This is the second chapter of "The story of Letta Divine. Thank you for all the support! Where were we? Ah...yes!
-Grandma...
-Yes Stella?
-You look kinda worried...you know I'm worried too!
-Oh, why are we worried?
-I'm worried about Santa, how will he know to bring my presents here?! -Oh Stella! said Minerva almost laughing.Come on let's sit and watch the tree for a while.
-Allrightie Grandma! -You see how every year Santa knows who was naughty or nice?
-Err...I was nice! What's your point?
-Well I'm sure he knows where every child is, so you don't have to worry!
-Let's make a deal! said Stella.
-A deal?
-Yes! If you go on with the story, I won't worry anymore!
-It's a deal!
So, Grandma Minerva started the story again: After Farah's show had ended, Kara took Letta to meet both her and Rufus.
-Hello Rufus!
-Kara! What a pleasant surprise! I wasn't expecting you!
-I'm full of surprises Rufus,don't you know that by now?
Rufus laughed.
-Actually I'm here to introduce this young lady...
By the time Kara was finishing her sentence, Rufus had already made his move on Letta.
-What a pleasure to meet you! I am Rufus Dull!
-Nice to meet you, I'm...
-Gorgeous! Rufus interrupted.
Letta blushed and could barely say her name.
-She would like to meet Farah, if that is possible, said Kara.
-Of course! Let's have a seat while she changes. They sat down on one of those luxurious couches. Letta was mesmerised with everything.
-So, tell me more about you Letta, how did you end up with Kara? -Well, I came from my town and saw her add in the newspaper...
-She wants to be a singer, make it big! She is very talented! Suddenly Farah appeared and with an ironic tone she replied:
-Talented?! Please, don't make me laugh! How talented can she be? The best thing she could do is to go back to her cattle and save herself some tears... -I think there is enough room for everyone in showbusiness, Letta tried to calm her down.
-Keep on dreaming!!
-Charming as ever! said Kara.
-I can't say the same thing about you, replied Farah while slamming the door after her. -Listen, I'm sorry! She is just like that!
-I'm so disappointed! She was my idol...
-Idol or not, she is a diva, when they make it big, they are like that, it has become a fashion! I deal with them every day, but listen, to make up for this situation, I want to come and see you at "Rosa's". Is it ok?
Before Letta got a chance to say anything, Kara agreed.
Letta couldn't be more happy that Rufus would hear her sing, but what made her even more happy is the news that Kara gave her. Every now and then, when they had a permit, soldiers would come and see the show at her bar...Friday was one of those nights...and Friday was her first act. She was very very nervous and happy. She spent the days sewing a dress to look pretty and rehearsing for the big night. Finally, Friday was there. Rufus kept his word and came to see her. The room was full of soldiers eagerly awainting for their drinks, but more for the show since they heard there is a new face at "Rosa's". When the big moment came, Letta got up on the stage, introduced herself and expressed her happiness about the fact that she can sing in front of them. Then she wished they had a great evening and started her song. Somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high,

And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true. ...and then they cheered... ...even Rufus was tottaly taken away by her performance.... ...but there was one person who wasn't that happy about everything: Kara. She realised that Rufus might like Letta too much and offer her a better job, a job that would help her become what she always wanted, a star! Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly,

Why, oh why can't I? When the show was over, Rufus went on the stage, gave Letta a big hug and congratulated her. -I must say, you are the most talented girl I've ever met. We have to talk business, now!
Letta couldn't believe! Rufus had a proposition for her! -I'm opening a bar in Las Vegas. You see this thing is going to be huge! You have to come and be my star! New York has its show scene, but Las Vegas in the place to be!
Letta didn't know what to say...she was amazed! Before she had any chance to say anything, Kara interrupted and asked them to go off the stage because Greta had to start her show. When Letta left, she told Rufus that she won't sell her bar to him anymore since she got a new star. Rufus got angry and told her to keep her hopes down because he offered Letta a deal that she just can't refuse and that the bar would be his eventually. Meanwhile when Letta got off the stage, one of the soldiers approached her, very polite, he kissed her hand and said:
- With all due respect ma'am...I think you are the most beautiful and talented woman I've ever seen!
-Thank you, thank you so much! Letta answered.
She was charmed with the man who was standing right in front of her. He was tall, had big blue eyes, dark hair, light skin and very soft hands.
- I'm Carmine Wahlberg.
- I'm Letta.Nice to meet you! The soldier was also charmed with her. All of their conversation he couldn't stop looking at her eyes, lips, hair, hands, everything was so perfect..she was an angel. He was smitten with her. -What is she doing there?! Rufus asked Kara.
-The girl made some fans, leave her alone!
-She doesn't need those kind of fans! - It was nice meeting you Letta! said Carmine while hugging her. I promise I will come and see all of your shows!
-It was nice meeting you too Carmine and I would be delighted to see you at every one of my shows! she replied. When she returned at the table, things were hot between Kara and Rufus.
-What is wrong? asked Letta.
-Rufus here is trying to make a point of some sort and I do not agree with him. - A point? asked Letta puzzled.
- Never mind, just think about what I said. I don't need an answer now, just take your time, replied Rufus.
In her head, Letta couldn't think about anything else but Carmine. And he looked at her all night long, ignoring anything else around him. -Carmine? Cut it out!
-What?
-That! Stop looking at that girl. You'll get in trouble with Rufus again. Cut it out please! He is looking at you. - I can take care of myself! besides nothing in this world will keep me away from her!
- You're serious aren't you?
- I am, very serious.
- Oh brother, replied the sargeant. A few days later Kara came to see Letta
-What have you done to this place? It looks so nice!
-I invested some of the money you paid me in advance. I even have a new dress!
-Wow! You know, you are a gift from God! Since you've been singing in my bar, people are coming more and more. We're heading for the big bucks.
-I'm so glad to hear that! -Listen, you know Rufus asked me to go to Vegas with him...
-Yes I know, but...If this is your dream you should follow it... -Hmm, you're not serious, are you?
-I am. Hey these flowers came for you this morning! They are beautiful and they are from your soldier! -Carmine! Oh, he is great! Just great! I think I'm in love Kara...so in love! I just can't get him out of my head! -Letta! You have no idea how glad I am to hear that!
-Me too! He really is a guy you can bring home to your mother...and frankly the guy I want.
-I wish you all the happiness in the world!
-Thank you so so much Kara! When Kara left, Letta smeleld the flowers and she agreed that those were the most beautiful flowers in the world! There was only one problem...is love more important than her lifetime dream? -Oh Farah, did I ever tell you how beautiful you are?
-You tell that to all the girls, Rufus, all of them.
-But I don't really mean it, you know that!
-When are we going to Vegas? I can't wait!
-We are not! I am taking Letta. -Let me go you bastard! replied Farah and struggled to get out of his strong arms.
-Hey relax...let me finish my sentence...we are not going to Vegas, I'm taking Letta because she means fast money...you know that...we've done this before! -Oh Rufus, you are so smart, I don't know what I would do without you! That country girl won't even know what hit her!
-She won't and by the time she realises that I am cashing all her money, we will be so rich Farah! - Kiss me, Rufus, kiss me! - Don't you worry about anything! I'll take care of everything! You're beautiful...did I ever tell you that? The most beautiful... -Well hello there, am I interrupting something?
-Kara! Please! You are not, I was just sorting out some problems before the show tonight. With what may I be of service? - I am here to tell you that I will not sell the bar, not now, not next week, not next month, not ever!
- Yes you are, my darling, nobody refuses me, you know that!
- Leave me alone! I don't want to sell it! Rufus got really angry and started shouting at Kara:
-You fool! How stupid of you to think you can outsmart me! You think Letta is your salvation? Well she is not! Nobody can save you. Stupid woman!
-You lost, Rufus, this time you lost! -GET OUT OF HERE! This isn't over yet, you hear me? Ignorant! You will pay for this! Later that night when Kara and Greta were heading... -GRANDMA!!! -What happened?!
-I saw someone at the window!! Grandma,quick, let's hide!
-Stella! Calm down! All the doors and windows are locked, the only way in is the chimney, but only Santa uses it! There is nobody out there.
-Ok...
-It's getting late, we should go to bed! - Can I sleep with you Grandma? asked Stella a little scared.
- Of course you may! Off to bed now!
- And you'll tell me the rest of the story tomorrow?
- I will, I promise! ---TO BE CONTINUED---
What happened to the Rosa sisters? What will happen with Carmine and Letta? What's Rufus really up to, does he really want to trick Letta or is he using his charms to fool Farah after all? Is Las Vegas our next destination? You'll find the answers in the next episode of "The Story of Letta Divine".
