"Will you marry me?"
I didn't even have to think, I already knew my answer.
"Yes! Yes, yes, yes a million times yes!" "Oh. My. God. Dylan! Are you sure this is what you want? Once you're married, there is no turning back! You're stuck with one chick for the rest of your life! No other girls, no going out and partying, nights where you have to sleep on the couch because you forgot to put the toilet seat down..." he trailed off.'
"And I'm ready. Wait, the toilet seat?" I laughed.
"Never mind that! What if she tells you she wants kids!?! What will you do then?! You can't go running for the hills anymore!"
"She already told me she wants at least three kids. I think it'll be fun." I answered.
"Dude, changing diapers and cleaning messes is not fun."
"That's not all that you do when you're a parent. You teach your children life lessons. Watch them grow up and start families of their own," I explained.
"Oh, no. You're too far gone, now. No use in trying to stop you. You're ready for a new life in hell."
"No matter what Brock said, I know what I want. I want to spend the rest of my life with Bethany. Grow old with her. Have children. As many as she wants. I know I'm ready to open this new chapter with her. Only if she'll say yes.
I got the ring and we made our way our of there. Tonight. Tonight is when I could become an (almost) married man.
This is our new house! Isn't it so beautiful?! And perfect! The space is out of this world! 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen and dining area big enough for six, a nice garage, a living area, three bedrooms, and a workout room for Dylan. It's everything I've ever wanted. If only my parents could see how happy I am.. They would be so proud. It took me all day just to get everything where it's supposed to be. We don't have much, but all we really need is each other. "Do you like it?" I asked Dylan when he came home from the grocery store.
"I love it. Speaking of things I love... I want to take you out tonight," he answered.
"But I look so.... Dirty!" I explained.
"Well, get cleaned up! You deserve to go out tonight. You worked so hard. I just want to show you how much I appreciate it."
"Aw! You're so good to me! Going to go shower right now." I smiled.
Once I showered and applied a bit of makeup, we were on our way. When we arrived at the restaurant, I was in awe. Elegantly beautiful, is how I described it in my mind.
"This is beautiful! Are you sure we can afford it?" I asked Dylan, who was smiling ear to ear.
"I have a friend that works here who can give us a discount," he winked.
We were finally seared and ordered our meals.
"Thank you for this. I definitely feel appreciated," I said with a smile.
"Good, I'm glad." he replied.
After we ate, we decided to take a walk in the park.
"I don't know how tonight could get any better," I beamed.
"Don't speak too soon."
"Oh my god! What are you doing?"
"Bethany Joy Sawyer, you are amazing, intelligent, beautiful and ambitious. I have fell for every trait of yours, and I know you are what I want."
"Will you marry me?"
I didn't have to think. I already knew my answer.
"Yes! Yes, yes, yes a million times yes!"
