"Listen, Tati, I don't like you being so mysterious about that guy. I want to know more about him. Who is he, where does he live, what does he do for living etc"
"You don't have to worry about anything, sis. I'll call him today so we could grab a cup of coffee. Nothing serious."
"It doesn't look like that, believe me."
"I beg your pardon?!" - Tatiana got mad. "I said, it doesn't look like that. You are glowing! Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for you, but I need some details, for God's sake!"
"I'm not saying a darn thing anymore! For all these years, I've been looking after you, without questioning about anything, and for the first time since Derek's left me for another woman, I could feel again! So, no, I'm not saying anything to you and stop looking me like that. I had it enough! It's about time to change something in YOUR behavior. Stop acting like a spoiled brat and start acting like an adult!!!"
"I asked you a simple question, and you answer me like this?! I don't need this!"
"Wait, Maria..." Maria left the table, and headed to the restroom.
"Rafael, where are you, I am worried about you?" - Tatiana tried to sound normal after the fight she had with her sister.
"Hey, Tatiana, my father had a stroke, and thank God he is all right now. I mean, he needs a lot of medical care, but he will get over this. My mum needed support, so I had to stay a week longer, but I'm in town now."
"I sincerely hope that everything's gonna be fine. I don't want to bother you now that you have some personal problems, but I need to know what to do with Maria. When can she start working? I don't want to force you, but could you come over for lunch and we can chat a little?"
"Thank you Tatiana, I will be there for lunch. I need some company and something else to think of. I will come with Julia, so we can sign a contract. Gotta go now, bye" After finishing the conversation with Rafael, Tatiana dialed another number. Her heart was beating faster and faster. She felt like teenager. A beautiful male voice answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Um... hi Rodrigo ... it's me.. Tatiana..." - Tatiana was thinking - "What are you doing? He can't see you, try to sound normal!"
"Hey, Tatiana, I'm surprised you called. I guess you changed your mind about going out with me" - he smiled seductively. "Actually, I did, so I wondered, if you want, we can go to the local cafeteria tonight." - Tatiana sounded more relaxed.
"OK, I'll pick you up at 9 o'clock"
"Nine is fine. See you. Bye." - she giggled.
Maria was behind her all the time and she heard the conversation. She was annoyed, or maybe jealous? "This is disgusting! The way they talk over phone... simply ... disgusting!" - she left the room with waving hands expressing a protest. "Listen, Maria, I'm sorry about the things I said earlier this morning, but you really got me mad"
"It's OK, Tatiana, I kinda got used to your 'explosions' " - Maria was evil.
"Please, stop it here. Rafael is coming over to sign a contract with you, I guess you don't want him to find us in this horrible mood."
"I guess you're right." - Maria rolled her eyes.
The doorbell rang. "They're here". After greeting each other with friendly hugs, Julia agreed to play piano for them, while Tatiana and Rafael were talking about the contract and the club.
"Tatiana, I will be straight with you, if she wants to success in this field, she'll have to work hard. The competition is high, you know it the best. She should follow your example. The club is expecting high professionalism from her. And by that I mean ..."
"No kissing in public, no scandals, no nothing... What did I miss?" - she smiled friendly, but she looked tired. "Yes, Tatiana, those are serious rules invented by serious company. Every single requirement is written in the contract."
"Rafael, you're such a sweetheart. I don't know what I was going to do without you"
They hugged friendly, but Julia wasn't happy about it.
"Don't worry Tatiana, everything is going to be OK. The paycheck is big. Now, what's happened with our lunch?" Tatiana made a delicious chili con carne, while Rafael used that time to talk with Maria. "What do you think about the contract, Maria? You know that you have to read it carefully, right?"
"Yes, I know that. So, you're going to be my manager?"
"No. I'm Tatiana's manager. But I'll find you a great manager. A great friend of mine..."
"What?! But I want you to be my manager!"
"I'm sorry but that's not possible. I mean, it is allowed to have more than one client, but that's way difficult to manage..."
"Please, do something. Just for beginning, than, I can continue alone..."
Maria was a manipulator. She could handle situations like this very easy.
"Well, I'll try somehow..." "Lunch is ready" - Tatiana shouted from the dining room. The four of them had a nice, pleasant lunch with relaxing subjects to talk about. They weren't talking about work, nor about Rafael's father's health, since he was becoming nervous about that.
"So, Tatiana is having a date tonight" - Maria tried to make a problem on purpose. "Maria! Shh!" - Tatiana was embarrassed. "Oh, a date?!" - Rafael was estranged. In four years of collaboration, Tatiana was going out only with him, her sister and other dancers from the club, but never a guy. His smile disappeared, and every one in the room except Julia thought that it was because of his father. "I think that is nice. It was about time" - Julia laughed and Rafael look at her angrily. Suddenly, everybody stopped eating. The lunch was over in unpleasant way. Maria was satisfied. "I will help with the dishes" - Julia stood up from her chair. "Thanks Julia, I would appreciate that" - Tatiana replied, a little bit confused. "What just happened here?! Maria shouldn't have mentioned my date tonight, but what was that reaction?!" - Tatiana couldn't clear her thoughts.
Julia went out by the pool, Tatiana was putting the dishes in the dishwasher and Rafael and Maria were alone in the dining room. Maria was observing Rafael, and stated that he is super hot looking!"He is smokin' hot, he's not that old, 8 years older than me, he earns a lot. What an opportunity". She was trying to start a conversation with him, when her phone rang. "An unknown number" - Maria didn't have any idea who might be calling. "Sorry Rafael, maybe it's important". "Go ahead, no problem" - Rafael wasn't interested.
"Hello"
"Hi Maria, do you remember me?" - a male voice asked her.
"No, I don't have any idea. Silence. So, who is it?"
"It's me, Sheldon."
"Oh, Sheldon, what do you want? I'm not in mood to talk with you. As a matter of fact, I won't be in mood to talk to you never again!"
"What's the problem baby? I still have thoughts about you. I wonder where are you every single day."
"Well, keep thinking, 'cause I won't tell you." - Maria was annoyed. This reminder of her past felt like a knife in her heart.
"Hey, darling, I found your number, I'll find your address too. Just wait and see."
"You wouldn't dare to come over" - Maria was yelling at him. Tatiana heard her sister screaming over the phone. "That's that idiot, Sheldon. How can he call again after all that he has done to us?!"
Sheldon is Maria's ex-boyfriend. They didn't get along, and the reason because they moved in a new house was partly because Maria had problems with him.
"This time, even the police can't stop me. You're mine, understand that? MINE"
"Only in your dreams, Sheldon. If you call me again, I swear I'll call the police".
She cut off the call, and she was afraid to look at Rafael. This is going to be bad for her upcoming career. But Rafael wasn't there. "What a relief!" After Rafael and Julia left, Tatiana started preparing for her date tonight. She was excited like a child on Christmas, and Rodrigo was her Santa Claus.
"Okay, cell phone, key, wallet, wipes, make up, everything's here. He'll be over any minute now. God, I'm so nervous"
Few moments later, she saw his car stopping in front of her house. She rushed there.
"Tatiana, I must say you look stunning tonight. I can't take my eyes off you" - he was honest.
"Thank you Rodrigo" - she was blushing... "Come on, let's go, I got us a nice table at 'Londoste'" "I didn't know that we're going on a dinner. I thought that we planned to go to the local cafeteria, few blocks away. I'm not properly dressed" - Tatiana was embarrassed.
"Don't be silly, you look amazing" "Thank you"
"This food is delicious. This is my favorite restaurant. What do you think?"
"I agree with you" - Tatiana smiled, she was happy because they started to know each other and they were getting very well. "Now that we can talk about everything, I want to ask you something more serious"
"Yes, dear, you can ask me anything"
"Me and my sister had a problem with one person, and we called the police. He wasn't allowed to approach us, but now he is calling again..."
"Just call the police again. If you want to, I can handle it, just give me the number that he is calling and we will redirect his calls. If the things get worse, we will take other safety measurements."
"Thank you, Rodrigo, I would appreciate that".
"Forget about all problems, this is our night" - Rodrigo seemed to be happy, and Tatiana enjoyed too. She didn't want to ruin this moment, so she picked up her glass of wine and made a toast with him.
"To our new beginning, and happiness" "Cheers"
They were drinking wine and look in each others eyes, when Rodrigo's heard his favorite song. "Let's dance, beauty"
"Excuse me?" "Don't be shy, come on!" "This song is amazing. I like the rhythm"
"Come closer" - their bodies connected in sweet embrace, setting on fire an unstoppable passion between them.
"Don't you think that we're too close? That this is way too fast?" Tatiana hesitated for a moment.
"I waited for this moment for so long, I don't want to miss a thing anymore. You're gorgeous"
"You're making me feel like a woman again. I like this feeling..."
They danced hugged like that until the closing time.
"It's the closing time, we have to go. Would you like to go at another place? A night club maybe?"
"No no, I had a great time tonight. We will go at a night club, but not now. Could you please take me home?"
"Sure, sweetie, get inside the car" - he opened her the door.
"Wow, you're such a gentleman" - she smiled seductively.
"Thank you Tatiana, for accepting my invitation and made this evening more beautiful"
"Actually I asked you out" - she giggled.
"Yeah, you did... I'm looking forward to our next dates."
"Let's go home"
It was an end to a beautiful evening...

Glad you've continued--the story is quite interesting--Rafael and Julia's reaction to Tatiana's date especially interesting!
It would seem Rafael has a bit of a crush here, and Julia knows it, even if Tatiana does not...
