Round Three - Chen Family:

Previously, Nathan focused on his career, while Michelle focused on more hedonistic pursuits. They split their child-rearing duties in a similar fashion, with responsible Nathan teaching Erin her skills, and shaping her personality, while Michelle played with her.

 Michelle's favourite activities are shopping, freestyling, playing kicky bag, and having pillow fights. Unfortunately, her shopping buddy Rosalie has recently died. Michelle spends her inheritance on clothes in memory of Rosalie. Michelle spends time with another girlfriend, Jill Smith. They have a girly day at Snips, where Michelle gets some dreds put in. With a couple of other neighbourhood friends they bump into, Michelle starts up a smustle dance.

AN: I love how with setting the max num of visitors at 8 turns every community lot visit into a party. This also lets me notice the community aspect of the prosperity challenge. I usually see another playable character, and another playable character's friend. Eg. here are Brandon and Armando Cox. I'm trying to have them all be friends with other playable's friends where appropriate, to create more of a community feel. Nathan is progressing well in his career, and spends much time at work building his muscles, and his work skills. Michelle is also progressing in her career. She works hard on her work skills. This also involves using the telescope to stargaze... during the day. Kennedy Karakos is not impressed.

There are some dramas at work. She spills some soup during a wedding, causing $1000 worth of damage, which she must repay. With the beginning of spring, Nathan plants an edible garden. Nathan wants to join the Garden Club, and requests membership. They like the current plants, and note how healthy they are. However they think Nathan doesn't have a big enough garden, and deny him membership. Not ready to give up yet, Nathan plants some more flowers and trees. They smell beautiful. Erin is ready to grow up, and holds a birthday party. She grows up a child prodigy, and has a good party. Her friend Tara Lew also grows up. Erin is inspired by her father to become a fortune sim. When she grows up, she wants to be something exciting, like a spy! First order on the cards, however, is to go shopping! Erin stocks up on some gadgets. Keen to earn some money, Erin gets an after school job in the science field. She notices that one of the researchers has left an experiment still set up at the end of the day. Worried that it might be a safety risk, Erin dismantles it. Unfortunately the researcher actually wanted that experiment left out overnight, and fires her for meddling.

Luckily it's not hard for an intelligent teen to get a new job, and Erin even gets a job in the intellegence field. Hopefully it will put her in good stead for her future career.

To earn a bit more money, Erin starts painting. Michelle loves to play kicky bag with her daughter. She can be rather restless, and can't seem to decide what she wants to do half the time. She will try one thing, and then want to do a completely different set of things!

AN: Michelle's wants are indeed all over the place. She literally can't decide what she wants to do, and keeps re-rolling different things. One thing Michelle always does want to do is go an a date with her husband. They check out the fine dining at Penelope's. Penelope's also has some fine nectar. At work, all of Nathan's efforts in chasing what turns out to be a ghost whale, result in him loosing a body point. He has to work hard to re-gain that point.

Like father... ... like daughter.

Unfortunately Erin's chubby figure has carried into her teen years. She spends much time working out, but her mother's cooking causes her to regain any weight she looses.
 Erin takes to fad dieting, and starts living on instant meals to try to curb her hunger.

AN: Never had a sim with a weight problem like this before! She has a high body skill, yet keeps teetering between normal and overweight in fitness. I keep letting her eat before she's really hungry it seems. Summer days are here, and all of Lakeview head down to the park for some fishing and swimming. Michelle talks to Marissa Bendett, who thinks she's a really cool sim, and starts spreading the word around about what a cool sim she is. Erin has some fun at Marvello's with Tara. There is some yummy exotic food, and a fire dancer! Now that she's a teen, the other lakeview teens let her hang out with them properly, and she invites them out to some fun outings. Candice introduces her to some fun games at Fallout. New Years Eve is a fun time. Unfortunately the party gets broken up by the police. It seems the citizens of Lakeview are doomed to not always being able to see in the new year. Erin comes up with the cool idea of buying a makeover chair. Suddenly all the family want to learn cosmetology. Erin and her mother give each other funky new haircuts.
