Hi guys! This is my first story so I hope you guys like it! And I do like critisim and feedback! Thanks!
It was early morning, probably three or four A.M. I didn't really care to check so I went into the living room an watched TV. I turned it to whatever channel and sat there, not really even watching TV. Max, my dog, came up and sat next to me. He was nice company, I guess.
I thought about the girl in my bed. I wish I could remember her name. I felt bad, but it happened all the time. Met them at bars, one night stand, never heard from them again.
It was typical. finally the sun started coming up, and I heard noises coming from my bedroom.
"Nathan?" her voice rang through the house.
"Yeah?"
"Oh, hey..." she said as she winked seductively.
I walked over to her. We flirted for a while. I couldn't help it. She was hot.
The door swung open and in stepped another woman. But I knew this one's name.
I broke the clotheless womans gaze and looked at Emma. "Hey, you're here early."
"Ugh, Nathan, I wish you would stop doing this."
"I have to go Nathan." the woman said as she walked back into my room.
I ignored her and walked over to Emma. "Doing what"
"You know what..." Emma walked towards the kitchen and I followed. "I don't know what you're talking about." I smirked.
"See look! You're smiling! You've done this every day for the past few months and I'm SO tired of walking in on you and your many lovers." Emma frowned.
"Why would you care?" It was so fun to bug her.
She gave me a serious look. "I don't care about the girls. BUt you're my friend and my boss. I care about you. And it's not exactly healthy to be with a different girl every night."
"Its not every night." I reasoned. "Mostly weekends." "Still..." she went the the desk and started typing out something.
You gotta give her props. It was Saturday, early in the morning and she was still calm and level-headed. Even when I was messing with her.
"I came to tell you that I'm leaving for Paris today. I'll be gone for a while, but I can still work from Paris so don't worry about anything."
"Oh." or some reason I got a little sad. I guess it gets pretty lonely here without someone visiting. I mean sure I have friends, but they're all rowdy. And none of them really like to hang out. They just want to party.
"Yeah, so I have to go now. See you later, Nathan."
She gave me a quick hug and ran outside to her car. I was alone yet again. I stayed in watching TV, using the computer and playing with Max. It started getting dark again so I decided to go jogging with Max.
"Hey, boy, wanna go for a jog?" I said to the excited dog.
All he did was stare at me with big eyes, so I decided that was a yes and I got my workout clothes on and went outside. We usually went on runs at night, it helped me clear my mind. After that I'd would normally go to a club, but tonight I felt different.
We ran way up into the moutain area and still kept going. I paused to catch my breath when Max stopped. His ears pricked and his head swerved towards the left of the path we were on. He growled.
Then I was on alert. Max never growled at anything, he was very friendly. Only something really bad would get Max upset.
He ran towards the left, straying from the path and from me, as he follwed the sound only he heard. I had to follow him. Suddenly a ship came into view. A ship! Right in the middle of a lake. Nowhere near the ocean. It was eerie and I knew something was up.
People didn't just stumble upon random ships in the forest. That just sounded stupid.
Max stood at the edge of the rocks and when he saw me, he ran to me. I rubbed his head and walked closer to the ship.
It was an odd feeling; I knew I shouldn't be near the ship, but something kept drawing me closer. Suspiscion? Curiosity? I didn't know.
I strode around the ship to the boarding dock... That's when I saw her. This thin, pale girl just sitting on the rocks, her feet dangling in the water. She did nothing. Just sat there and stared out towards the ship.
I wanted to say something; but what? What would you say to a girl you just happened to see at an abandoned ship on a lake?
Finally, I decided to speak. "Hi...are you okay?"
She jerked. Then she peered over her shoulder and gasped.
"I didn't mean to startle-"
I started to say. But she had already plunged into the water. "Holy-" I cursed. I ran down to where she was sitting and looked down at the water but it was dark and I couldn't see much.
Suddenly, she resurfaced and looked towards me. Her eyes glinted from the moonlight.She was beautiful and powerful looking.
She stared at me for a long time, her mouth drawn into a line. Then suddenly, she smiled. I smiled back.
"Come..." was all she said. Her voice was soft yet firm. It sounded like an angel had spoken. She swam closer and extended her hand. I didn't have to take it, but I felt like I needed to.
Then, before I knew it, she pulled me in. Cold water sunk through my clothes and stung my eyes. "What the-" but I couldn't finish my sentence. I was already underwater, the girl pulling me down deeper and deeper...
