Hi everyone! Here is the 3rd chapter of "The legend of Arash". I hope you all enjoy it! :) In our last chapter, Captain Phoenix decided to spend the night at Lord Baal's complex, but his mind was filled with doubts. His team wanted to leave immeadiately and search for Lady Gaia, but his old instructor, Lord Baal, advised him otherwise. He had also said he had something important to show him... But what could it be? Back at the rebel base, the rest of the team couldn't sleep. They were feeling trapped inside the dome, without any chance to help their friends. When Captain Phoenix told them he had decided to spend the night at Lord Baal's complex, they felt even more anxious about the whole rescue mission. To Raiden and Aella's relief, Medea had stopped crying after a while. She had managed to keep her emotions under control... after all, this was not the time for tears; it was more important to help the team in some way... but how? "You know, I just remembered something!" said Medea "You brought samples from the planet Chloris and we have the equipment to analise it. We should be analysing them so we can defeat the Durgas once and for all!"

"You know, I think that's an excellent idea!" said Raiden feeling cheerful for the first time.
"Come on guys!" Aella said excitedly "Let's contact the Captain, I'm sure he will approve this!" Back at his chamber, Captain Pheonix was surprised to see his team establishing contact at that hour. He hoped nothing had happened.

"Are you there, Captain?" Raiden asked.

"Yes, go ahead." Captain Phoenix said, getting up.
"Captain, since we have the samples we brought from Chloris, we ask your permission to open the cargo and start our research" said Raiden.

"You have my permission," said Captain Phoenix "but make sure you all get some rest as well. Your intentions are good, but I need you sharp and alert, just in case."
"No problem Captain!" Aella said "We'll contact you again when we have the results." After his team contacted him with the good news, Captain Phoenix felt slightly better. Maybe he would get a some sleep after all. The rest of the team did not waste any time and started to analyse the samples. They knew the Durgas were made of a rare, almost indestructible metal, but Lady Gaia believed they had a weakness. They avoided planet Chloris at all costs, so maybe there was something in the planet that could destroy them. They spent all night researching, comparing the data, hoping they would find any properties in the samples that could destroy the Durgas. It was almost dawn and they still had not found any clue. Maybe the Durgas were avoiding Chloris for another reason... In the morning, Captain Phoenix found Lord Baal walking in the gardens alone. This was the perfect opportunity to talk to him in private. They started talking, remembering the old days. Captain Phoenix was a bit disappointed to realise Lord Baal did not even mention Lady Gaia.

"Lord Baal, yesterday you told me you had something important to show me." Captain Phoenix said, trying to be polite "But what can be more important than saving Lady Gaia?"
"Ah, yes..." Lord Baal said "I understand your concern about Lady Gaia and forgive me for not mentioning it sooner. I guess now I tend to overlook the important matters of this world... I realise I am not the same man you met so many years ago." "What do you mean?" Captain Pheonix asked "Are you telling me you are not going to help me? Lord Theseus will continue to rule the galaxy if we don't put a stop to it!"

"Quiet down, young Phoenix... I did not say that." Lord Baal said. "Gather your team, we will be leaving soon and what I want to tell you cannot be explained with words. You will save Lady Gaia in the end, but you need to understand something first."
Meanwhile, one of the Durgas approached Lady Gaia in her cell. It was the same Durga that had looked at her the day before. "Lady Gaia, I do not have much time." The Durga whispered "I cannot save you, but you need to know something about the Durgas..."

Lady Gaia was stunned to see the Durga was actually addressing her.
"Durgas are Lord Theseus' creations... but we are not entirely machines. We were once human, like yourself." The Durga said in a strange voice "We can't disobey a direct order comming from Lord Theseus. If you find a way to get out of here, think of a way to save us. I can't hold this for much longer... "

"I will try my best." Lady Gaia promised.
Lord Baal refused to say where he was taking them, and after a while, the team travelled in silence, each with their own thoughts. A few hours later, they arrived at a mysterious place they had never seen before. "Ok, now what is this place? Why did you bring us here?" Crystal asked. She still thought they were wasting time.

"I advise you to lower your voices from now on." Lord Baal said quietly, ignoring Crystal's question. "Follow me please..."
"Do you recognise this gate, Captain Phoenix?" Lord Baal asked. "Do you still remember the legend?"

"I... I thought this only existed in dreams..." Captain Phoenix had a strange smile on his face. "So you found it?"
"Legend, what legend?" Crystal asked confused "Gunnar, what on earth are are they talking about?"

"Crystal... the legend of Arash!" Gunnar said excitedly "Didn't your parents ever told you when you were a kid? Everyone who finds the gate of Arash will find his heart's desire..."
"Exactly, Lieutenant Gunnar." Lord Baal said "Everyone thought it was a legend, but a few years ago we found the gate of Arash buried in the desert. I started my search after I saw the other half of the gate when I was a hostage in Lord Theseus' dungeon. He doesn't have a heart, so I don't think he even knows how to operate it." And then, much to their surprise, they started glowing brighter and brighter.

"What is happening to us?" Crystal asked "It feels... wonderful!"
"Your hearts are aching to find Lady Gaia..." Lord Baal said. "It activated the gate to Lord Theseus Dungeon."

Crystal and Gunnar were ecstatic. They never imagined they would find a way to save Lady Gaia that way. It all seemed like a fairy tale... and it felt fantastic!
"I think you should hurry now, while the gate is still open." Lord Baal said. But they didn't need to be asked twice. They hurried through the gate, not knowing what they would fin on the other side... After they left, Lord Theseus sighed. Captain Phoenix had always been his favourite apprentice. He just hoped he had helped him in this quest, instead of luring him into his death.

"Good luck..." He whispered to himself, before he left.
In just a few seconds, our heroes found themselves in a strange room. They had been literally thrown off the gate with such violence that they fell to the floor. One thing was for certain, they were not in Arash anymore. "Wow, now that was intense..." Gunnar said. Crystal was speechless for the first time. "Come on team, we need to hurry now before anyone find us!" Captain Phoenix said, as Crystal and Gunnar tried to regain their composure. The instant travel had left them a bit sore.

"Lady Gaia must be somewhere in this place! Let's go!" He said before he started to run.
"All right, all right!" Crystal said, as they both hurried after the captain. "We're coming!"

(to be continued - Stay tuned for the last chapter!)

Well, to quote Gunnar: "Wow, now that was intense..." and you have me speachless. BTW: in the fifth last picture the text: 'After they left, Lord Theseus sighed.' had me a bit baffeled... Is he really Lord Theseus or was it a typo??! For now I wrote it off as a typo... Great story though, great job!!
