ENJOY!
ENJOY! The next few days were the roughest.
As she looked in the mirror, Thalia couldn't help but cry and talk to herself, "Dear god, why did you have to take both of my parents from me. What did I do to deserve this?" Jemma: "Thalia, I know your hurting, but momma and papa would hate to see you like this. Your young, so live! Going around day by day like this is unhealthy!"
Thalia: *sobbing* "I know, Jem, but they were my parents. I have no one now. I'm all alone.
Jemma: "You're never alone, you have Colin, me and most of all you have Luke!"
Luke enters the room.
Luke: "Baby, we're always going to be here for you. We'll help you through this, just like we've helped you through everything else."(find a way to make her laugh!), he thought to himself. "You remember that time at lunch were you spilled your water in your lap, and we all helped you get to the bathroom so you could change without anyone noticing?"
Thalia didn't respond, she just laid her head on his shoulder, and cried some more. She knew they were just trying to cheer her up, but they didn't know what she was going through. She was exhausted but the events from the following days kept coming back to haunt her. Eventually her eyes wouldn't stay open, and she gave in. She curled up in a ball, and slept on the couch, alone. The couch become her new 'bed', but tonight Luke was done giving her space. He stayed by her all night.
Luke: "I need to do something, sooner or later the money is going to run out and then she'll definitely be more depressed and stuck in a rut." So he picked up the paper, and began his search for a job.
Luke: "Perfect, that'll do! Right after school, but still enough time to spend with Thalia." Luke: "Thalia, baby it's been almost two weeks since you've been at school. Your grades are dropping, everyone is worried about you."
Thalia: "I'm just not in the mood for it all. I'll see you guys when you get home."
Luke: "No, it's time to move on. Your going to school wether you like it or not. It's our senior year, we are suppose to be enjoying it. You fall behind now, your going to be a senior next year too. Now, you've got 10 minutes before the bus comes, be ready or your going as is."
Thalia rolled her eyes, but she knew Luke was right. She worked so hard for her straight A's, prom was coming up and she's been looking forward to that since grade school. Right after prom was graduation, and she couldn't wait to get out of this small town. 15 minutes later and she was on her way back to school.
Thalia: "Thank you."
Luke: "For what?"
Thalia: "For making me come back to school, sticking by me, trying to cheer me up, and still being with me after everything these past two weeks."
Luke: "No need to thank me, that's what I'm suppose to do Thalia. I'm your boyfriend, your best friend. What kind of person do you think I am, that I would just leave you at your most vulnerable state? I love you, and I understand they were your parents, but c'mon Lia, you weren't that close with them. You told me yourself you couldn't wait to get away from them and this small town."
Thalia: "Luke, really? Why are you so bitter? I'm grieving, like any normal person who just lost someone close to them. I lost not one but both of my parents in the same damn day Luke. Have some heart!"
Luke: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you more. It's just I hate seeing you so low. I just miss my happy, cheerful, outgoing girl." After school, Luke still had to convince her to do her homework.
Luke: "I'm glad you came today. I know it was overwhelming but it'll get better."
Thalia: "Everytime I tried to forget, someone different came up to me, reminding me."
Luke: "It'll get better babe, now back to your homework. It's not gonna do its self." A month went by, and Thalia was more herself.
Luke: "I'm glad things are getting back to how they were. You know we haven't watched the stars in almost two months."
Thalia: "It's long overdue. This is so calming. I love you Luke, I hope the rest of our lives are just like this. It feels like the whole world stops when I'm staring at the stars with you, this will always be 'our' thing."
Luke smiled: "I love you, now get over here so I can hold you."
Thalia scooted closer to him, and breathed in his scent. God he smelled good.
Thalia: "Luke, I want to move, this house is just a reminder of the past. I want you to move in with me."
Luke: "Babe, that's the best idea you've had in awhile. Let's do it." A week later, Thalia was saying goodbye to the place she called home for the past 17 years. The house were she grew up in, and the house that held a lot of bad memories. Thalia, Luke, Jemma, and Colin found a nice house closer to town. It was exactly what Thalia wanted. Huge kitchen, and a nice porch. The first morning in their new home, Thalia made a nice big breakfast. Nobody knew how passionate she was about cooking ; nobody knew she wanted to make a career out of it either.
Thalia: "Hope everyone enjoyed their pancakes."
Jemma: "Oh my god, Lia, these are amazing."
Colin: "Yeah I had no idea you even knew how to work a stove." After school Luke finally started his first job, it wasn't much, but it paid the bills.
Luke: "Hope today doesn't suck, I really need this." With Luke at work, Thalia decided she was going to start on her homework.
Thalia: "Like Luke always says, 'It's not gonna do its self'. God this is so boring just sitting in this house after school."
So she did some research, and got herself an after school job along with some after school activities.
Thalia: "If I keep myslef busy, I won't have time to think. I know Luke will be upset we won't be able to spend much time together, but I need to keep busy." she said to herself. As Luke walked in his home after his first day of work, he was immediately greeted by Thalia.
Thalia: "Hi, honey. How was school and WORK?"
Luke: "It was great, work was way better then expected. How was YOUR day?"
Thalia: "Good. I got all my make-up work done, and homework. I signed up for the drama club, and even got a part time job at the spa down the road."
Luke: "What?"
Thalia: "I figured you needed some help with the bills. I have drama club on Tuesday's and Friday's, I work all the other days."
Luke: "I got the job at the grocery store so you wouldn't have to work, Lia. So what about 'us' time? Did you even calculate some YOU time in there? What about time with your 'friends'?"
Thalia: "If it gets to be to much, I'll quit. Luke, I just wanted to help."
Luke walked away without saying another word to her. Luke sat in the kitchen, eating left over pancakes.
Good god, these are delicious, he thought to himself.
Luke: "I really overreacted, she's just trying to help, unlike some other people in this house. Damn, I hope she isn't to mad at me." He said to himself. The next morning when Thalia walked in the kitchen, she saw the roses on the dining room table.
She picked up the card that read 'I'm sorry I overreacted, forgive me? I love you. -Luke'
Thalia left the card and roses where she found them and left for school.
Thalia: "I don't have time to deal with his mood swings, my first day of work is today." As Thalia walked into the front doors of the spa, she knew she was going to enjoy this job.
Thalia: "Phase one of getting out of this town is now in motion!" The next few days Thalia noticed Luke became very distant.
Thalia thought to herself, 'he can't still be mad at me. I'm the one that has every right to be mad. Oh well' Its was 2 in the morning, Thalia couldn't sleep. So she decided to go visit her favorite fishing spot that her dad used to take her to all the time.
It was more beautiful then she remembered .... That's when she saw them, Luke and Lola.
Thalia: (to herself) He brought HER to our spot. Why is he out here so late with her anyway? What's going on???? Then she saw why they were out there, alone.
Thalia: (to herself) Oh my god. I knew it. I knew there was a reason he's been so distant. I can't take this ... I ... I ..... Thalia: "I can't believe this, he said he loved me. That I was the only one for him. Oh my god."
.... she ran until she couldn't run anymore.
****Hope you enjoyed pt.1, keep a look out for pt. 2 :)
