"Oh, you're early. Why .. " Her mother looked at Lynsea's face. Her eyes were full of tears. "Oh my, what happened, Lyns?"

"I saw him kissing another girl," she cried. "I saw him kissing Stephanie!" Tears were filling her eyes, her vision blurred.

"Oh, Lynsea .. come." She led her to the couch.
 Lynsea lay on the couch. "Why, mom. Why did he do that to me?"

"I don't know, sweety. But let me tell you a story. When I was your age, I got my heart broken for the first time too. I know how it feels, sweety. There's nothing you can really do. They say time heals the pain."

"Then why is it getting worse?" asked Lynsea. Her mother couldn't answer her question. "I'm going upstairs." Lynsea stood up. Why.. why me? Yeah, why me? What did I even think? How could I think a boy like Randy could fall in love with me? I guess love really makes people blind.

She heard the doorbell rang downstairs. She didn't want to go so she let her mother open the door. It was Randy. "Oh.. it's you. What are you doing here, Randy?" "Is Lynsea home?" he asked. "Yeah, but you better leave, Randy."

"No, wait. I .. I can explain this. It isn't what Lynsea thought she saw. Please, let me explain." Randy begged Lynsea's mom.

"Alright kiddo, you've got one minute to explain this whole thing or I'll kick your out."

"Right. See, Stephanie asked me if she could talk to me. I was okay with that. She said she still loved me after everything. I said I loved your daughter, Lynsea. I wanted to walk away, but she grabbed my arm and suddenly .. she kissed me." Randy's voice went softer as he spoke.

Lynsea's mother didn't really believe him, but she let him inside. "She's upstairs.." He knocked on her door.

"Who's there?"

"It's me.." Lynsea rose from her bed as Randy walked in without any permission.

"What are you doing here, Randy?" She didn't want to look at his face, so she turned her back at him.

"Lynsea, please .. don't do this to me," he said and touched her shoulder with his hand. "Don't do this to me?!?!" She shouted. "Don't you dare to say that again! I didn't do anything, Randy. It was you who did this to me!" She wiped the tears from her face.

"Alright, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, Lyns."

"Tell me why you're here." She commanded. "See," said Randy and explained the whole thing.

Just like her mother, she didn't really believed him. "Well, if you don't believe I really, really, reaaaally like you, Lynsea .. I think I should prove myself then." Lynsea didn't know what to expect. And then, suddenly, Randy kissed her. The little butterflies rose from her stomach, just like the first kiss. "Do you believe me now?" he laughed.

"Yeah, I guess." She smiled too.

 The two talked for a while on Lynsea's bed. And while Lynsea slowly fell asleep, Randy watched her. He took her glasses of and whispered in her ear:

"I really do love you, Lynsea. You have my heart and soul. I never felt this way before.. And I won't let you go again. I won't hurt you again." And so, he fell asleep next to her.
