building!” –Her smile disappeared, anger now filled her voice –“I am so angry at him!
“I saw the car driving out of the house… “…and he comes out of the police car looking all proud of himself! “I tried to ask him why he did it but he just wasn’t listening. He eventually told me get out his life and all that kind of insults. He’s really mad right now, so I would go anywhere near him right now…” Oh no, Dylan! This is bad, really bad, but…I think I should go talk to him. Maybe I could find out what’s wrong with him. “I’ll go talk to him.”
“Are you crazy?! I wasn’t joking when I said he’s really mad he could…!”
I didn’t hear what else she said as I walked up the stairs.
I knocked on his door. “Dylan, are you in there?”
No answer.
More worry filled me. “Please, I have a feeling you’d like to have someone to talk to. I know I’m not the best person to talk to about this sort of thing…but I’m really worried about you…”
At first there was no answer. Then…
“Is Lilly with you?”
“No, she’s downstairs…”
“…Fine, come in.”
I slowly opened the door, smiling as I saw him. However, I found myself blushing when I saw…he had hair down. He looked…so different. He was a lot more handsome and stoic looking…Wait, why am I think this?!
Wait, this is the first time I’ve ever been in his room. Dark walls, posters of rock bands and guitar in corner. This definitely suited him…but I never knew he played the guitar.
“Well, what is it?” he asked annoyed.
I turned my attention back to him. “Oh, sorry! I just…wanted to see how you were. If there’s anything-”
“There isn’t anything that you can do. This is…the third time I’ve been caught vandalizing, and I don’t really care.”
Why…didn’t he care?
I turned away, trying to hide my saddened expression. “Do you want to learn…from your mistake?”
I felt his eyes on the back of my head. “Huh? What do you mean?”
“Well, I guess…” I let a small smile pass over my lips. I turned back to him and walked up to him.
“You said this is the third time you’ve been caught by the police. You haven’t gone to jail yet, have you?”
He shook his head. “I’m not a criminal you know!”
“Eh, that’s not what I implying!” I said in a panic, my smile completely vanished. “W-What I mean is…It is goodlearn from your mistakes. I…I don’t think of you as a bad person or anything, it’s just…”
“What’s the point?” he said giving my s glare. “I gave up trying to a long time ago.”
I looked at him, another small smile coming through. “Well then…I’d like to help keep trying…”
He gave me an odd look, but I continued.”It’s painful road for some people, but…I want to help you learn, okay? But I guess…you have to be willing. I don’t want to force you, I’ll let you choose. Maybe this is just me worrying about you but…Oh gosh, I’m sorry, I going to keep babbling on, sorry!”
He was looking at me with a mixture of surprise and confusion. Then he rolled his eyes. “Fine, why not? But…on one condition.”
I was surprised, but I nodded. “What is it…?”
“Tie your hair back up, now.”
Surprised, I reached into my pocket and pulled out my mother’s ribbon. As I tied my hair back though, I found myself laughing. This was strange. Why was asking me to do this? My laughter got louder when I finished. “Hey, what’s so funny?!” he said crossing his arms.
“It’s just…this is a really strange condition!” I laughed. “And also…you look really… good with you hair down!”
Now I was laughing in embarrassment and my cheeks were blushing bright pink. I couldn’t believe I had just said that aloud!
“What the?! What’s up with you?” he I heard him exclaim.
“I’m sorry,” I continued to laugh.
“You know what, that’s just…I’m gonna…”
“Teh, you’re really weird,” I heard him chuckle. So, even if the memories are painful, we go on remembering them, don’t we? Even if they are sad or happy, they are always there. Even though he may come to regret this night and what he did, Dylan will have learnt from his mistakes and learned to move on. It is painful to take first step forward and try not to look back. Sometimes people might stay back for a long time. They stay stuck in one place for a very long time and can’t move. They try to move but they can’t, the heart won’t will them to move…Sometimes, when they do move on, they forget everything. Maybe they’ll only remember fragments, but to remember the whole situation is too painful. It’s not a bad thing… It’s very understandable. And those around them, who have moved on keep in their minds and heart the hope that they can step forward with them. So when they do manage to step forward, while some of them may never remember the entire situation or how the mistakes were made… While those mistakes have been learnt from but can never be remember how they were made in the first place… They have still remembered what is most important. Even if the situation is forgotten that doesn’t matter. What matters is that you can take a step forward at a time, at your own pace. This is what I believe…it gives me hope for everyone I care about when times are tough. For those who have forgotten everything, in the end… …you can never truly forget the ones you love.

(Again I am so sorry that this took me practically a YEAR to get out. I’ve taken the shots for the next chapter so hopefully it’ll be out quicker. So, how will Magician react to hearing the new he has lost
Thank you everyone!
Keep writing!!

P.S: I think Dylan looks really girly with his hair down, tehehe XD)
