Hi everyone! After this 3rd chapter I'll be posting the conclusion, so I hope you all stay tuned to see how this ends! :)

Credits: Furniture can be found at vitasims2.com and clothes and all-about-style.com Our last chapter ended with Lolly and her secret lover Jack plotting to destroy Theodore and Penelope's marriage. If they only knew Gael was hiding in the nearby trees listening to their conversation... Lolly and Jack were a pair quite different from Penelope and Theodore. They were both ambitious and cunning and willing to do anything to achieve their goals. One could say they had strong feelings for each other, but it's more accurate if we say they were very much in love... with money. "I think we've been here for too long now. You should get back to the house..." Jack said stretching his legs. "Theodore is not a fool as you think, so make sure you snog him soon and properly, before he changes his mind about Penelope."
"Sometimes you're a complete oaf, you know that?" Lolly pushed Jack off her lap, feeling hurt. She wondered if Jack loved her at all. He talked like he didn't seem to mind the idea of her kissing another man. The thought alone infuriated her.
"What did I say?!" Jack asked indignantly. "Nothing, you were just being your usual self." Lolly spat. "Make sure you leave unnoticed."
"You don't need to sound so bitter" Jack said whiping off his trousers.
"Just so you know, allowing you to kiss another bloke isn't exactly a picnic for me. And I just said that becau-" But Jack never finished the sentence. Lolly had left him standing in the garden talking to himself.
He closed his eyes and clenched his teeth. "Damn woman!" Gael didn't lose any time and decided to go look for Penelope inside the house and tell her everything he had just heard. He climbed the first open window he saw, but since he had never been inside a building before, he got lost in the complicated corridors of the mansion. He opened a door and, much to his disappointment, Penelope was not inside. Instead, there was a man looking at him and by the look on his face, he did not seem very pleased with his presence.
"I'm sorry, human. I didn't mean to disturb you." Gael figured it was best to apologise. "I wonder if you could point me the way to Penelope's cubicle. I think I got lost." Theodore never felt so much anger in his entire life. He could not believe the creature that his wife loved was actually inside his house looking for her and asking *him* directions.
"Listen here, you monster..." he growled "I am this close to kill you with my bare hands! If my wife wants to see you, I rather die than let it happen under my roof! "You're Theodore!" Gael exclaimed, stating the obvious. "Penelope told me so much about you!"
"What??" Theodore asked, quite not believing his own hearing.
"In fact, that's why I'm here." Gael figured he should warn Theodore too "I heard two humans in the garden saying they were going to ruin your marriage. They were joining their lips and doing disgusting things with them." "Enough of this. Get out of my house!" Theodore howled. He was so furious he couldn't understand anything the creature was saying.
"But I don't know how to get out. You have to warn Penelope!" Gael kicked himself mentally for trusting Theodore so easily. He was not like Penelope at all.
"I SAID GET OUT!" Theodore pointed to the exterior door trembling with rage. Meanwhile, Mrs. Finnigan was worried about her plan. She had never seen his son so heartbroken before. She worried about Penelope too. Contrary to what Lolly thought, deep down Mrs. Finnigan still cared for Penelope. After all, she had found her in the orphanage and always took care of her the best way she could. She decided to see Penelope herself and make sure everything went according to plan. If she was lucky, she would have her maid back that same day and her high society friends would finally stop humiliating her. "Dear, dear..." She said soothingly. "I warned you this would happen some day. Why didn't you listen to me from the beginning?"
"Mrs. Finnigan..." Penelope sobbed. "I lost him... I lost him." "He was never yours to begin with" Mrs. Finnigan said coldly. Penelope continued to cry, which she thought was rather upsetting "... honestly dear, how could you believe that a prestigious man as Theodore could possibly love you?" "You are right, he couldn't..." She said, trying to regain control of her feelings. "I just... I don't know where to go from here. I feel so lost."
"Look child, you will always find soup and bread under my ceiling. You know you can count on me." Mrs. Finnigan said, quite relieved that Penelope had stopped crying.
"Yes, I..." Penelope said "I guess I just need to say goodbye to a friend first." Theodore couldn't stop thinking about the green creature. He couldn't remember quite clearly what he had said... something about a kissing couple planning to destroy his marriage. What if Penelope was innocent after all? But she had hidden a close relationship from him... Truth was, he never felt so confused in his life. Theodore expected to see Penelope at dinner, but there was no sign of her, apparently.
"Mother, have you seen Penelope?"
"Yes, I have. She was in her room just a few moments ago. I'm sure she will join us any minute now." Mrs. Finnigan assured her son. She was relieved to know Penelope accepted her offer. She was probably packing her clothes so they could leave after dinner. Meanwhile, Penelope went looking for Gael. Her heart was broken and all she wanted was to leave that house. She had to say goodbye to him first. But unfortunately Jake had spotted her first.
"My, my... look at that bird..." He thought as he watched Penelope. "Hey, missy..." he called "you seem like a nice lady. Don't need to be affraid, I won't bite you." he said closing in on her.
"Stay where you are, or I will scream, I swear!" Penelope warned. She was so scared she felt she couldn't breathe... "She is not here yet... I think I will go check to see if she's in her room" Theodore said. A glimmer of hope was filling his heart since his encounter with the green creature and he needed to see his wife again. Maybe his marriage could be saved.
"Don't worry, she's just probably a bit late." Mrs. Finnigan said, afraid he could see Penelope packing her bags. It would ruin her plans. Suddenly, they all heard a scream outside the house.
"What was that?" Mrs. Finnigan said.
"I think it came from the garden. Stay here mother." Theodore said, getting up and leaving the room. The garden was unusually silent, making Theodore feel a bit aprehensive. He couldn't find anyone or anything that could have cause the noise. But he was sure he had heard something, a scream. His mother did too... And it was then that he saw something. Something so terrible he would never forget it, not even if he lived a thousand years. Theodore found Penelope lying motionless on the grass. She was cold as death and she wasn't breathing. Life seemed to have deserted her. He felt his body quiver in pain as his knees hit the ground. Theodore's scream echoed in the deserted garden. He had lost the love of his life. Nothing in the world would allow him to take back the horrible things he had said to her. She had died alone without knowing how much he loved her.
