Previously in the Benson household, Ray's second and last grandchild, Taylor, went to college, leaving Ray by himself. There is no sign of empty-nest syndrome here though, as Ray gets into a hectic social life.

 Ray invites his grandsons and Austin's fiancee for a Christmas dinner. Now that the boys are grown up, they don't care for a visit from Santa Claus anymore, so Ray passes on making Santa cookies. Ray's nasty streak comes out, as he convinces Austin to prank Shannon. Austin begins to get into his games hobby. He is a subscriber to the games magazine. He also gets into playing chess, and builds up his logic score. One day, the gypsy leaves a mysterious lamp on the doorstep. When looking it over, Ray accidentally rubs it, and a genie shoots out! Ray uses one wish on being able to cheat death. Ray's neighbourhood friends often stop by. Brandon joins in for a snowball fight. Nathan joins in for a game of darts. Ray enjoys his life of having plenty of dates and outings. There are bowling dates, Poker outings... ... with a side of pool. Dinner dates with food fights... ... which turn a bit more intimate. Bowling outings. On these outings, Ray continues to indulge in his love of pranks... ... and getting others to prank innocent bystanders. Inspired by Michelle, Ray takes up Freestyling. Michelle enthusiastically looks on, but it's Nathan who tips. Ray will talk about grilled cheese with anyone who listens. Some indulge him, others, like Austin, will rebuff him at the first chance. At least a hungry sim will always accept a grilled cheese that Ray has made for them. Michelle Bendett calls up Ray, asking again for a date. Given that it's spring, with love in the air, and Ray is suspicious that Jill spent their last date thinking about how she wanted more lovers, Ray accepts. He and Michelle actually have more chemistry than he does with Jill.

(AN: Although I'm not convinced she's cuter than Jill. He does seem to like the younger ones. There aren't any elder females he's interested in) Michelle is completely smitten with Ray, and falls in love with him before they are even seated for dinner. Michelle readily comes home with Ray, but he's not really in the mood for more than a quick kiss.

(AN: it turns out that you cannot woo-hoo with someone you aren't crushing on) Dating someone new puts Ray in the frame of mind to have more first dates. He has been aware for some time of having good chemistry with Candice Mazza, and takes her to the botanical gardens. What an absolutely beautiful spring day. After briefly pillow fighting, the couple spend the rest of the afternoon making out on a park bench.

(AN: I realised at this point just how high the dirty old man factor is, when I remembered that Candi is Ray's grandsons' high school friend, and Austin was crushing on her at some point! Ray! Your grandson's high school crush! Don't you remember that? Well, considering that I didn't until now, he probably didn't either)
 The good thing about dating romance sims, is that they don't need to be wined and dined before taking them home. As soon as they walk through the door, Michelle Bendett calls up Ray to ask him out, once again during a date. Timing girl! Ray of course has to turn her down. As he hangs up, Ray realises that Candi is someone he could get serious with, unlike the other women he has dated. For her part, Candice is terrified of marrying all her other boyfriends, but finds that she also wants to get serious with Ray. At this point, Ray immediately gets down on one knee and proposes to Candice, who happily accepts.

(AN: at this point, I burst out laughing when I saw which wants rolled up! Ray is so fun to play at the moment)
 To prove that Ray is a good fit for a romance sim, they head out to woo hoo in the car, even though the more comfortable yet vanilla bed is handy. Candice is ready to commit to getting engaged, but not to staying over, and now that she thinks of it, the thought of getting married is terrifying, so she out soon after.

Getting ready to settle down for the evening, Ray receives another call from Michelle, trying again for a date. Persistant girl! He may be newly engaged, but the forbidden factor is enticing to Ray, who takes Michelle out for dinner. During the date, Ray thinks of Candi, and Michelle, ever the popularity sim, thinks of parties and making friends. In spite of this, they still want to woo hoo each other up, and do fall in love. For a bit of a thrill, Ray decides to skip out on the bill. He hides in the toilet while waiting for the host to stop paying attention. Ray takes Michelle home. It may be her first time, but Michelle isn't up for woo hooing in the bed either, also preferring the car! Ray's fiancee may not stay the night, but Michelle does. She skips out before Ray wakes up in the morning. He wonders if he should feel used or not.
