Enjoy....=)

Enjoy....=) The next day: Justine, the kids, and I decided to leave for the park early; we wanted to set up the picnic before Paige and her gang showed up.

Justine: Paul, why don’t you take

Justice over to the swings and play with her, while your father and I set up the picnic

Paul: Okay mom (He said grabbing Justice heading to the swing.)
Justine: Marty, what’s wrong, you haven’t said anything since we left the house? (She said as we walked around the park to find a spot.)

Marty: Oh, I’m just in thought.

Justine: About? I’m listening… (She said as she watched me out the blanket down)
Marty: Last night, Paige told me that she never told Phillip why Phil was coming over the summers and he wasn’t. He claimed that she told him it was all because of her, but either way she made me the bad guy. I feel like she set him up to hate me.

Justine: Oh come now Marty, Phillip doesn’t seem like he hates you, especially after how happy he seemed last night. (She said pulling out food)
Marty: Yeah, but Honey, he seem uncomfortable when Phil is not around; I blame Paige for that! It shouldn’t be like that, he should know me and I should know him! I feel like he’s a stranger! (I said getting mad at the fact I don’t know my son.)

Justine: Marty, you can’t expect him to be comfortable with just one visit. Yes, you are right when it comes to you knowing him and all the things about him, but it’s only been one day. Don’t rush it baby, I’m sure Phillip love you and want to know you as much you want him to… (She said kissing my cheek.)

We smiled at one another.
Paige: Hi you guys, we are here. (She said as she and her gang was walking towards us.)

Phil and Phillip ran towards us and hugged us one by one.

Phil and Phillip: Hi dad!!!!
Marty: Hey boys, you guys ready to have fun with me.

They both shook their heads to agree

Phil- Where are Paul and Justice?

I pointed to the swing.

Phillip: Let’s go play with them.
Marty: Last one to the swings is a rotten egg (I said before I began to run towards the swing.)

The boys laughed and giggled as they ran to catch up with me.
Justine Version:
When Marty and the boys left me with Paige, I knew it wasn’t going to be good.

Paige: Hi Justine (She said dryly)
Justine: Hello Paige, where is Mario?
Paige: My husband had to work; you know last minute office work. (She bragged)

Justine: Oh, well- Sorry to hear he couldn’t come. So how has everything been since you move?
Paige: I got married
Justine: I guessed that (I giggled to myself)

Paige: Excuse me (with an attitude)
Justine: Oh nothing, so what else?
Paige: Nothing much, I was working at a restaurant in Pleasantville, but I ended up quitting because my father became ill, so I had to help take care of him.

Justine: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that is he okay?

Paige: He is now, he’s in heaven. He has been okay for the past year. (She said a little sadly)

I was about to say something but Paige beat me to it.

Paige: I rather not talk about it. I miss him with all my heart and so do my kids; I rather have him back than to have the inheritance he left me.

I didn’t know if she was bragging or just informing me about her inheritance, so I said nothing.

Paige: So how’s life as a “sit-at-your-desk- all day- eat donuts & drink coffee” policeman?

I instantly got mad.
Justine: Excuse me?!? I don’t sit at a desk; I’m out in the field. (I said as a matter fact) My job is going well. I actually just got promoted, that’s the reason why I am back in Sunset Valley.

Paige: Oh so the rumors are true? (She said with a smirk on her face.) I heard about you moving away from here.

Justine: Okay and? (I said a little lost)

Paige: I heard you left because (chuckled) well; you didn’t want to live in this little town where everyone knows you’re business… I.e. - your husband cheating on you and having a baby with another woman. Plus while she was pregnant, she lived with you, your husband, and your child. (She laughed) I mean, hey you know the story.
Her bringing up the past made me angry. I can’t believe I let all that happen, what was I thinking?!? I can’t believe I let her stay in my house while she was pregnant with my husband’s child! I can’t believe I was pregnant at the same time with her; yeah she had her child first, but I wasn’t far from behind her. I also can’t believe after she had her child, I had to stay in the house taking care of it and my child, because she had to work.

Justine: Why do you always have to start something?

Paige: Start something? I just told you what I heard. You asked, so I answered.
Justine: You come here with these rumors and bringing up old stuff which triggers old feelings…(I said rambling on) I’m a new person Paige and I’m trying my damnest not to turn back into the old Justine!!! (I snapped)

Paige: Ha, this is cute, you and your temper tantrum.

Justine: See this is the reason why I didn’t want to be bothered with this again. I divorce Marty so I wouldn’t have to deal with you and your scandals!!! (I said not know I was getting loud)
Paige: SCANDAL?!? Justine please, I didn’t mess up your marriage- well at least not by myself! Marty had a part to this thing you called a “scandal”! Justine: You know what Paige; I don’t see how you can live with yourself! I don’t see how a woman, who has two twin boys, goes around priding herself of being someone mistress? How can you act the way you act?!?! You teaching them that they can grow up and mess around on their wives and it will be okay!!! Paige: Why are you worried about how I raise MY boys; shouldn’t you be worried about how you raise that daughter of yours? You need to teach her to have a backbone and not to keep running behind a man that has dogged her! Before I knew it I leaped at her. I had lost it; she had danced on my last nerves. I kicked, scratched, punched, and everything else I could to Paige before anyone could stop us from fighting. After a roughly 3 minutes Marty and Paul came over to stop us; Paul had me, while Marty had Paige. Paige: YOU BETTER BE GLAD MARTY IS HOLDING ME BACK!!!

Justine: IF HE WASN’T YOU WOULD STILL BE GETTING A BEAT DOWN! (I said as Paul pulled me away from Paige.)

Paul: What has gotten into you? You usually don’t act like this. (He said letting me go)
Justine: Paul, I understand you are growing into a man now, but I can’t explain it to you. She said some things that just triggered a nerve.
Paul: Mom, don’t let her get to you. She is saying stuff because she wants to see you angry and you are letting her. Chill Mom
I listen to my son and thought about his wise words.

Justine: You’re right… (I said hugging him) Look I’m going home, you guys stay here.

Paul: But Mom….
Justine: Do as I say Paul, I have to go home to get my head straight and to get away from Paige and her hidden agenda.

I hugged my son and headed for my car. Paige had got me good by making me mad, but I promise it won’t happen again.

I wouldn't believe Paige said that to Justine about her daughter; I would have jumped on her too. I wonder where this is going to lead.
I love your stories, please continue with more.

Paul is so level headed, he leads by example. I wished that Justine did not stoop to Paige's level. Good story.
