Make lovely buildings and features on your Sims’ lots by using the lattice foundation tools.

Step 1.

t’s make a gazebo because once you’ve done this with thelattice foundation tool, everything else you make will be as simple as usingthe same format.

Place a 6x6 square of either lattice foundation or plainfoundation. I am using lattice here.

Step 2.

Place wall along the outer edge of your foundation.

Note: You don’t have to havefoundations to make this work.  I am just using it because I like the look ofsteps on a gazebo.

Step 3.

Place lattice foundation as though it were flooring for a2nd floor.

Step 4.

Place wall in a 2x2 square centered on top of thefoundation (like a tiny 2nd floor room).

Step 5.

Place lattice foundation on top of this level.

Step 6.

Remove all the walls on the 2nd floor.

Note: Anywhere there is a wall sectionyou will not have lattice, for example, you would leave a section or sectionsof wall so that you can add doors, windows, etc.

Step 7.

Place the foundation over the previously laid foundation.

Isn’t that nifty!?! So far, so good; let’s keep going.

Step 8.

Remove ONLY the walls that will be filled in with latticefoundation.  I know, it looks strange, but trust me, this is going to work.

Step 9.

Re-cover the floor with foundation.

It still doesn’t look right… but we’re getting there.

Step 10.

Remove the 4 corners using your angled foundation tool.

And do the same with the ground level foundation corners.

Step 11.

Wow, looking more like the end product. Now add hippedroof – 4-sq.Wide and 6-sq.Deep.

Now do the same in the other direction.  You can also usethe new octagonal roofs.

Step 12.

Add a 2x2 sq. of hipped roof to the top.

Step 13.

Remove all the remaining walls.

Note: If you want doors, windows, orwallpaper keep the walls and add those features.

Step 14.

For the finishing touches, put wooden stairs and fencingin whatever positions you want…and decorate. Okay, it bugs me to see greengrass under an enclosed area, so I put NearDirt 2000 underneath the floor. J  Also, a light in the upper cupola adds some nicenighttime character to your gazebo.

You can also start with the solid foundation on thebottom and add wallpaper and flooring as you please.

Step 15.

This method works great for just about any building youwant. For example a child’s play house, a porch, a garden shed or anything youcan imagine simply by following the same steps.

Important information: 1) The key is toleave a section or sections of wall so that you can add openings, doors, windows, etc. 2) Another thing to remember is that this method works andlooks great without placing a ground-level foundation.  3) The Latticefoundation wall will NOT drop when you lower walls. 4) This house can be foundon TSR under the title Lattice Living.

Thanks for reading this tutorial. I’ll leave you with acouple examples of different lattice foundation uses:
