Chapitre 3 : Morts dans le quartier After my parents' death, I went to university. There, I made some friends with whom I studied. There were twins sisters called Eden and Edora.

Après la mort de mes parents, je suis allée à l'université. Là, je me suis fait des amies avec qui j'étudiais. Il y avait notamment des soeurs jumelles : Eden et Edora. I studied the human body and was very surprised of all the things I discovered inside ! A rocket !? How could this be possible ?

J'étudiais le corps humain, mais fut très surprise par tout ce que je découvrais à l'intérieur ! Une fusée !? Comment cela était-il possible ? But one day, as I was talking with Edora, things became much less funny.
"You know, both of our parents died recently", she said.

Mais un jour, alors que je parlais avec Edora , les choses devinrent moins amusantes.
"Tu sais, nos deux parents sont morts récemment", dit-elle. "Not only our parents", Eden added. "A lot of persons died recently in the neighborhood. And each time...

"Pas seulement nos parents" ajouta Eden. "Beaucoup de personnes sont mortes récemment dans le quartier. Et à chaque fois... ...Joanne was there ! Horrora, you probably know this old lady who lives next to your house. Well, she invites herself and spends the whole afternoon, chatting of this and that. But nobody really knows why she comes.

A chaque fois, elle semble attendre quelque chose... ... and something always happens ! The Grim Reaper appears and asks for the seniors of the house.

... et quelque chose arrive inmanquablement ! La Grande Faucheuse arrive et demande la vie des personnes agées de la maison. How many people died recently in the neighborhood ? I'm not sure, but they were all old and healthy. They died too soon !

Combien de personnes sont mortes récemment dans le quartier ? Je n'en suis pas sûre, mais ils étaient tous vieux et en bonne santé. Ils sont morts trop tôt ! And Joanne was always there to witness the deaths.

Et Joanne était toujours là pour voir ces décès. Sometimes, she pretended to cry with the rest of the family, sometimes... she even smiled !

J'étais stupéfaite par ce qu'Eden avait dit ! Je n'en croyais pas mes oreilles ! After the surprise came the anger.
"Why don't the police invistigate on these deaths ?" I asked.
"They are natural deaths," Emerald (the green guy) replied. "After all, nobody saw Joanne doing anything wrong. She was just there, that's all !"

Après la surprise vint la colère.
"Pourquoi la police ne fait-elle pas une enquête sur ces morts ?" demandais-je.
"Ce sont des morts naturelles" me répondit Emeraude (le type vert)."Après tout, personne n'a jamais vu Joanne faire quoi que ce soit de répréhensible. Elle était juste présente, c'est tout !" "I'm sure she's responsible", I said. "And someone got to prove it !"

"Je suis sûre qu'elle est responsable", dis-je. "Et quelqu'un doit le prouver !" Edora and Emerald looked at each other, both thinking "she's crazy !"

Edora et Emeraude se regardèrent, pensant tous les deux :"Elle est folle !" But on the next morning, while I was preparing breakfast, I took my decision. Someone had to do something about these deaths, and I was this "someone" !

Mais le lendemain matin, en préparant le petit déjeuner, je pris ma décision. Quelqu'un devait faire quelque chose pour ces mort, et j'étais ce "quelqu'un" ! I phoned to Joanne : one day she offered me to move into her house, now I was ready to go ! I was determined to find out the truth.

Je téléphonais à Joanne : un jour elle m'avait offert de venir vivre dans sa maison, maintenant, j'étais prête à y aller. J'étais déterminée à trouver la véritée.
