Hola guys~! Yeah, I know I have been on a long hiatus, pretty apologetic about that.
Hope you are well and Happy New Year! :D
I’ll try to carry on from where I left off, getting a little rusty >.<
Ok, here goes nothing...

In the last chapter, Chris finally met with David and made sure to David that he has no intentions of joining the mob.
Chris would only exchange information of Operation Blitzkerg for information about the missing Joanne.
After Chris left, Joanne showed herself and finally revealed that she’s the God Father’s daughter...

 The Brenny sisters finally found some peace and quiet.
In the day, the beach was simply crawling with people; locals and tourists alike.
There was hardly any space for them to even lay a beach mat for a sun tan...

Then Barb made an interesting suggestion; “Why not we come back in the evening?”

Fred raised an eyebrow, “But... What about our tan?”

Barb puffed her cheeks and replied, “Sis, you know that we have no way of finding a place any time during the day.
Why not come back in the evening and have the place all to ourselves?
We could always get our tan from the hikes and tours in the afternoon....”

With that said, Fred pondered a little and gave in. And so, here they are, enjoying a cool evening at the beach.
 “I have to say, sis. This has to be one of your better ideas...” Fred commented.

“I know, right?” Barb grinned smugly. “Though, if you really want to thank somebody, well...
You should be thanking David, it was his suggestion in the first place.”

“Hmph, that David... I can’t believe at least half of what he’s saying. I mean, gangs and mobsters?
In Vice City?! One of the safest cities in the world? I really don’t think so...” Fred went on.

Barb kept to herself. She knew Fred was right, that was why they chose to do a vacation here in the first place.
However, what if they were wrong?
What if David was right...?
 Chris watched the news, listening to recent events that unfolded in Vice City.

“... The police’s recent attempts to nab a group of criminals have been unsuccessful, this group is known to have ties to the God Father, a fabled underground faction leader that has managed to escape jurisdiction for years...”

*click*

Chris heard enough, he knew this would happen. He knew what he was signing himself in for.
 For the past few weeks, he gave David intelligence of the cops' movements and advised on possible routes to make clean escapes.
And so far, his recommendations seem to be working.

Chris walked towards the window and took a deep breath, filling his lungs with air of the night and sighed heavily.

The problem is, that the mob seems to be getting a little too daring.
Their plans started getting more ambitious and got more attention from the media, which served only to increase their infamy.
He even started getting labelled as the mysterious “Pen” of the underworld, a figure whoo writes plans for the God Father.
It was also known that the God Father has the “Sword” as well, though, who could it be Chris has no idea and he really couldn’t be bothered. They could call him "The Pig" and he wouldn't have flinched.

All he cares is that the God Father foots his part of the deal by giving Chris information on Joanne.
Now Chris knows that Joanne is in Vice City and she is alive, which brought him great relief and renewed determination.
But... How far would he go for her?
Fred looks at a distance and was lost in thought...

Vice City is certainly beautiful; pulsing with vibrancy and excitement.
The vacation here would have been perfect...

If only her mind didn’t stop thinking about what David had told her and Barb...
“Places to avoid?” Fred recalled his words. He only made her more curious.
 “Hey sis, its getting late. You should be getting ready for bed. Don’t forget to brush though!” Barb came and reminded Fred.

“Thanks, sis. I’ll be coming in a moment...”

Barb looked at Fred, “Is something the matter?”
 “Why, nothing! Don’t worry about me, Barb! You go on ahead!” Fred replied quickly.

“...” Barb studied Fred, “There’s something you are not telling me, Fred...
It’s what David told us, right?”
 Fred gaped, “Wh-What? How did you know?”

“I was thinking about it too, he had me curious back at the cafe.”

“Oh Barb, I feel so silly. I feel like...”
 “You want to be like Nancy Drew?” Barb finished the sentence.

“You know me too well, Sis.” Fred laughed. "I really do want to see those 'places we should avoid'..."

“What can I say? I can read you like a book!” Bard gestured proudly.
 “Looks like its time for another Fred & Barb adventure, eh sis?” Fred grinned.

“Exactly, no vacation is complete without some excitement and thrills!” Barb looks excitedly at Fred.
“But... I can’t help the feeling that we may be getting in something way over our heads...”

“Relax, sis. If the situation starts to look bad or get out of hand, we will get the first flight out of here! No problem!”

“I hope you are right, Fred.” Barb sighed, “I really hope so...”
 Not too far away, across the river bank, the Brenny sisters failed to notice a figure that has been observing them during the conversation.

“Haha, these ladies are indeed interesting... So they want to know more about the game we are playing.” David laughed to himself.
“I really have to admire their bravery and thirst for excitement...”
 “But they must be careful, for even I do not know what would happen if they were to cross paths with the underworld, much less with the God Father...”
David smiled. He knows that these uncertainties are the things that make the game so much more unpredictable, so much more... interesting...

Of course, he knows that he cannot rush things too quickly.
For the cat that plays too hard with a mouse, may end up hurting it.
 Yes, he will play it slow and savour the events that are to come. David knows that he is just a pawn.

After all, nothing escapes the God Father, everything seems to fall within his expectations.
Having a great wit, a sharp eye for details and a deep understanding of world events put the God Father in a totally different league from the other mob leaders. The God Father was a visionary.

That was why David followed him in the first place, he knows this man would bring about a great change to the world.
And he wants to be the first to see the new world that the God Father will create. Chris stared at his desktop and banishes all doubt about the repercussion of his actions, if he was to be denied a place in Heaven, he would gladly accept the judgement after saving Joanne Walker...

The Brenny sisters started exploring Vice City, this time not simply as tourists, but as investigators...

David hums to himself a strange tune, meantime getting himself lost in his dreams of the world to come...
 That’s it folks :D

    I am sure Fred brushes before she goes to sleep \:D  and... wow... Vice City ... what have you in store for the sisters... what is David up to? Will Chris be there to rescue them... if so needed?  Too bad Fred won't get her tan... it is quite dark at the beach at night \:D
