Hi, again. Well, this is the longest chapter I've done so far, and probably the longest I'll ever write. You finally start to get a magical feeling in this chapter. For everyone that has liked my story so far, you'll love this part. There will be a lot of twists coming up soon. I know you all look forward to Emma talking to you at the beginning of each chapter. But, you won't talk to her this chapter because this part goes along with the last chapter. Now don't be too disappointed; you'll talk to her soon. Enjoy!!
We saw our parents and aunt standing at the end of the hallway, smiling. They were still wearing those welcoming smiles not those clown-like ones. Then, I noticed that they were standing next to an old mirror at the end of the hallway. The mirror was long, a little rusted and had a lot of cracks. I always thought the mirror was pointless. No one ever has any reason to go back there, except if they dropped something off the stairs while walking up them. Once, I even asked Dad to take down the mirror. I told him that I thought the mirror was 'pointless'. All he said was “Everything has a point, a use, or a reason.” I never figured out what use there could be for an old rusty mirror, but now, we were about to find out.
We all stood there in silence, starring at each other. Finally, I cracked. I couldn’t take it anymore. I was sick of not knowing anything. “Okay, I’m sick of the secrets! Tell me what the crap is going on!” I yelled at my parents and aunt. I turned to see my sisters smiling at me as if to say ”good job”. I had never yelled at my parents before or my aunt. I didn’t like feeling angry at them, but I just couldn’t stand it.
“That’s what we’re here to show you,” dad said still smiling. In fact, all three of them were smiling even though I just yelled at them. “Hun, go first, so you can show them how to use the portal. “PORTAL!” I yelled in my head. “WHAT THE HECK IS A PORTAL DOING IN MY HOUSE? I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THEY EXISTED!”
Our dad turned and ran into the mirror. He didn’t just run into it; he went through it. We watched him disappear in amazement. We were intrigued and scared at the same time. I just stood there starring with my mouth wide open.
Then, mom turned to Aunt Ivy. “Do you want me to stay with them?” mom gestured to us. “No. I’ll take them. No problem, sis,” Aunt Ivy answered smiling. Then, mom turned and disappeared into the mirror, or portal, or whatever you want to call it. She smiled the whole time. For some reason when she went through it there was a flash of pale blue and white light. It was almost like white lightning had hit the mirror. It lasted for a split second. I didn’t even have enough time to cover my eyes.
After she was gone, Aunt Ivy turned to us with a smug smile. “Who’s next?” she asked. Anger hit me when she asked that. Either it's the fact she sounded so smug or the fact she’s asking us to go through a mirror.
“You've got to be kidding me!” Chris said angrily. “We're not going through that! Heck, we’re not going anywhere with you!” I said fiercely. “Yeah.” Ray murmured quietly. “Oh, wow! I never knew you girls were so tough. But, the fact is you’re not in charge!” she said sarcastically with a evil smile on her face. “Anyway, who’s next?” she asked sounding sweet again. “How about,” she asked as if she was in deep thought, “Chris.” She hissed her name evily. Without thinking, Chris started to walk up to our aunt. I stood my ground and kept on staring at my aunt. “No, Chris, don’t go!” Ray said shaking. Chris stopped and looked back. “No, Chris, it’s okay. I’m right behind you... go,” I whispered. I decided that if we wanted to know what was going on, we had to go through it. Ray gave me a questioning look, but I ignored her. “Okay.” Chris answered.
She took a shaky step forward into the mirror. “We’re going to find out what’s going on here,” I called out to her. I was still staring at Aunt Ivy, though. Then, Chris disappeared into the mirror.
“Now, that wasn’t so bad, was it?” Aunt Ivy said while staring into the mirror. She turned to look at us. “Ray, why don’t you go next?” “No!” Ray yelled while rubbing her hands, nervously. I gave her a reassuring look and said “It’s okay. I’ll be right there.” I smiled sweetly. Well, as sweetly as I could at that moment because I was really ticked off. She took a step in front of me and looked back. I nodded. “You’ll be fine. It’s okay.” She continued to walk again. I watched her disappear into the mirror and whispered, “It’s okay.” I didn’t know that for sure, but I was praying that I was right.
My aunt looked straight into my eyes. I felt a shiver as she did. “Well, it looks like you’re next.” she said coldly. I shivered, again. As I walked by, I felt her icy gaze on me. As the last bit of me went through the portal, I heard her say “Have fun!” and she laughed that witch-like laugh, just like the other night. That was the last thing I remember. I blacked out after that. I woke up on the cold hard floor staring at legs. The legs had on baggy black pants with a lot of buckles and chains. “Are you awake?” the person asked kindly. I knew that voice. I looked up and saw the cat woman. She held out a hand or claw. The hand was human, but her nails were jet black and long. They weren’t painted. They were their natural color. Her nails looked like they could rip metal apart. I hit her hand away, even through I was afraid she could kill me or at least scratch my skin off. I jumped up, dizzily. I didn’t care that I wasn’t feeling okay. I looked around panicked. “Oh my Gosh! Don’t hurt me! I just want to get home with my sisters!” I pleaded.
“Emma, stop being such a drama queen!” Chris demanded. I looked to where her voice was coming from. She was standing by a cat-like man, and Ray was standing on the other side of him. We were in a library of some sort. The cat man was wearing a button-down white shirt with a black vest and jeans. His hair was jet black, and it was messy looking. “Are you girls okay? These cat people didn’t hurt you, right, and…and why are you wearing that silver dress? When did your hair get so long and silver?” I asked. “First of all, these 'cat people’ have names, and, no, they didn’t hurt us. They're nice.” Ray started. “And secondly, you have on the same dress and your hair is longer and silver too.” Ray finished, no longer sounding nervous.
I looked at myself. I did have on the same dress and my hair was longer then it ever had been before. I could feel the silver strands falling down my back. “Why…how…what’s going on here?” I asked, still looking at myself.
The cat woman walked up to me slowly. “Sorry I scared you,” she said kindly. "It’s just, that was the first time you used a magic portal. The first time you use one, you black out and then pass out.” She shrugged and then continued, “ I’m Tigress,” she purred. I noticed that she was standing in front of a black caldron with red smoke coming out of it. Next to it was an open book setting on a pedestal with a half-melted, crimson candle.
“That’s my husband Leo.” She gestured to the cat man. He smiled and nodded as if to say, "Hello." “Again, I’m sorry, maam. “Wait. Why did you call me, maam, and what do you mean by magic portal?” I asked. I was completely confused. “Your parents sent us to take you girls to them. And, all your question will be answered once you see them.” Leo said so calm, it was almost creepy.
“How are you going to take us to them?” Ray asked. “And, how do you two know our parents?” Chris spoke up. “Again, all your questions will be answered soon.” Tigress answered. “But, we know your parents because we live with them in their, your real home.” I was about to ask what our real home was, but Leo held up his claw-like hand to silence me. “Your highnesses, please no more questions. and I’ll show you how to get to your parents.” He walked up to the last huge bookcase in the row against the wall and pulled on a small book. He took a step back. He gave us a smile and turned back to the bookcase.
It began to turn. We were staring in amazement. I looked at Tigress. She looked as if that happened all the time. But, there again, compared to all the weird stuff that has happened lately, that was not really odd. Then, the bookcase turned halfway around. I could see a small hallway now. It had white and blue pillars with a bright, shining white marble floor. Leo went in, and the bookcase closed behind him. I was going to walk up to the bookcase to check it out. I took a step, but was stopped by a hand on my shoulder. “I'm sorry, Emer…I mean maam. You have to enter in the order you were born. So, Chris will go first because she was born first. You only have to do that the first time you use it. Afterward, it doesn’t matter. And, no, you won’t pass out. That’s only with the portal. It knocks you out because, well, it’s very powerful magic.” I looked at her face, and she was smiling. I could see her teeth poking through her lips. I nodded in agreement.
“Okay Chris, you go first.” Tigress said while turning to my sister. Chris walked up to the bookcase. She looked at all the books, but then her eyes stopped on one single book. She pulled on it. She acted as though she had done it before. The bookcase opened, and Chris went in. While the bookcase was closing, Tigress’ gaze fell on Ray. “Your turn, maam.” Tigress made a purring noise after she said that. Ray went up to the bookcase. She pulled on the novel. Again, she acted as though she had done it before. As the bookcase opened, I saw Chris waiting on the other side for her sisters, smiling.
“You’re up your highness.” Tigress gestured to the bookcase. “Why does she keep on calling me that?” I asked myself. “Don’t worry, I’ll be right behind you.” she said sweetly.
She did as she promised. As I walked up to it, she came right behind me. I put my hand on the novel. The odd thing was that I knew exactly what I was doing. I felt like I had done it a million times before. When I pulled back, I felt a little shock go up my arm. It didn’t hurt, it just surprised me. As I walked through, I heard the bookcase close behind me. I ran up to my sisters that were waiting for me. “Wasn’t that awesome?” Chris chirped. “Yeah, that was something.” I said trying not to sound sarcastic. “Hey, where’s Leo?” I asked. “He’s just up the hall.” Ray answered. “So…what do we do now?” I asked. My sisters shrugged in a 'I don’t know’ way. I heard the bookcase open behind me. “Wait! If I lose you, your aunt will have my head!” I heard Tigress yell behind me. “I thought you lived with our parents? Why would our aunt have your head?” I asked curiously. “Well, I actually live with your aunt, but since she moved in with you, I live with your parents now too,” she answered as she ran up to us.
“Here, let me in front so I can guide you.” We moved out of her way while she walked between us to get to the front. “You parents are just up the hall.” Thanks for reading!! That was a really long chapter. I'm going back to shorter ones, again. Please comment.

!!! But are they going to be "royalty"? Because no offense of anything, but it's a bit annoying how most of the time, when people have "magic powers" they have those magic powers because they are actually from another wolrd. Another than that though, good job!!!
