Hi!

We are very happy to announce our new story, and I am very glad to work with my friend Ioana Georgina, who is a very talented writer. We are excited to see what you guys think.
They say that following your dreams is the best thing you can do. I’ve always been quite the dreamy, bubble head girl. I used to think that I had my own dream world where nothing goes wrong and everything is magical,in a weird way. I pictured the sky as a big, never ending blue blanket over the world. The sun looked like a big golden ring ready to suck me in. The clouds looked like big sugar pillows and everytime I would lay on them, they would move like the magic carpet from”1001 Arabian Nights”.I felt so good in my little world, it would never end. I was in a big bubble that would never pop and it would protect me from my biggest fear:People. People never understood me. I wasn’t that popular in high school, - wait, what am I saying?! - I never was popular in high school,I was just your typical smart shy girl, who got paid by her classmates so I could do their homework. I had low selfesteem because there were some really rude girls that would always mock me.They even chose me some embarrassing nicknames like:'Four Eyed Stove','Braceface','Metalteeth' and the torturing went on for hours and hours.I have never felt so hummiliated in my whole life.I never got to tell them what was on my mind.I just didn’t have the guts. Everyday after school I would lock myself in my room and play the guitar until I cried all my pain away.It always made me feel better.I had a special bond with that guitar. It was my dad’s. It was. Dad was Ben Brandy,he was a great singer,it’s such a shame that he never made it in the big city,he used to play in bars and pubs here in Texas, every single night. That was his job,he was a humble man,he worked har for every penny he earned and he made sure for us to have even a small piece of bread on the table. Until something terrible happened to him. But one cloudy, rainy day,the tragedy stroke upon us:A lowlife man had kidnapped my dad, and there were just a view whitnesses. That's it. We got in a fight the night before he dissapeared. And that’s how he left this world, our world, our home. leaving my mom and me behind in doubt.I still cannot figure it out why would anyone want to harm him,he was nice to everyone,if he had something to eat and you didn’t he would share it with you no matter what. That was just his personality:generous, honest and kind. The sherrif couldn’t catch the culprit even after 7 painful years.I still remember that terrible day,I have to admit that I was pretty mature for a 14 year old.

The sheriff visited our house. Again. For a conversation with my mom, we didn't stop calling him since day one.
‘Mrs Brandy, we have terrible news’ said Mr. Duncan, the local sheriff, then paused, turning this into a long, awkward silence.

‘What is it, Mr. Duncan?’ my mom said.

‘We couldn’t find the suspect of your husbands disappearance, We’re really sorry but we’re trying our best’ he said.

'YOU’RE DOING YOUR BEST?!It’s about MY husband that you are talking about,I cannot accept failure... Just.. really..'

'I'm sory..' he apologized.

'Her mascara was dancing all over her face, she was a total mess.

'I have no more patience. It has been days since he's missing. The longer you wait, the harder it gets to find him' she cried. 'You need to stay calm, and be here for your daughter, she needs you. You need her. You guys need each other..' The sheriff was completely speechless,no one in town had ever seen mom in this state, she completely lost her mind. Any time later ,mom got in a deep depression, she barely went outside, she just stood in her room, screaming dad’s name and crying night, after night after night. She had me very worried, she even refused eating, she lost weight at a rapid pace. And there I am now,at 21 years old, ready to leave the nest, the place I called home for 21 years and ready to spread my wings and fly.I didn’t want to say goodbye to my mum,it hurt too much, but this was a thing that had to be done. Here I was now,my suitcases were standing besides the door while I said goodbye to the woman who gave birth to me,the woman who raised me so well all these years. We were both crying, hot tears flowing on our cheeks,we stood like that for a moment, and then my mom broke the silence 'Leah, sweetie, listen to me,I know that this was a hard decision to take and it’s not that easy to take, but you need to be strong. For both of us,your dad dreamt of getting out of the usual, dusty Texas and he wanted to make it big in New York. All that glitz, glam, fame seemed appealing to him,and now,if you’re going in his footsteps,do it for both you and your father,he is so proud of you wherever he is now' ‘’Mom,it breaks my heart to leave you here all by yourself, but I can’t deny, this would be my dream coming true, but something worries me’

-‘What is wrong,dear?’

-‘I don’t know if you are safe here,I am afraid that something bad will happen to you and I won’t be here to take care of you’ I said on a calm and soft tone.
‘Oh,don’t you worry 'bout me,I’ll be fine,I lived my life to the fullest and now it’s your turn’. She smiled, but I knew there was a lot of pain and loneliness behind it.

And with those words said, mom pulled me into a hug, helped me get my luggage in the taxi and stood there, looking as her only child, her little girl, walked away with just a suitcase and a big dream
