Once upon a time....

Once upon a time.... Lexi LeMort, strong, beautiful and demanding. She stood in front of the mirror looking over her features, making sure her beauty is the finest in all the land. You know the old cliche` Beauty is only skin deep. For Lexi it is the truth. Her beauty is attained by unnatural means. She has already paid the price for her beauty. She pays for it everyday. In the beginning it lasted for quite some time, but now, her hunger is insatiable. Greed, corruption and self loathing are within her soul eating away the beat of her heart. For as long as she is able to feed her beauty her soul is hers to keep. "Come out come out where ever you are? I demand your presence. Show yourself!" "My Lady, you seek an audience with me?"

"Am I not the most beautiful woman that you have ever seen?"

"My lady you are very beautiful indeed, that the men will surely fall to their knees before you, however?" Anger was creeping it's way up to the surface. With clenched teeth and still composing a decent outward appearance. Lexi became tense. "However? What does that mean?" Dare you say?" "There is one that has just arrived here, she possess the purest beauty of all. Sweet of candy upon her lips. Soft of silk upon her skin. She is the fairest of all, my Lady."


 "For heavens sake. WHO? I Demand you tell me! I thought I took care of everything." "TELL ME! NOW!"

"My Lady, she is the fair Lamia, who just bought the small cabin down on Storybook Lane."

"WELL!, We can't have that, now can we?" "JAYMES!!!! WHERE ARE YOU??!! What's taking him so long. He's got a job to do."

"Silver..do you hear that? Yes, I heard her quite clear. Her voice hits me like finger nails running down a chalk board or across frosted glass, pick one, they both have the same effect on ones nerves."

Jaymes, what can I say about him? He is warm, loving and kind, everything that Lexi is not. He can't remember very much about where he came from or how he got here. All he really knows was that one day he just appeared. Like out of thin air, a puff of smoke. "Silver, What can I do? How can I get out of this. I can't do this anymore. I can't keep doing her evil deeds any longer. Something, I don't know for sure, like a part of me dies every time she sends me out." "I wonder who it is this time. Here you go Silver, some fresh hay for you." Walking with dread back to the old castle, well it wasn't really a castle. A small version of one updated to fit in with the modern world.

"JAYMES!!!!" "Did you not hear me calling you?"

"Yes of course I did."

"Of course you did...what??"

"Please forgive me of my manners...Of course I did, my Lady, my apologies for being late upon hearing your call."
 "That's more like it. Now I have something for you to do. There is tale that a newcomer has bought that little cabin, the old man Snow's place on Storybook Lane. You need to go check things out and when you find out anything, you report back to me. I want to know everything and I mean EVERYTHING." Jaymes let out a long low breath. Out of frustration his hand clenched into fists. Unable to release his anxiety and the unwant of this new task. They all ended up the same way in the end. Unable to break what ever it was that Lexi has over him he is bound to do her bidding. No matter what. It is out of his control.

"Can you not let this one be, whoever it is." "Don't go there Jaymes, you know good and well that all I have to do is utter one single word and you'll wish you could just disappear." Lowering his head in defeat, he has no choice. Something inside pushed it's way up into his mind and Jaymes felt himself slip somewhere into the darkest corner of his mind. "Now that's much better Jaymes, I expect some news soon."

"Yes my Lady."
