Description
Once upon a time, somewhere far away, there lived a beautiful queen. Queen Rosamond ruled over a large nation, her land prosperous and her people flourishing, but the queen was an awful woman--cruel and full of vanity. As the years passed she mistreated her subjects and offended her peers to such an extend that they began to plot against Rosamond. With the help of a long-suffering cook they poisoned her favorite dish, and as they watched their queen slip away the assassins planned the large scale evacuation of not only the dreaded castle, but the entire city. Years became centuries, and mother nature gradually swallowed the queendom whole, the city overrun with vegetation and encroaching wildlife...and in the midst of this chaos, the crumbling ruins of the castle of Queen Rosamond still stands, vine-choked and rotting. None dare to approach the dead city, but it has long been whispered by the fire side that high up in the tallest tower one soul still wanders the cobwebbed corridors, slippered feet drifting over moth eaten carpets, the tinkling sound of laughter echoing off the peeling walls....

A FURNISHED abandoned castle with at least 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a basement kitchen, dining and living areas, outdoor pool and 2 spare floors.

I came up with the idea for Lacrymose Lane after watching Sleeping Beauty and wanting to do my own rendition of the sleeping princess waking up 100 years later to find her friends and family long gone, with her all alone in a crumbling castle--great premise for a horror film! I made this lot around the time that Hurricanes Irene and Lee hit, and I remembered the hurricanes we'd get Down South, which made me think of the swamps and the old old homes along the bayous with their faded mold-stinking walls, mossy walkways and dark drooping trees. I named the lot after one of my favorite songs by Evanescence, Lacrymosa. So...there you have it. The Horror Story version of Sleeping Beauty, lol! Enjoy!
