I ran away... ran away from everything.
I don't want to live a life like this anymore. It's too painful...
it's too painful to be chained on to expectations of people
and to forget that you dictate your destiny..
You own your life I am Aerith Johnson, a lass from Hidden Springs.
My family is well known in our place. I don't want to brag but i don't want to lie either.
My family is rich. Too rich perhaps... I'm indeed wealthy but i can't afford that thing i always wanted... freedom. My parents always decide for me.
Specifically, my dad.
I've been keeping all my grudge to myself.
I love my parents... i don't want to put them down.
I love them... but do they love me?
Does dad love me?
How could he?
It was my birthday when he told me "Aerith... i found a nice man for you to marry."
"Marry? What? ... No, i won't dad... i won't"
"Don't you dare disobey me, young lady. You have to marry Mr. Devon Coleman. He's the son of my best friend from Twinbrook and they're the richest family there"
"Dad listen..."

"Best? What do you know what's best for me? Dad, you don't even know me... you never bothered to know me."
"Young lady, i am your father ... i know what's best for you!"

"Marry him."
"NO DAD! I'm sorry... Dad, i never disobeyed you all my life. Can you just please let me decide for my self this time?" "You are my heiress and in my order you are marrying Mr.Devon Coleman whether you like it or not!"
He never listened to me. I ran towards mom and cried. Mom understood me.
But still... she thinks that dad is right. She always do. "Cheer up, my princess... Everything will be alright, you'll see..."
"Mom, i don't want to marry..."
"But you have to obey your Dad..."
"Mom..." Mom loves dad too much that she can't see the flaw of what he's doing.
I love my parents but i have to save myself from this emptiness...
I have to save myself... i have to run away. I found myself in the city of bright lights, Bridgeport.
Penniless, homeless... this perhaps is the consequence i have to face. I woke up.. it was my second day in the city. I was hungry... very hungry.
Then, i found a newspaper fronting the bench where i slept.
Perhaps this could help me. I searched for anything that might help me in my condition.
Celebrity news... Sports news... Hiring...
Now hiring : nothing but "MAID" "Hello... is this the Martin's residence? I found your ad on the newspaper and...."
This is my only solution.
No other solutions were offered.
I had to... i felt that i had to. Then... i found myself standing in front of a huge villa....
Well, this is it... I grinned and my tummy grumbled. "Well... you must be the applicant..." a beautiful lady came out of the house and greeted me. "Hello... My name is Lora, one of the maids of Master Martin. You must be? "
"I'm...."
"hmmm?"
"A....A..."
"A?"
"Annie... Annie Laurie." I grinned... hey! Wasn't that my favorite classical piece?
"Nice to meet you, Annie! You know, you came just in time! We really need a brand new maid. "I also need a brand new job" I giggled.
"Well, you see , the last maid just quitted and we badly need help around this big house." Lora added.
"How many are you left?"
"Out of 5, now it's only the buttler and me... the rest left. Master is quite rough but i know you can do it."
"I have to do it or i'll die..." I thought.
"You must be tired... come..."
She led me inside. It was a beautiful house. Simple, yet classy.
Then, i thought... how on earth did i end up being a maid... An heiress to a maid. Oh, life... at least somehow, i'm not chained anymore. "This is our quarters... Well, you have to dress up now... the clothes are there in the closet. I'll wait for you outside."
This is it...
I'm nervous and quite of excited.
Maid duties from now on, huh? I hope my summer camp experience will suffice. "Perfect! You look cute!"
"Thanks..."
"Now... all we need is for you to meet the boss. Are you ready?"
"As i'll ever be..." I gulped.
