She had gotten the kids home without further argument. She was still in shock. Elliot was back. She didn’t know how to feel. They had been in love; he was the man she wanted to be with forever. She remembered the first day he told her he loved her. “Gosh it’s hot out here.” Isabella complained. Elliot had invited her to a picnic at the lake; she had been so excited to go. It was their one year anniversary.
Elliot laughed, “Stop whining. I wanted to do something special for you!”
“And I’m glad you did.” She smiled and kissed him on the cheek.
He smiled, “I’m so glad you’re my girlfriend. I just wish we could tell your parents.” His smile fell a little bit, Isabella noticed.
“I know El, it’s just they’re so old fashioned! I wish I could tell them too, but if I do, they’ll make it so I’ll never see you again.”
Elliot shrugged, “Yeah, I know. I was just sayin’, that’s all.”
Isabella leaned on him, “Just think, after we graduate next year, we can get out of this place. I’ll be in design school, you’ll go to college for advertising, and then we can move away from here and get married.”
He smiled at the idea, “Yeah, on the beach...”
“At night.” She added.
“And a year after we graduate, you would have our first kid…”
“A boy. Elliot Jr.” she smiled.
He laughed, “I like that.”
“Then, after you start your own ad company, we’ll have a little girl. You can pick her name this time.” She said to him.
“Hmm…Juliet.” He said. She laughed and shook her head. “How about Jasmine?” she shook her head again, “Well how about Margaret. After my mom.”
Isabella beamed, “I love it.”
“I love you.” He said to her.
“…I love you too.” She leaned over and kissed him.
“Mom!! I saaaaid can we have some juice please?” Mason asked as he tugged on his mothers’ hand. She was back. She looked down at her son, “Oh of course dear, I’m sorry.” Mason smiled and walked to the fridge.

She was so in love back then. She had been so happy at the lake that day. She couldn’t believe a year later that would be the same place she’d break his heart. She still couldn’t believe he was back. She assumed it was to visit his mother. She had seen her around town. Margaret was such a nice woman.
She wanted to talk to him. But she had no idea how to. She couldn’t just go to his mothers’ house and just expect him to want to talk. He literally ran away from her today in the street. She sighed and tried to put him out her mind, her and Elliot are history. She was married with children, and he probably was too. She had no business talking to him after all these years. She began to cook dinner with a heavy heart. “Oh Elliot, you’re home!” Margaret smiled and hugged her son. He was still in shock from his encounter, but he tried to smile for his mother.
“Hi mom, I missed you.” He said hugging her back. She ushered him into the house.
“How was your flight? You doing okay? You look a little funny.” She questioned him.
“I’m fine mom, it was just a long flight”
His mother smiled and hugged him again, “Well you go on and lay down in your old room, I’m gonna start on dinner. I’ll call you when it’s ready.” He scurried off into the kitchen.
Elliot chuckled to himself once he reached his old room; it was exactly as he had left it years ago. No one had been in it since he left. His old posters were starting to age on the wall, dust lined his bookshelf. He walked over to his old dresser and sighed. He had so many memories in this room. It had to be about 2 am. Elliot heard something hit his window. He rolled over, maybe he was dreaming. No, there it was again! He threw his comforter from his body and dragged himself out of bed. He looked out to his deck. Isabella was in his backyard with a hand full of pebbles. She smiled when she saw him step out on the deck.
“What are you doing here?” he whispered.
“I wanted to see you! Can I come in?”
He looked back into his room; surely he could sneak her in without his mother hearing. He looked back outside at his waiting girlfriend, “I’ll be right down!” he whispered again. She smiled and nodded.
“I can’t believe you’re in my room.” He said as they sat cross legged on the floor. He had never had a girl in his room before.
She giggled, “Me either.” She looked kind of sad, and he noticed.
“What’s wrong Bells?” he asked her.
She shook her head, “Nothing, me and my mom got into another fight today. My parents get so mad whenever I talk about graduation and going to college! My dad said ‘you have no use for those plans Isabella.’” She mocked her father, “Like he has his own plans for me and my life. I just want to design clothes. What’s so wrong with that?” she looked with tears brimming to her boyfriend, her rock.
He reached over and rested his hand on her cheek, “Nothing is wrong with that. We’re going to graduate in a few months, go to college, get married and have EJ and Margaret. Nobodies gonna stop us, not even your dad.”
She smiled, leaned across the open space and kissed him. “I love you.”
Elliot shook his head. He didn’t know then that those words were a lie. He had loved Isabella with all his heart, they had their lives planned out, and she had left him. Even worse, she had moved on, gotten married and had kids; and here he was, a workaholic who kept women at arm’s length, using them for their bodies and never calling back. He never allowed himself to love any of them. The thought made him angry. It was Wednesday; today the twins went on their play date with the Klein children down the road. It was noon; the children would be back at 4, so she had the afternoon to herself. She checked the calendar, today was her spa day. Hoyt had given Isabella two days out of the month to go get her hair and nails done. His wife was expected to keep up appearances. She sighed, she enjoyed her spa days, but at the same time she saw no need in them. It was very rare that she left the house to be seen, and even more rare for her to accompany her husband to business gatherings. The only events she was invited to were the ones where her father would be in attendance. She grabbed her purse and headed for the spa. She was finished around 2:30. She didn’t want to go home just yet, so she decided to head for the bookstore. She could use a few new reads.
She had thought about Elliot all day; she needed to talk to him before he left town again. She started to rethink her aversion to going to Margaret's.
It was about 9:30. The twins were in bed, and Isabella was starting to wash dishes. She heard a knock on her door and was instantly struck with fear. Was it one of Hoyt’s assistants stopping by like he warned they would? Her hands shook as she opened the door. To her extreme surprise, it wasn’t Hoyt’s assistant, but Elliot. Elliot was standing at her door.
“Mind if I come in Bells? I want to talk to you.”

Yes, I definitely enjoyed it! (and the others, which I've had to go back and catch up on) Can't wait for the next part. The 'memory' pictures were gorgeous, they had a real old-timey feel. \:\)
