Overview.
This is a short, fun, and easy tutorial on adding yourown custom music to The Sims 2. You can add as many of your own songs as youwant, but keep in mind; the more music, the more slowly the game will run. Enjoythe tutorial!
Step 1.
Find a song that you’d like toput into your Sims 2 game. The song must be in .mp3 format. If not, youshould be able to find converters online.
Step 2.
Once you found your song, open a new Windows Explorer window. Go to ‘My Documents’.
Step 3.
Once in My Documents, go to the ‘EA Games’ folder. Oncethere, double-click on ‘The Sims 2’. After you’re in you’re ‘The Sims 2’folder, open the folder labeled ‘music’.
Step 4.
After your open the ‘music’folder, you will see many subfolders. Open the subfolder that your music wouldfit best under. If you want to listen to music while you build or buy, placeit under the ‘build’ or ‘buy’ folder. The other folders are for the radio orstereo system.
Step 5.
Now switch views back to your.mp3 file.
Copy the music, and paste it under the folder you openedin the previous step.
Congrats
Wasn’t that easy? You’ve just added custom music to yourgame! Remember, if you’re in Build or Buy mode, it may take a while to findyour song, but, if you followed this tutorial, it will be there. Thanks forreading and stay posted for my next tutorial!!!

Thank you for this! I tried to put my own music into the game, only it didn't show up because I had it in a separate folder! Great to know how to work around that.

I'm trying to put my songs into my game. Only there's a problem. I moved all my games and folders for The Sims 2 and all of my expansions onto an external hard-drive and now there are multiple "Music" folders on the external and I don't know where to put the songs. I've put up numerous posts and threads on numerous sites and no one has been able to help! Please.....Can you be that one person? Thanks for the tutorial! Keep rocking!
(P.S. I have iTunes but I converted the songs to mp3 versions and tried putting them in every music/pop folder(s) there are and nothing! Please help! :eek)

Can you make a new radiochannel by just adding a subfolder to the folder music?
