Hi there! Here's the next part of my story, I decided to create a new cover page since Jade isn't a toddler anymore. Please leave comments and any suggestions, I hope all of you have a great weekend! Happy reading- I slowly rose to my feet and stumbled to the front door, as I approached I peered through the glass. It almost looked like no one was there...I slowly unlocked the door and pushed it open. As I stepped onto the front porch there was no one, but I did feel something touch my foot and I jumped. I looked down to find a vase of flowers at my feet, there was no note but I already was pretty sure I knew who put them there. "Trevor?" I called out, I looked out towards the street but I couldn't see anyone. I sat down on the steps and waited. After a while I looked up and saw Trevor sanding there. "You caught me," he laughed. "Yes I did," I smiled back. I stood up and thanked him for the flowers, and asked him if he wanted to join me out back for some dessert. "Well, I guess I could stay for a while, but not to long," he answered. "Wow, this is really good what is it?" Trevor asked as we were eating our slices of cake. "Well actully, it is my mother's homemade chocolate cake," I said, "I used to beg for it all the time when I was a kid." He smiled, "It's the best chocolate cake I've ever tasted." After we had finished our cake, Trevor told me something I would never forget. He told me that he had never had forgotten me. "I'm really glad we met again," he finished, "Having you here has really made moving back less tough." Before he left that night, he gave me a goodbye hug. It wasn't just a friendly hug, it seemed like a romantic hug too, it was really nice to hug a man and feel good about it. Keith had left me with bad memories, but Trevor was helping me bring back good ones. A few months later I had a special day planned with my best friend Miah. She had been my best friend since eighth grade and we were like soul sisters. She and her husband Garett were expecting their first child towards Christmas and I was so happy for them! Since we hadn't talked for a while I decided to have her over for lunch. We both prepared the food, while chatting about her growing family and me mostly talking about Jade. I didn't decide to bring up Keith yet, I didn't want to talk about him, and just didn't fit in with all of Miah's happy news. When we finally sat down to eat, we were so hungry. We both commented each other on the yummy dishes we had made. Miah told me all about baby shopping, and designing the room. It brought back many memories of me decorating Jade's room and buying teeny-tiny baby clothes. It got me thinking about what it would be like if I had another baby. Since Keith left me before Jade was born, I had to go through it all by myself which was really hard. "So," Miah asked, "Has Keith called you lately?" I thought about lying and saying he hadn't, but Miah was my best friend I could never lie to her. "Well actully he has." I said, "He called me a few months ago and wanted me to meet him downtown." Miah smiled, "Wow that's great..." I cut her off though, telling her what all had happened. "Wow," she said sounding appauled, "I'm so sorry Addie, I just can't believe he could do that to you after you had given him all those chances, what a cruel man." "Yea," I said soberly, "I just wish he would be a better father, I know that we're divorced but he still has a daughter that needs him." Miah stood up and hugged me, "Oh Addie, you don't deserve this." As we sat down, I said "I guess if Keith won't budge there's nothing I can do about it, I just have to keep living my life." "Well," she said, "There's always other guys out there, I'm sure there is one that will treat you so much better than Keith ever has." "Well actully," I said excitedly, "I've kinda of met someone who I think I'm in love with already." Miah looked suprised, "Really?" She said, "who would that lucky guy be?" "Do you remember that guy I dated when I was a seinor" Miah smiled, "Wasn't his name Travis or Tr... oh wait Trevor Marshall that's it!" I went on telling Miah about how Trevor had moved into a little house down the street and he had gotton a divorce too. I also told her how we met and that we had gone on a "date" one night. I felt like a highschool girl again, talking to my best friend about boys. "Ohhh," She said grinning, "It's so great you found someone that you already like so much." "When I'm around him I feel so happy and comfortable," I said, "He's one of those guys who's so easy to talk to and be around." "Well, if it feels right then I'd say go for it." she suggested. We talked for a while longer, but then Miah had to leave for a doctor's appointment. I walked her out to the car and gave her a big hug. "It was great talking to you Miah" I said hugging her, "I'm just glad you finally found someone, you deserve much better than Keith." she said. As she pulled out of the driveway I waved and watched her drive past Trevor's, I saw Trevor out getting the mail and I smiled to myself. A few day later I had a day off of work so I decided to clean up the yard. I had a larger yard and it was sometimes hard to keep it looking nice, everything was dying, weeds were growing out of control, the grass needed cut, and bushes needed trimming. It was a large task, but I was in the mood to do it. I had gotten going on the front yard, when I looked up and saw Trevor weeding. "Hey," I yelled over to him, "Where did you come from?" He pulled up a huge weed and walked over to me, "Well I saw you out here and thought you could use a hand, I would love to help you clean it up." I looked around my yard at all the tasks I still had to do, "Well if you're sure you want to..." He bent down and began to weed again, "Positive." he said. Trevor and I worked an worked and worked all afternoon. By noon we had finished the front and were starting on the back bushes and flowers. We had almost gotten halfway through the back but we decided we would finish it up some other day. "Wow," I said, wiping the dirt of myself, "This looks amazing how can I thank you Trevor?" He picked up the shovel, "Oh no problem, I'm so glad I could help it was fun..." Suddenly Trevor was wrapping his arm around my back and pulling me close. I felt myself put my hands on his shoulders, our faces coming closer. Before I could realize it we were kissing, I wrapped my fringers around his black hair and arms around his back. It felt so right and I never wanted it to end. As we slowly pulled away, Trevor stroked my face. I felt so light and full of joy, I finally knew that Trevor really did like me. "I'm so glad you moved back..." I sighed. Trevor twirled a piece of my hair, "Me too." We stood there for a few moments, then the sound of the bus engine filled our ears. "Well," he said, "we'd better go get our kids." We both had wlaked out and got the kids off the bus, then he left with Austin. Later that night I was in a great mood so I decided to cook Jade and I some lobster. I loved lobster meat dipped in butter, it was so light and tasty but it still filled you up. After cooking for hours it was finished and I was suprised how good it tasted, Jade had never had lobster before and she ended up liking it a lot. I decided to go read on the outdoor bed around nine, Jade followed me out and ended up falling asleep next to me. I started to read my favorite book, "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. Even if I had read it about 500 times I never got sick of it, it was always my favorite book to read. As I read I thought about what my future could bring and smiled.
