I was so unbelieveably happy this morning; because this morning I got a letter saying I was accepted into Botnay High! I couldn't wait to tell Lilly, I knew she would be excited. "WHERE DID SHE GO?!" I stopped in front of the gate. That sounded like Dylan, and he didn't sound happy. The door half opened and I saw Lilly in her plant form running out. She didn't even notice me as she ran towards her greenhouse "Lilly!" I called out, she kept running. I felt something brush past me but I couldn't see it. Just then the door slammed open. The slam was so loud that it could have broken all the glass in the window. I was surprised it didn't. "Where's my shirt you little brat?!" I looked back to the porch. I gasped and looked away. I dared another glance. I felt my entire face blush red but I couldn't stop staring. "God darn it! Where is?! Where is that little br-?!" Dylan finally looked up. I yelped and jumped in surprise "I'm sorry! I, dah!" Dylan just stood there looking casual. Then he smirked a strange look on his face. Pride? Confidence? I couldn't put my finger on it. I wasn't use to Dylan having that expression on his face. Maybe he had another side to him, a confident side. Lilly came bounding up the porch steps. She saw me and smiled. She turned her head back to Dylan "Your shirt is in the living room. Rachael didn't take it. Although I had to admit it was funny when you started chasing her around the house! I guess that's why i didn't tell you soon!" Dylan grumbled putting his hands on his hips "You could have told me that earlier!" He stomped off into the house slamming the door behind him. I walked up the steps with grin "Hi!" Lilly turned smiling "Hello!" "So, um, who's Rachael?" I asked. I don't think I've heard her name before. "And how did you get into plant form this time?" "Well, plant form this time was when I saw the rest of that movie here. Had to rent it out because I missed the end of it at school. I got all upset and poof! Plant form! "As for Rachael, she's another Howarth. She has the power of invisablity. You know, you can't see her. She's fourteen years old and is about five foot two I think. She came over this morning and then Dylan lost his shirt and he blamed Rachael and started chasing her around the house. Ryan is off flying somewhere. When I noticed that he was starting to smash doors down, I ran out of the house to protect my garden. Thank God he didn't go there, or else he would have got it right to him!" She sounded mencing at the last part. I realised then that thing that brushed past me could have been her. "So, does this mean you've lost her?" I asked slowly. Lilly nodded "Yeah, but were looking around." "I could go looking around if you want." "No, she's our BUG problem and we'll deal with it." "No it's okay. I'll help at least." Lilly thought for a moment before responding "Yeah, okay. You check the market. And if she's about to turn invisable make sure no one see's here, or poof!" I arrived at the markets seeing Lucy first "Hey, um, Lucy" She turned around "Huh? Oh, hi!" "You wouldn't have happened to see a , um...girl who's five foot two?" I asked. Lilly didn't give me a description, only the height. Lucy shook her head "Nope. You want me to help you look?" "No, no, no! It's fine. I'll be alright!" I sounded too panicked. "I-I mean...no thanks. I'll manage." I didn't want to put Lucy at risk at finding out about the Howarth scret. I didn't want her to loose her memories. "Your sure?" she asked. I only smiled "Don't worry I'll be fine." "Alright, but visit tommorow, 'kay?" I nodded as I walked off. I eventually came to a playground. It seemed really quiet... There was a sqeek. I turned towards the swing. It swung back and forth. There was no wind, so how could it be swinging? The only way it could be swinging like that is if someone was on it. Then their was laughing. The laughter belonged to a homy sounding voice I looked around in confusion. Where was that coming from? I looked back to the swing. I felt my mouth gap and my eyes widen the slightest. Slowly a figure faded into view. She slowly came to a stop, smiling. I decided to speak up "Um, hi..." She looked over at me still smiling. "Hey, your Samantha! Lilly told me that you'd be here. Is it okay if I call you Sam?" She didn't seem distressed. I guess I kind of expected most the cursed Howarths to be worried if they saw me when they used their powers. She seemed relaxed though; I guess that was a good thing. "Well, come on, sit down!" She said gesturing to the swing next to her. As I walked past I noticed she had purple eyes that seemed to glow, much like Ryan's. "So, can I call you Sam?" she asked again. "Yeah, sure." I said smiling. She grinned back "You know about the whole curse thing. Do you know my name?!" Her voice raied up in excitement. I nodded "Your Rachael..." "Yay! You remembered my name! I'm so happy now. So I hear you live with your aunt..." "Yeah, my aunt is a real party go-go girl. Always out, she doesn't knwo that I go out to visit Lilly..." I went on and explained everything, including my parents death. I was really surprised when I didn't cry about talking the incident. I wonder why that was? Could Ryan really have helped that much? After I finished explaining, Rachael's grin dropped and she looked concerned "Oh, I, um...I'm sorry. Maybe I shouldn't have brought it up. Ryan told me that you were living with your aunt but he never told me the rest. I'm sorry..." "No,no,no, it's fine, really! You weren't to know."m"But still, I feel guilty" "No, it's okay. Most people never really know about people unless they ask. It's okay!" I smiled reassuringly. She looked a little shocked. Great, I said something wrong again! "If I said something wrong then-" "No, i's fine! Sorry, I was just thinking about something." She sounded excited again and returned to her normal grin. It seemed like that grin was always on her face. "So, what about your family?" I asked "If you want to talk about it." "Yeah, sure why not!" she said giggling at the end. "I live with my older brother. He's twenty five and really nice to me but at times he can be a bit strange. He's cursed with transforming into a snake. Or rather, half human, half snake; a bit like Selen with her mermaid. Anyway, we live in an apartment not far from Botnay Beach. I came down here today because I wanted to say hi and how you going. Instead, I'm running my feet off away from a red faced Dylan! Oh well, at least I got meet you today. Everyone is talking about you. They can't believe the Magician is letting you off the hook." - The Magician told them about me? - "Personally, I'm glad he did. It's the only good thing he has EVER done," - she muttered the last part - "Anyway, back to my life. My power is invisablity! Like other of the curse, if my skin comes into contact with another person's skin, BAM! I'm invisiable! But I can also control it; so if I want to be invisiable I will be. That's how I managed to get away from Dylan. I still remember the first time I turn invisiable... "I was skipping in the backyard of the apartment gardens. I didn't know anything about a curse on the Howarths, because at the time the curse was placed I was three years old. My mother never talked about it. As I skipped my mother called me to do the dishes. I really hated doing that job! So I mentally wished that I couldn't be seen... "And then I slowly started to disappear. It freaked me out when I couldn't see the rest of my body. So I ran into the house and my mother stood there. She explained everything. Since then, I've learned how to control my power." I was laughing. Laughing because that, for me, was a strange way to find out about your power. "She started laughing to "I know, it's funny, ins't it?!" she said. "Yeah, it is. And all because of a chore" I said nodding. That's when it hit me. "Um, you wouldn't to have the time, would you?" Rachael slowly stopped laughed and nodded "I got a watch!" She pulled her sleeve back "It's four fifty" "Oh, I've got to get back home. My aunt will be back at six and it takes me a long time to get home. Not only that I'm sure the others will be wondering where you are!" "Do you really have ot go?" Rachael said looking sad. "I wish we could talk longer too..." We both stood up from the swings. As we walked anway I began to wonder. Why was Rachael living with her brother? I was going to ask but I thought about what might happen if I did. Maybe her mother and father died or they left her to be an orphan or somehting like that. I didn't want to upset her so I never asked. "I saw it first!" "Would you stop acting so stupid." "I'm telling you I saw it first bird boy!" Rachael sighed as she heard the loud arguments coming from the house "They're arguing again" I nodded slowly "Well at least they're not attacking each other" "Or wrecking the house" Rachael added laughing as she walked back to me. "I guess that's a good thing" I said giggling. "I'm glad it's not as bad as it use to be. So, you'll be coming over tommorow?" Rachael said smiling. "Or course! That is if I don't get too many chores." "I hope you don't, because me and Selen are leaving tommorow. Anyway, you should get home before your aunt catches you. I'd hate to be the reason why you were late" "It wouldn't be your fault," I said reassuringly. The next thing I knew I was being hugged by Rachael. I hugged back only to see her slowly disappear until it looked like I was hugged air. "Ooop, sorry!" she said pulling back "I keep forgetting that if I hug someone I can change!" "Is that Rachael?!" I heard Paul call out. "Coming!" Rachael called back. As I saw the gate open she said "Bye, Sam. I really hope you can over tommorow" "Same here" I smiled as I heard footsteps head toward the house and open the sliding door. I turned around and began my journey home. On the way I returned to thinking about how I could break this curse. I wanted now more then ever to try. With people like Selen and Rachael involved in this, I really wanted to try... ELSEWHERE...
She was about to tell him about what she saw today. But at the same time she was nervous. She didn't want to tell him the news because something deep inside her told her it was wrong. That even if she was under a aeperate curse to the Howarths's it wouldn't be right to tell him. Another part of her wonder why that girl, Rachael, felt so familiar to her... (So, that'sis. Because school has started again, I don't know when the next chapter can come out. Hopefully soon! ;) Also, I've updated the poll, now rachael will be added to it. Thank you everyone for reading and I hoped you enjoyed it!
