In this tutorial, you will be building a Quarter StoryPlatform (Stage). You can place almost anything on this platform. Whenbuilding this stage, it CAN NOT be against any walls. The walls then becomeuneven to a point where you can’t level them. Enjoy!

Step 1.
Create a rectangle at least one tile square away from awall. In this tutorial, we will be creating a rectangle; 5x6.

Step 2.
Go outside the house, and create a foundation at leastthree tile squares away from the building. Be sure the foundation is in linewith one of the walls of the rectangle. Add a diagonal wall on top of thisfoundation. (If your house doesn’t have a foundation, don’t add a foundationbelow the diagonal wall.)

Step 3.
Since the platform is a quarter story high, we need thewall to be three fourths of a story below ground. For this to be possible, youneed to add three connecting stairs leading in line to the diagonal wall.

Step 4.
For the next few steps, you will need to enter a buildingcommand. Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+C to show the building prompt. Enter thefollowing command.
boolPropConstrainFloorElevation false
This will allow us to edit the tile elevation with noproblem.
Step 5.
Level the ground, starting with bottom of the connectingstairs and leading through the foundation you just built. This should bringthe foundation and wall down in level with the bottom stair.

Step 6.
Go up one story. Get the level tool and level from thetop of the diagonal wall on over to the rectangle. Be sure the entirerectangle is leveled off.

Step 7.
Level the single strip next to the wall.

Step 8.
Go up one more story and level everything on the floor.

Step 9.
Go down one floor and find the tile of your choice, placeit on a tile square, and hold down the Shift key. This is the only way you canplace tiles down without messing up the floors.

Step 10.
Addone connecting stair on the center left side of the rectangle, one on thecenter right, and two on the center front. Feel free to add stair railings toeach stair.

Step 11.
Now you can add a railing around the openings and aroundthe rectangle.

Step 11.
Now that we’re done editing the tile elevations, you canhold down Ctrl+Shift+C and type in the following command.
boolPropConstrainFloorElevation true
Now we won’t be able to edit the tile elevation.
Step 12.
Be sure that tiles are under the rectangle, paint on thewalls, and stairs in their places. Feel free to add any furniture on theplatform. Don’t forget to delete the connecting stairs, foundation, anddiagonal wall we created in steps 2 – 6.
Congratulations
Nowyou should have your very own Quarter Story Platform! I hope that you enjoyedthis tutorial and will continue to enjoy the work of The Sims 2!
