Recap: Nathan likes to buy things, and Michelle likes to play. Having a baby doesn't change much, because Nathan can buy things for the baby, and Michelle can play with the baby. With Erin growing up well, the couple start out in their dream job fields.

Even though Nathan and Michelle's hours don't uniformly overlap, Michelle isn't too keen on getting up in the wee hours to take care of Erin, so hires a nanny. The nanny, like most SimCity nannies, isn't actually good at taking care of kids. She traps Erin in her high chair claiming she needs to be fed, when in fact Erin is very tired, and just wants to go to bed.

Even though Nathan and Michelle's hours don't uniformly overlap, Michelle isn't too keen on getting up in the wee hours to take care of Erin, so hires a nanny. The nanny, like most SimCity nannies, isn't actually good at taking care of kids. She traps Erin in her high chair claiming she needs to be fed, when in fact Erin is very tired, and just wants to go to bed. In the middle of winter, Michelle enjoys having her friends over for a spot of lunch, and watching the game on tv. Michelle also hosts an outing to Green's Hall downtown for some cards, games and pool. Nathan would like to earn some money, so is keen to play some mahjongg with high stakes. Unfortuntately neither of the couple are that good at the games, and end up losing quite a few simoleons. So far, Nathan has been doing much of teaching Erin her skills, but lest it be said that Michelle is an errant mother, she reads a book to Erin, and teaches her a nursery rhyme. The pair enjoy playing in the snow. Erin even likes to eat it! No one in this household is particularly neat. The bathroom is particularly filthy. Nathan breaks down and hires a maid to keep the house clean. Michelle gets a womrat called Panda Eyes, since it looks a bit like a panda. She loves playing with it after work. Michelle also enjoys going shopping almost every day, and often takes her friend Rosalie. While she's at the shop, Michelle often entertains the other customers with some freestyling. She's not usually successful with getting tips however. Perhaps you need to work on your creativity Mich? It's Erin's birthday, and Christmas, and the Chens host a party in honour of the occasion. Erin grows up as a precocious pre-schooler. Nathan finds himself smitten with Rosalie, and yearns to do lots of things with her... possibly things that a married man shouldn't do.

AN: Very very annoying that. All of Nathan's wants revolved around flirting with Rosalie, but I didn't feel like causing marital problems in the Chen household at this juncture. As a result, his aspiration points went way down. Due to Michelle's good cooking skills, the Chens are the only household in the neighbourhood who actually serve turkey at their christmas party. Santa doesn't care, and just goes for the cookies.
 School is called off due to a snow day, so Erin and her mum make a snowman. Eating all of her mum's cooking has made Erin a little chubby, so she exercises a bit to loose some weight.
 Nathan works during the day, and Michelle works in the evening, which doesn't leave much couple-time. Even though Nathan wants to rest up for getting a promotion at work, Michelle really wants to go dating, and convinces him for a late night at The Imperial pub. A group of them get together and start an improptu jam band. With the snow easing up, Michelle can play soccer again.
 She and Erin also enjoy dancing together... ... while Nathan is busy studying his skills for work. Sometimes Nate feels like he and his wife are like chalk and cheese! He also decides to take advantage of the spring weather, and sets up and edible garden. He plants some tomato seeds, and an orange tree. Erin does really well in school. Not only does she get an A+, but she makes 1st percussion chair in the school band, and earns $200 for the extra performances. She also makes friends with Tara Lew, one of her classmates. Erin is a little on the grouchy side, so Nathan spends a lot of time encouraging her to be nicer. During a particularly busy day at the restaurant, Michelle has to deal with broken cooking equipment. As a substitute, she serves up her VeggieMight burgers to the customers, who lap them up. As a result, her manager promotes her to Hostess. The promotion means that Michelle has to wear a ridiculous uniform to work, including many pieces of flair.

Michelle also cooks up some yummy burgers for her co-workers at a work BBQ, and gains some more cuisine enthusiasm.

Nathan unfortunately isn't doing as well at work. He uses a gentler explosive during an expedition, and they can't get through to where they want to go as a result. He loses a days pay!
 It's Halloween, and Michelle buys Erin a mermaid costume.

(AN: I know it's spring, but the Holidays pack supports 4 holidays, and I thought I would spread them equally between the 4 seasons. In Australia it's spring and summer when we celebrate Halloween and New Years anyway, so having Sim-Christmas in winter was the strange event for me.)
 After the Chens go trick or treating, they stop by the Leisure centre, and indulge in their favourite seasonal activities, such as playing catch, and skating. Michelle is busy dreaming about the skating she was doing, and accidentally sets the kitchen on fire!
