Hi everyone! I hope you enjoy this story. I must warn you it is my first story ever, and english is not my native language, so please don't be too harsh... Enjoy!

Credits: Clothes can be found at: www.all-about-style.com and furniture at www.vitasims2.com Any of the villagers of Mountain Spring would agree that the old manor at the top of the hill had been deserted for at least a century. It was quite a surprise for everyone when Sir Theodore Finnigan and his beautiful wife Penelope White announced they were moving in and make it a home again. Theodore was thrilled with the idea of starting a new life with Penelope. He knew her since they were both children. His mother had found her in an orphanage when she was very young and brought her to his home, where she worked as a maid. But now he was in love with her and all he wanted was to make her happy and love her the way she deserved. Much to his satisfaction, Penelope seemed to really like the new house. She enjoyed to spend much of her time in the garden and sometimes he could swear she even talked to the plants. His mother would visit them sometimes, but Theodore couldn't help noticing how she treated his wife as if she was still her servant. Theodore had hired Lolly as a maid, as his mother sugested, but she also seemed to dislike Penelope. He could see his wife tried hard to please everyone and behaved as it would be expected in social ocasions. Theodore was beginning to worry that so much criticism towards his wife would make her unhappy. He needed to do something about it. He decided it was best to open his heart to his mother and ask her to be a bit more tolerant towards Penelope. He really loved them both and wanted nothing more in the world than to see his mother and his wife become friends. "Honestly mother, she's trying so hard to please you," Theodore said, a hint of disappointment in his voice "and it's frustrating to realise you're not even willing to accept her." "... I didn't know a son could say such terrible things to his own mother," Mrs. Finnigan said looking hurt " I always did my best to accept this girl, Theodore!" Days went by and Theodore wondered if his conversation with his mother had been successful. His mother had been unusally quiet about Penelope. But his wife seemed to be happy when they were alone and that was probably a good sign. "I have been thinking about mother these last few days. I'm a bit worried about her" Theodore said one day over dessert. " Are you two getting along? I can't help wondering if all this tension betwe-"
 "You know, you worry too much." Penelope interrupted her husband, as she noticed the maid listening carefully to the conversation. "But this dessert, however, looks absolutely delicious. Lolly, you've outone yourself this time!" A few minutes later, Lolly was standing in the kitchen trying to regain control of herself and remembering everything she had heard in the dinning room. Truth was, Loly had a secret. She was in fact a very rich woman, but had agreed to follow Mrs. Finnigan's instructions and disguised herself as a maid, hoping Theodore would show any interest in her, as he had done for Penelope. She was incredibly jealous of Penelope and the way Theodore loved her. She wanted him to herself and thought it was extremely unfair that an educated man like him had fallen in love with a simple maid like Penelope.

"I hate her, I hate her!" Lolly growled. "I don't know what Theodore sees in her..." "This maid suit is dreadful and it your plan doesn't seem to be working!" Lolly said to Mrs. Finnigan who was looking intently outside the window. "Your son is obsessed with that vulgar woman and I, not only am dressed as a maid, but also cooking and washing the dishes! I can't stand it for much longer, I tell you!" "Patience, my dear..." Mrs. Finnigan said quietly. "Your time will come sooner than you think. That girl loves the wilderness and her pitiful garden. I'm sure we can use that to our advantage."

"What do you mean?"

"Just look outside and listen carefully..." The two women watched as Penelope raked the leaves. She was so busy with her work, she didn't notice the strange creature behind her. Little did she know that her life was about to change forever. "Don't be afraid, human," the creature said "I am Gael, the last of the plantsims. I live in the woods nearby and I noticed how devoted you are to your garden. I want to share my knowledge of the plants with you. Do you accept my offering?"

Penelope was so surprised she could barely speak. After a while she managed to reply Gael. "Yes, nothing would make me happier than to learn the secrets of the plants!" Meanwhile, Lolly rushed to see Theodore in his office. She knew this was the perfect opportunity to ruin his relationship with Penelope.

"Excuse me, sir" she said innocently "I was wondering if you would introduce me to your friend. He seems quite strange, but your wife seems to like him very much." "What friend? What do you mean?" Theodore asked confused. He wanted to know who was talking to his wife.

"Well, I assumed he was your friend... but now that I think about it-" "To be honest I never saw him with you, but your wife and him seem to be really close." Lolly said smiling seductively.

"I don't know what you're insinuating, but-" Theodore said, his heart caught in his throat.

"But sir, just look outside the window. Surely you have to agree with me..." She whispered in his ear. When Theodore looked outside the window, he was shocked to see his wife talking to a stranger... a green creature! They seemed to be really intimate, which was even more suprising. He couldn't believe his own wife had a close friend and never told him about it! Theodore felt his life had been twisted upside down. He ran away from the window, unable to look at his wife. She cheated on him, he was sure of that. Everything he knew to be true was wrong. He had lived in a lie all this time.

"I can't... I-" Theodore sobbed, loosing control of his feelings. "How could she do this to me??"

Lolly couldn't help laughing behind his back. The plan was finally working... Theodore was finally going to be hers.
