Masks are a very useful feature of Photoshop, it allows you to hide parts of a layer without deleting anything.
This tutorial is written with object creating in mind, but it can easily be applied to clothes, walls, floors or fancying up preview images.

One of the first things you notice when you look at some of your favourite clothing creators work - is their ability to create clothing that looks very realistic.
So what is their secret? A lot of it, I believe, has to do with the use of some really creative layering techniques in Photoshop. In fact if you don’t do it already, you will find out after following this tutorial, that layering is a Sim clothing and object re-texturers best friend.
This tutorial assumes that you have a basic understanding of how to use Photoshop and Sims 2™ Body Shop. It is not essential of course but this tutorial will make a lot more sense to you if you have a working understanding of both these programs.

This tutorial will take you step by step though the meshing process. It is lengthy but it covers meshing from beginning to end. I included lots of pictures for those of you who learn by seeing. Requires the use of SimPE, Milkshape, and Photoshop (although any graphics program will work as long as you are familiar with it). Designed with beginners in mind but is useful for any level.
