As his business grows, Taylor learns to better manage his employees, and learns a few new tricks. In particular, Theresa is going really well at her job of restocking, and shows great promise. Taylor starts grooming her to be manager. She is a lot better than Amanda after-all, who constantly complains about starting time, and sometimes doesn't bother showing.

As his business grows, Taylor learns to better manage his employees, and learns a few new tricks. In particular, Theresa is going really well at her job of restocking, and shows great promise. Taylor starts grooming her to be manager. She is a lot better than Amanda after-all, who constantly complains about starting time, and sometimes doesn't bother showing. Taylor puts Theresa to selling duties. She doesn't particularly do well at it, and Taylor starts getting complaints about her. It seems the customers prefer it when he does the selling, so he decides to broaden her talents by putter her at the cash register. For the NYE party, Taylor is determined that the guests will eat something OTHER than grilled cheese. For once, Ray gets a prank played on him, and gets a taste of his own medicine. The party is mostly for Ray's older generation friends, but Candice decides to pop over. Taylor is horrified to see what Ray is getting up to with her! Candi had whispered to her friends about her relationship with Ray, but no one actually believed that the romance sim was seriously engaged, so took it to be a joke. Now it seems that it's actually true! 'But Grandad! She's my childhood friend! You met her when she came home from school with us! She and Austin had a thing going! EWWWW!' To let out his agression, Taylor is particularly raucus with welcoming in the new year, much to the annoyance of his guests. Fortunately their noise doesn't attract the attention of the police, and for once, a Lakeview family is able to properly bring in the new year, complete with a hearty rendition of Auld Lang Syne. It's a beautiful summers day for Taylor and Juan's wedding. The guests are so happy to see the happy couple tie the knot. Who woulda thunk it that the last person in the gang to have their first woohoo would be the first to get married? Gotta love how the mechanics of gameplay and the prosperity challenge mean that highschool sweethearts Shannon and Austin, who were the first to get engaged, will be the last to get married.
 Pround Grandad leads a heartfelt toast to the newlyweds. Theres some fun when cutting the cake. What a beautiful couple. Juan's first night in the house.

(AN: btw, Juan *wasn't* a rich sim after all, in spite of the '$$$' boast. He brought in a mere $16K, and Taylor didn't get the proper memory. LIAR!) Ray makes a beautiful wedding photo album. Juan has a good job in the business career, but he really wants to work for the police, so sets to finding a job in the law enforcement career. Gotta build those job skills. Hope the body skill won't be too onerous. In spite of his successful business, Taylor wants to get his own salaried job. (AN: Really! Sim wants can be so funny.) Given that he quit his job in intelligence as soon as he got it, his family could only assume that Taylor took one look at Juan's golf putter career reward, and wanted one of his own. What a cool looking spying device. Theresa is raking up the talent badges, and Taylor is now confident at promoting her to a manager. Not a moment too soon, because the very successful Benson Company has become a top level business, and he wants to leave the business in some capable hands while he develops another one. Taylor checks in with Theresa from home but she keeps the business in good shape. Juan wants to start a family soon, and with all of clutter Ray has accumulated, they will need a bigger house to accommodate a child. They look at how the Freemans have renovated their house, and take a leaf out of their book. Ray even gets a new room in the upper storey. The Freemans thought they had a lot of stuff, but it's nothing compared to what Ray has. He is pleased to have enough room to use the karaoke machine that Juan gave Taylor after one of their early dates. Taylor is ready to start a toy business, and crafts a few more toys before the opening sale. He is now the proud owner of two businesses, The Benson Company, and Toy Kingdom.

($61K for Toy Kingdom, and I am proud of the two business too, if only for their roofs and awnings. I'm usually terrible with roofs so leave them boring.) Taylor dons a viking outfit as a uniform, and opens for sale. Learning from experience, Taylor hires his first employee immediately, so that he can focus instead on tending to his customers, and building up loyalty. Having someone in another wacky uniform is a bonus. Juan is so happy when Taylor arrives home, and spends a lot of quality time with him. Taylor would usually do some work on crafting, but he does admit it's nice to have a loving hubby to come home to. What little spare time he has is spent on refurbishing the bomb he bought as a teen. Soon there won't be much spare time at all, as they have finalised the adoption process. The social worker arrives with the beautiful Emily Benson. They all love her to bits. Ray is such a proud great-gramps, especially since he isn't responsible for looking after her this time around. He sets to taking photos of the new family. Ray takes Candice on a date bowling. They are about to have dinner, when they are rudely interrupted. This is the second time Candice has been caught cheating by Marissa. Oops! It's hard for Ray to get Candi in the mood after this, because her mind is on other sims. Michelle, best friend of Jill, is also there. She's horrified that Ray is engaged to someone else!

On a plus side, it pays to be friendly with the hosts, because Mayhew comps 30% of the bill.

(AN: I wanted my showdown from the consequences of Ray and Candi's relationship, but I had to manufacture it, since the only person who would autonomously get upset would be Jill. I had fun anyway.) And finally, Juan's stats when he first moved in:
