The Black Statue
Hi people! This is my first attempt at making a story! Hope you like it and leave suggestive comments on it! Probably, with more feedback from all of you, I can improve!
Hi people! This is my first attempt at making a story! Hope you like it and leave suggestive comments on it! Probably, with more feedback from all of you, I can improve! This is Lord Handel Gothika. He and his wife moved out of their old neighborhood after the death of his grandparents. They found a nice peaceful home in the country, in a place called "Thirteen Rocks." He is determined to start a new life in his new home. This is Handel's wife, Lady Vanessa. She is a very wonderful wife, and determined to start over much like her husband. She is barren, so she's not able to produce a child for her and her family. So, seeing no other way, they both agreed to adopt a young boy. This is their adopted son, and they named him Francis. The adoption center told them that nobody wanted to adopt him. What was their reason? Well, they were told that this boy is not normal. He, according to the workers at the adoption center, has a mysterious aura surrounding him. This is the house that the Gothika Family bought. Small and simple, and a very big swimmable sea. One night, Lady Vanessa spotted Francis seemingly dancing by the front door of their house. After which, he started talking to himself, or so it seems he was talking to himself. After dinner, Lady Vanessa called Francis out on the balcony and inquired of him on what he was doing by the front entrance a while ago. "Francis, I don't know if I saw things right, but I thought I saw you a while ago dancing and talking to yourself. Can you tell me just what you were doing?," Lady Vanessa asked of Francis. "Oh that, mom? Well, as you see, I have no friends back at the adoption center. All of the children ran away from me. They think I was weird, or 'different' from all normal people..." "...But, when I went out a while ago to get some fresh air, that statue seemed to talk to me. I knew from the beginning she is not like those other children..." Francis replied in wonder. "So we talked and talked, and then we got to know each other..." "Oh really? What was her name?" Lady Vanessa sounded worried. She knew something was going on, and she did not like it one bit. Not at all. "She said her name was Leila, and that she has long lived here. She said that she would like to be my friend. She has also experienced the loneliness I have felt. She also said that she is about 17 - 18 years old, and that she was a descendant of the Laxia Clan... Mom, what's the Laxia Clan?" Francis asked curiously. "The Laxia Clan? Son, don't disappont yourself with those childish fantasies of yours. To tell you the truth, there is no such thing as the Laxia Clan..." Lady Vanessa replied. "...You should understand that I am not forbidding you to play make-believe, but just don't take them too seriously. It is one thing to play, and a much different thing to believe in an imaginary world of your own..." Lady Vanessa's voice trailed off... Francis just nodded in agreement, not wanting to argue anymore. But deep down, he knew that there was indeed a Laxia Clan, and that the statue is real... to him. For the next few weeks, Francis continued to think about his newfound friend, and the Laxia Clan. He daydreamed about it for hours on end. Truth be told, Lady Vanessa was becoming more worried as her son continued on dwelling in his "make-believe" world. But, she was worried for a different reason. One night, Lord Handel was startled to see Lady Vanessa "talking" to the statue. Lady Vanessa didn't notice him right away and said, "Why? What are you doing to my son? I thought you will finally let us live in peace? I though you promised? It wasn't my fault that..." Lady Vanessa suddenly stopped. She turned and met the face of her husband. She immediately became worried. "Please, don't tell me you heard all that I said... It's not what you think..." She worriedly pleaded. "What... what are you doing? Yes, I heard all you said... about some promise... I... I can't believe it, really... I... I... uh, let's just forget it. You may be just stressed out. Come on, let's go inside and rest." Lord Handel said. "Come on, it's all right.. I don't think you're out of your mind. I still love you the way you are." Lord Handel said, comforting his wife. "Come on, let's go inside. It's getting late." That same night, Francis was sleeping when a voice beckoned him come... "Francis... Francis... Leila's here... Let's come play tonight so your mother won't disturb us... Francis... Wake up Francis..." The voice seemed to hypnotize Francis awake. He stood up, and went outside. And saw a lady on the bridge. "Come Francis... Come... Let's play..." "...Let's play MAKE-BELIEVE..." To Be Continued...
